I must have missed this news in September, but apparently, back in 2017 meeting where Trump did not allow any US media to be present, Trump told Russians he is Ok with Russian election interference.

President Trump told two senior Russian officials in a 2017 Oval Office meeting that he was unconcerned about Moscow’s interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election because the United States did the same in other countries, an assertion that prompted alarmed White House officials to limit access to the remarks to an unusually small number of people, according to three former officials with knowledge of the matter.

It took a couple years since that meeting for this to come out since... "a memorandum summarizing the meeting was limited to a few officials with the highest security clearances in an attempt to keep the president’s comments from being disclosed publicly"

You realize Trump just met with this guy again today, right?

We do meddle in other people's elections and governments.

Of course Trump would say that...because that's exactly what Putin would say. It's one thing for a corrupt leader like Putin to use whataboutisms to counter foreign criticisms of Russia...but for a US president to use the tactic against his own country, is another...and probably why White House officials found the statement so alarming.

"...Whataboutism, also known as whataboutery, is a variant of the tu quoque logical fallacy that attempts to discredit an opponent's position by charging them with hypocrisy without directly refuting or disproving their argument. It is particularly associated with Soviet and Russian propaganda....

Journalist Luke Harding described Russian whataboutism as "practically a national ideology".[22] Journalist Julia Ioffe wrote that "Anyone who has ever studied the Soviet Union" was aware of the technique, citing the Soviet rejoinder to criticism, And you are lynching Negroes, as a "classic" example of the tactic.[23] Writing for Bloomberg News, Leonid Bershidsky called whataboutism a "Russian tradition",[24] while The New Yorker described the technique as "a strategy of false moral equivalences".[25] Jill Dougherty called whataboutism a "sacred Russian tactic",[26][27] and compared it to accusing the pot of calling the kettle black.[28]

Throughout the Cold War, the tactic was primarily utilized by media figures speaking on behalf of the Soviet Union.[49][50][51]...

The tactic was used in post-Soviet Russia in relation to human rights violations committed by, and other criticisms of, the Russian government.[7][54][55] Whataboutism became a favorite tactic of the Kremlin.[56][57] Russian public relations strategies combined whataboutism with other Soviet tactics, including disinformation and active measures.[58][59][60] Whataboutism is used as Russian propaganda with the goal of obfuscating criticism of the Russian state,[61] and to degrade the level of discourse from rational criticism of Russia to petty bickering.[62]...

The Washington Post observed in 2016 that media outlets of Russia had become "famous" for their use of whataboutism.[76]....The Wall Street Journal noted that Putin himself used the tactic in a 2017 interview with NBC News journalist Megyn Kelly.[78]...

US President Donald Trump has used whataboutism in response to criticism leveled at him, his policies, or his support of controversial world leaders.[4][79][80] ...NPR noted similarities in use of the tactic by Putin and Trump, "it's no less striking that while Putin's Russia is causing the Trump administration so much trouble, Trump nevertheless often sounds an awful lot like Putin".[4]...

When asked about Russian human rights violations, Trump has shifted focus to the US itself,[79][67] employing whataboutism tactics similar to those used by Russian President Vladimir Putin.[4][81]..

After Fox News host Bill O'Reilly and MSNBC host Joe Scarborough called Putin a killer, Trump responded by saying that the US government was also guilty of killing people.[4][67][82]...

During a news conference on infrastructure at Trump Tower after the 2017 Unite the Right Rally in Charlottesville, a reporter linked the alt-right to the fatal vehicle-ramming attack that was inflicted against counter-demonstrators, to which Donald Trump responded by demanding the reporter to "define alt-right to me" and subsequently interrupting the reporter to ask, "what about the alt-left that came charging at [the alt-right]?"[83][84]..."

This statement borders on treason and is surely a violation of the Oath of Office.

The American Presidency. The Oath of Office: I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

How anyone who faithfully served in the US armed forces can defend this man I do not understand.

"unconcerned about Moscow’s interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election" ??

He straight up asked them for help, on stage , in public.

Now he is asking other countries for help.

What is there for him to be "concerned" about, other than being prosecuted for it ?

Did Obama think he was wrong to send paid government lawyers into Israel in 2015 to interfere with the elections for the express purpose of defeating Netanyahu? No, because Obama is a globalist who was fashioned by globalists and then inserted into politics by globalists. He will not be obstructing the goals of globalists. Democrats in America are globalists who see Israel's national existence as a hindrance to the formation of a one world government of nations. Democrats also see American individualism and patriotism as evil obstructions to the movement towards a 'unified' one world government of nations.

Seriously? Ummmmmmmm. It was Barack Obama's intelligence who told him Russia was trying to influence the 2016 election and he told them to stand down and let it happen.

Yeah sure, go ahead and paste some quotes and sources for us where Obama said it was Ok to interfere in our elections.

Democrats are taught to simply dismiss claims of wrongdoing by democrats, never to attempt to refute the claims.

If you read the link I posted, your propaganda point was refuted quite well.

Maybe this is why you missed it...nobody cared. "according to three former officials with knowledge of the matter"

If noone cared, it's only because everyone already knows Trump is a traitor.

I formed my opinion mostly by listening to Trump himself... so yes, you are right.
