The butt whacker turns out to be a youth minister and scout leader

Well when the bar is set at "grabbing them by the *****", what's a little butt slap?
Who was it that was getting their ***** grabbed? And was it consensual?

I know that women in many other countries face conditions infinitely worse, but it's sad that even in America there are men -- including religious youth leaders -- who think it's their right to help themselves to women's bodies. Even in America there are men who act like God put the women there to degrade for their own entertainment. Very sad.

I have female friends from India. The markets are very crowded there. They say men grab women while passing. None of the women like it, but it’s very tolerated. A woman in a market knows she is going to grabbed sexually numerous times. I doubt it is a crime.

Who got grabbed by the *****?

Rudy Giuliani.

And they get raped and then set on fire when on their way to court to testify against their rapists.

I know that a professional woman getting hit on the butt by a stranger while she's doing her job is nothing compared to that. But just because it's not as bad as in India doesn't mean it's okay. It's against the law here and he should be prosecuted for it. IMHO.

(I know you're not arguing against consequences for this creep. I'm just saying.)

And now I've looked it up -- and it is illegal in India also. But mostly they have to endure it. Hopefully a message will be sent here that our laws actually matter.

Interesting. I wonder if he would say under oath that he would have smacked a male reporter's butt during a race where other people were high-fiving the male reporter.

It's always about where the line is drawn. Now that the line is being drawn more to the other side than before, we get comments like yours. Now when fairness is in question for favoring women, vs. men, it becomes an issue of our failure of being fair to men. We are not perfect in our jurisprudence nor popular judgement. I think many men act out of how raised in the context of a society that continually favors men v. women that it is OK to do much of what they do that they think innocent. Then, somebodies somewheres get nailed for it. Too F'n bad. Now that it's men being treated unfairly we all of a sudden have to get fair? Not on a personal, individual case, basis but on a societal basis if we have to go through men getting unfair treatment in court to get to fairness for women also, so be it.

You may be right. That is why some will not open doors for others or help in general. No one knows how the person will react anymore.

So?

What this youth minister and loving father did is illegal. Deflect all you want by pointing out that some other men swat some other men on the butt. I gave you the benefit of the doubt to at least entertain the possibility that this guy would have hit a male reporter in that manner, but I doubt he would have and I doubt you believe that he would have. And I doubt he would swear under oath that he would have.

Hopefully he will graciously take whatever the consequences are for his illegal action, so that in some small way he can actually be a decent role model.

My point is and you can disagree is the incident is being blown way out of proportion. It diminishes the definition of assault.

You support our president who bragged about grabbing women by the *****. You are part of the problem.

The problem here is your inability to stick to the topic, which is not Trump.

He should not be a youth minister. He should be fired. He has no business mentoring children on morals and conduct.

He's lucky he wasn't in North Korea.

There are different kinds of assaults. And different penalties.

Just because he didn't commit the worst kind -- and therefore doesn't deserve the worst penalty -- doesn't mean he doesn't deserve any penalty.

The butt whacker currently in the news turns out to be a youth minister and scout leader ... oh and a loving husband and father ... with daughters.

Tommy Callaway may face charges for slapping reporter Alex Bozarjian’s butt

He says it was a "mistake". Apparently he didn't know it was a bad thing. I guess he was okay with creeps doing that to the women in his family until now when he could possibly face criminals charges over it.

Callaway told Inside Edition on December 10, “ “I was caught up in the moment. I was getting ready to bring my hands up and wave to the camera to the audience, there was a misjudge in character and decision-making. I touched her back; I did not know exactly where I touched her.”

So he intended to wave at the camera and missed and hit this woman's butt? That's just pathetic. He needs to work on his lies. They're worse than his aim.

I am not saying America is perfect, because it’s not as bad as India. India is what happened when sexual assault is normalized and widely accepted. No woman wants be treated like that. Why are men confused about this?

I think he does deserve criminal prosecution.

The law is on the books. If that sexually motivated action against a stranger doesn't deserve prosecution, then strike the law from the books -- it's meaningless.
I agree 100%

He cannot be permitted to walk free. They have it on tape. He can't say that it didn't happen or she encouraged him.

If he is conviocted give him 1 year in jail and add his name to the sex offender list, along with mandatory counseling. That would end him being a youth minister and scout leader. I wonder what they might find on his computer.........?

You may be right. That is why some will not open doors for others or help in general. No one knows how the person will react anymore.

I hold doors open for people all the time. I've never once worried about being accused of sexually assaulting someone for it. Maybe you're doing it wrong?

No it doesn't. Me and my brother punch each other on the shoulder all the time it doesn't mean you can go around punching strangers. Context matters and the fact that you are trying to compare mutually consented comradery between friends and unwanted touching between strangers tells me you don't understand this very simple concept.

Parents should begin to wonder about him.

I'd like to know how that holigng the door open for someone could be construced as any way sexual. I think worse of the person who doesn't door it because it is an expected act of civility and decorum. Making sexual comments while you do would be a problem though..........

A little butt slap as they go through the door may give the wrong impression. ;)

The fact remains there's a big difference between common courtesy such as holding a door for the person, man or woman, in front of or behind you and touching them in a sexual manner...or any manner. A person holds their hand out to be shaken, they don't go around grabbing other people's hands to shake them. The people defending the butt slapper should be ashamed.

The problem here is your inability to stick to the topic, which is not Trump.

The topic is sexual assault. You rewarded a sexual assaulter by helping to make him president. That makes you part of the problem.

I think it's related to the little boy who quits the game and takes his ball home if he's not allowed to win. Someone who is reproached for slapping strange women on the buttocks will now no longer hold the doors open for them.

FWIW, I hold the doors of people open regardless of gender, usually if they are behind me, occasionally if they are approaching from the opposite direction. Many do the same for me. It's common courtesy. No touching involved.

I am afraid of getting in trouble so I stopped touching my wife..

If you are not smart enough to not casually commit sexual assault, that’s probably a good move.
