292 Votes Needed For Impeachment

As long as the Republican Senators are willing to take the fallout from their dereliction of duty. They will find they are on the wrong side of history and will pay a heavy price for it as will the party.

Let's hope they do. The Republican party has been destroying itself for over 30 years. It's about time they had their final implosion so that a true conservative party could rise from the ashes.

I'm certain he did lie and that's backed up by the multiple facts he constantly denigrates the military, no one in his family has ever served and his current medical reports. Yes, lots of others dodged the draft and I wouldn't vote for them either. I'm on record constantly attacking Bill Clinton as being unfit for President due to this issue alone, among other reasons.

Given two choices; I'm also on record several times preferring Trump over Hillary even though I refused to vote for the "lesser of two evils" and chose to vote Libertarian in 2016.

So, you abdicated all responsibility for making as wise a choice as possible and defending the interests of the nation and its people... noted.

So has trump expelled Russia from Crimea? If so, that's news to me. It's ironic that you claim "all Obama did was give Russia lip service" because that's what trump is literally doing to Putin.

Trump is still cleaning up the carnage that Obama left.

By the way, I can't get to the tread you started in my honor named pradickcile. Did you put an iggy on me because you know you can never beat me in a debate and didn't want to be embarrassed? Or, did the moderators take it down?

When you find a true Libertarian that can win the presidency, let me know. From your postings, I find it hard to believe you are one.

You obviously don't know anything about bone spurs. Let me help you: Bone spurs - Symptoms and causes - Mayo Clinic

In short, they don't get better. They can be treated but not cured. How can Trump be the healthiest president ever if he has osteophytes and/or osteoarthritis? Which one is the lie? IMO, his claim of bone spurs was the lie. Ergo, Trump is a lying draft-dodging coward. You are free to believe he's the Messiah.

Only TDS'rs compare health today with health 50 years ago. That's really nonsense. So what if he dodged the military 50 years ago with fake bone spurs? Is that really the best you've got? What about Russian collusion? What about abuse of power? What about obstruction of justice? And you want to talk about bone spurs from 50 years ago? That just proves you got nuttin now.

LOL. There is a flip side to that. Democratic Senators from red states may pay the price come election time, as well as Democratic Congresspeople. And, with all the money swarming into the Trump campaign due to the impeachment, voters may very well give Trump a second term.

Every single court has ruled that Trump must allow his subpoenaed associates to testify and he must provide the documents requested by Congress. Trump and his lawyers have claimed he has the rights of a King. This is from a ruling by a Federal Court judge...

It never went to court. Democrats forged ahead with the impeachment before Bolton even went to court. The funny side is, if Democrats send this off to the Senate before the court hearing and the court rules either way, that article will be moot. If the court rules they must testify then they can testify in the Senate trial, making the obstruction of justice charge invalid, which can also happen if the court rules that they don't have to testify. Then you're stuck with only the bribery charge with all witnesses testifying that there was no bribery.

The news is that Obama allowed Russia to annex Crimea. Not only that but Obama drew a red line in the sand in Syria and let Syria (and the Russians) cross it, and Obama allowed Russia to interfere in our elections.

So you think voters want another 4 years of investigations and impeachments? That is what you are voting for if you vote for Trump in 2020. Trump will not stop his assault on the Constitution and the rule of law and Democrats cannot look the other way while he does it.

Thanks you admitting you are not part of the discussion that I am part of. You may see yourself out if you don’t wish to engage in that discussion.

I never wanted to be part of that discussion in the first place. But, when you claimed that it was the right who would start a civil war, I pointed out that the left were more likely to than the right.

Obama could not stop Russia's invasion of Ukraine but he was able to implement harsh sanctions on Russia as punishment. Trump on the other hand has consistently tried to remove those sanctions with no reciprocal actions that would warrant it. He is still trying to absolve Russia of responsibility for their actions by demanding investigations into a false conspiracy theory that blames Ukraine for the 2016 election meddling. His continued refusal to give a Whitehouse meeting to the Ukrainian President while meeting TWICE with Russia's top spy in the oval office weakens Ukraine in their talks with Putin to resolve the current conflict. It is unprecedented and dangerous to our national security.

