Trump Makes US History

Looks like Obama made history too. He was President for the first 7 years of that decade. Thanks Obama!

Everyone knows Obama handed Trump a mess to fix! We were headed for something worse than the Great Depression, and Trump saved us. Please give your praise and worship to Lord Trump!

I did not know Trump was president for 10 years now how time flies. I thought Obama was president for most of that time.

Time flies when you're having fun. It flies even when you aren't so you may as well have fun.

Trump is God.

Well, good luck!

And try not to **** over the middle class again?

You mean like concealing cost increases via tarrifs under a fake, phoney, corporatist tax bill that leaves the middle class out to dry so oligarchs can process endless stock buy backs?

Yea, I'll be sure not to vote for Trump, or any republican, since I support the middle class.

But Trump made history better than Obama, Trump made history better than any president ever in the history of the whole United States! Trump will be the bestest ever in history books until the end of time! Trump is special, he is the first US president who served at the pleasure of a murderous dictator, Putin. Trump is the first president ever to betray our country and its people, while favoring world dictators and working so hard to be just like them. Trump is the first president of the US to lack maturity, knowledge and common sense, and abuse the power of his office for personal gain for himself and his family. He will be in the history books much more than any president ever, for his ongoing corruption and deception. He's a Winner, and he never tires of Winning.

One thing you never hear Republicans talk about anymore is the deficit, unless it is to cut benefits to the poor.

Hey, billion dollar handouts to benefit corporations are necessary to not feed the poor.

Some people never tire of tasting little mushrooms.

lol.......ok!

Actually, Obama took over at the bottom of a recession so he basically had nowhere to go but up.

Oh really? I guess you never heard of Great Depression, let alone experiences of other countries, even in those same years and a few years later. We could definitely have gone a lot lower. And recovery definitely did not have to be as fast as it was.

It is actually much harder to keep an upswing going after it has already been going for 7 years

Ever heard of momentum?

Ever heard about how it takes YEARS for some policies to affect anything in the economy. Trump did not pass any economic policies that would have affected economy within first 2 years.

So, if economists know that presidents barely effect the economy, will lefties acknowledge that if Trump goes into a recession, that it really has nothing to do with him? I doubt it.

I can't speak for "leftists" but I personally will agree that it would not be Trump's to own. If recession however will be a direct impact of tariff wars (according to economists), then Trump will have played some role in it. Still, it won't be anywhere close to 100% his fault or the fault of tariffs I am sure.

Yes, many economists use the supertanker analogy when describing how economies work. You can't stop a supertanker on a dime...it just keeps on rolling until momentum is lost.

The economy has been kept artificially inflated with low interest rates and quantitative easing. Postponing the inevitable correction will only lead to a bigger crash. Maybe the biggest ever. So don't open any champagne just yet.

Remind us, how did you enjoy your promised 10% middle-class tax cut? I believe the promise was made by Trump in September 2018...(speaking of ****ting over the middle-class, that is).

Workers barely benefited from Trump’s sweeping tax cut, investigation shows | US news | The Guardian

Trump’s fake middle-class tax cuts are dead - Vox

Pretty much everyone who was paying taxes got a tax cut. The notable exception would be rich people in blue states, who the left are whining about. Poor babies, they got their SALT capped at 10K. Most people couldn't scrape up 10K in SALT deductions.

While that's true, recessions are natural part of the business cycle. You can't have 100% good times. Unless we're in a new paradigm or something.

I wonder if the more you suppress a recession, the worse it is when it arrives.

I agree.

Actually, the main points that historians remember is that they were impeached.

So, you're saying that history judges Bill Clinton as a horrible president because he was impeached?

I was responding to your '****ing over the middle class' comment, just to offer a perspective from hard-working Americans who are feeling the pinch of Trump's stupidity and losing their businesses. Farmers and their families are being bankrupted by your self-proclaimed 'King of Debt'; that feckless idiot doing poor impersonations of a president.

U.S. farm bankruptcies surge 24% on strain from Trump trade war

So much winning, right?

The economy is going great, or haven't you read? All economies have winners and losers. There is never an economy that has 100% winners.
