Live Senate Judiciary Hearing on IG Report, 12_11

America is so sick of this crap. Let's just get this over with and get on with the 2020 election, as that is the Dem's one and only chance to get rid of Trump. Trump is not going to be impeached in the Senate, and then Dem's are only damaging their chances for 2020.

Its Removed in the Senate. Impeachment is the exclusive business of the House.

I stand corrected. The house will indeed impeach (although I believe the Dem's are going to have several defectors along the way), but the Senate will not remove President Trump from office.

for anyone that wants a great summary of the issues, and is brave enough to challenge their dispositions, watch the video from 3:59:00 - 4:15:00 where Ted Cruz goes over the issues with the IG:

Meeting | Hearings | United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary

Cruz reads directly from the IG report most of the time. that is just about everything you need to know to see how screwed up this "investigation" was.

The majority of those on the left have not, nor will they ever, read or pay attention to the findings in the IG report.

They have already been pushed to move on from the smoldering remains of the objective they are required to support.

Next comes Durham, and they will avoid that as well.

All eyes are on the sham their directors are proceeding with in the House at this moment.

The predetermined result of the stain their directors are leaving in the House, will be the only narrative allowed to be discussed.

Rep Chabot trying to make the case that "High Crimes and Misdemeanors" means Crimes and Misdemeanors of the Federal Code. The Federal Code DID NOT EVEN EXIST the day the Impeachment section of the Constitution was written and for years afterword. The very first Federal Statutes came into being in 1789 and the US Code was first published in 1926. So Rep Chabot is either dumb as a doorknob, embarrassingly so for a Congressman or as unscrupulous and as irresponsible as a as a bank robber or maybe as a Trump.

As to whether Trump has actually committed Federal Code crimes can be argued. That it need be proven that he did in order to be impeached is not worth the hot air Chabot just expended making such an argument and is hardly even worth my keystrokes here.

Gohmert attempting to use the Horowitz Report as a means to attack the Impeachment effort. Another horse dung argument from the GOP.

As for whining about the process....go back Repugs and look at the "process" used to pass your GD tax bill. Then come back and try to make some process fairness argument.

Message to the GOP, screaming louder does not make a lie the truth.

true enough. I am hoping it will be pretty hard to ignore when people start going to jail.

DonDon is probably throwing his rattles and his teething rings around the playpen this morning. He CANNOT be happy listening to the reading of these Articles.

Why would the President be worried about what the coup seekers controlling the House are doing?

It will be a unilateral vote in the Judiciary Committee, and a unilateral vote by the same coup seekers when it reaches the House floor. The only thing in question is how many Dems defect and vote no to save their butts next year.

sure, it doesn't have to be proven to impeach when you have the majority in the house. whether that will incur the wrath of voters due to the unfairness of a partisan impeachment the next time remains to be seen, but I think it certainly will.

Well I have one reason why DonDon is doing it....because he is a petty witless child who takes every possible criticism in fact every disagreement with him as a personal affront and a reason to lash out. THAT is why he is likely throwing his rattles and teething rings and spoiling his diapers this morning.

LOL the FUNNIEST thing would be if they lose their majority to impeach due to self preservation and can't pass it.

that would be hilarious.

Okie dokie.

TDS manifests itself in many interesting ways.

Irrelevant response. It is what it is. You cannot reference something that did not even exist when the Constitution was written and build a rational argument around it. Justice Scalia is going to reach out from the grave, grab Chabot by the heart and drag him into the grave with him.

The Right and Trumpettes generally are a bottomless pit of blather, lies, ignorance, irrelevant arguments and absurdity. But you go ahead and make an argument that somebody grabbed Dr Peabody's wayback machine and carted the 1926 published statute code back to the Constitutional Congress and stuffed it in there someplace! You go ahead from your office in loony tunes la-la land.

LOL look i agreed with you, but there are consequences to prosecuting impeachment in certain, wrong ways. it is what it is.

Oh you are agreeing with me? Then stop referencing your "certain wrong ways" with my comments on Chabot's lunatic blather as if Chabot is not just blathering.

You sound like Trump now. "I really should not say this but oh well I am going to say it anyway.....right now" Give me a break.

He was as clear as he could be. I kept getting a feeling there was much more he wanted to say, but could not because of ongoing investigations. I came away from watching the hearing with a feeling of disappointment that our FBI is a mess for sure. Scary that many involved in this faulty culture are still employed.

It was exactly the same the last time he testified. He seemed perfectly ok testifying to facts that contradicted his own conclusions and continuously emphasized that people should draw their own conclusions. I kept getting the feeling he wanted to say "I had to say that in the report, but here the real deal....".

.

But you do realize there were Pro-Trump FBI agents involved in Cross Fire Hurricane.

That's irrelevant... The reason it's irrelevant is because there were no lies, misstatements, errors or omissions that benefited Carter Page or Donald Trump.

Unless your point was that Trump supporters in the FBI don't let their political beliefs alter their work the way the anti-trump employees at the FBI do... If that's your point, then it's a good one.

Did you happen to catch Blumenthal's exchange with Horowitz? Blumenthal raised the issue that the warrant continued to be renewed because it was producing valuable information. Horowitz did not agree with Blumenthal. Hope you can find that exchange on youtube.

that was the comment which provoked my post
i accepted Horowitz' reply as one being cautious with information which is compartmentalized

Did you happen to see an article by Chuck Ross today? He is an investigative reporter at Daily Caller and the article is titled "FBI Agent Who Played 'Significant' Role in Surveillance Abuse Wore Several Hats in Trump Probe". The article is showing up all over the Internet. In Horowitz's report this person is identified as Case Agent 1. Who is Case Agent 1?

Rightwing media is always impressive creating false narratives.