Yep. Those are the trump/fox news talking points alright!

Such a shame the GOP can't be expected to hold a criminal accountable for crimes.

It's right there that has caused this division and impeachment process. Republicans view this whole affair as a very partisan vendetta against Trump for winning an election the Democrats thought they had in the bag. Republicans do not see anything Trump did wrong or anything that even comes close to qualifying as impeachment material.

Democrats view the actions of Trump as totally unconstitutional. That he has committed numerous serious impeachment warranted crimes. Hence, stalemate. Neither side will even listen to the other or even attempt to try to understand the other's point of view. Justice or Revenge, that depends on whether one is a D or an R.

Democrats will not stop their assault on Trump if he wins in 2020. That is just flat out abuse of power. I'm not going to vote against Trump just because Democrats have gone rabid.

Europe put sanctions on Russia and lifted them.

So you agree that voting for Trump will mean voting for more investigations and impeachments? What you call abuse of power is actually Congress doing its Constitutionally mandated job of oversight over the executive branch. Do you think the Constitution should be changed to state the President cannot be investigated by Congress?

And that proves what?

You say that Obama put sanctions on Russia due to the Crimea thing and so did Europe. You seem perfectly fine with Europe lifting sanctions but if Trump does it he is bought and paid for by Putin. Words are nothing but BS. The left want words but are content with no action. That's just worthless.

Yes I agree because Democrats have gone rabid in their hatred of Trump. Al Green has already said the Senate vote won't stop anything. I'm not voting for a party that purposely tries to run a president out of office by threatening non stop investigations and impeachments. In fact, even though I did not vote for Trump in 2016, it increases the chances I will vote for him in 2020.

Then you're stuck with only the bribery charge with all witnesses testifying that there was no bribery.

Not one witness testified there was no bribery and Mulvany admitted it to the world on TV and said "Deal with it". Everything is going to court and Trump keeps losing and appealing. It is a "rope a dope" strategy that intends to use the delay in court rulings to run out the clock to the 2020 elections.

Like a football team up late in a game whose defense hangs back to prevent big plays while letting its opponent make shorter gains, Mr. Trump’s legal team is looking to run out the clock, putting forth aggressive legal theories often backed by scant precedent. The strategy risks periodic bad headlines in the short term and could lead to definitive rulings that hamstring future presidents — but it is demonstrably advantageous for consuming time.
The theories include asserting that Congress lacks legitimate legislative authority to conduct oversight of whether government officials are engaged in wrongdoing, even though lawmakers have done so for generations; that impeachment investigators cannot gain access to grand-jury evidence, even though an appeals court permitted just that during Watergate; and that senior presidential aides are immune from subpoenas, even though a judge rejected that theory in 2008.
House Democrats have turned to the courts at an unprecedented tempo in their clashes with Mr. Trump, and they went into court on Tuesday to file yet another case — this one challenging the administration’s defiance of a subpoena for documents about its attempt to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census. But they are also growing disillusioned with the courts as a solution..

You forgot to include the view of independent, critically thinking, clear eyed, honest Americans; Trump has violated his oath of office, our Constitution, abused the power of his office, and repeatedly (including presently) obstructed justice.

I am not fine with lifting sanctions until Russia gives Crimea back to Ukraine. That is U.S. policy backed up by the unanimous passing of the bill that prevents Trump from removing sanctions without Congressional approval. Why do you think Congress did that? Sanctions are "action" and removing them would send the wrong message to our most dangerous enemy. Do you agree?

Thanks for proving all you have are insults and denial. I've said the same thing about Bill Clinton other draft-dodgers yet you only object to me questioning, with facts no less, Trump's veracity. If you'd ever served in the military, perhaps you'd have a better understanding of the repugnance we have for draft-dodgers plus those civilian cowards who attack those who have honorable served, even to the point of giving their lives for their country or have become POWs.
