Jodi Ernst in a Hot Mess

Look, Trump is going to win in a walk. The economy will drive the election and we just had the best employment numbers ever on Friday. Peace and prosperity is a winning hand. Psychotic attempts to undue 2016, not so much.
Trump winning is not a done deal, as we've been seeing with Trump's recent Southern election failures, to say nothing of his losing his House. And, very nearly half this country wants Trump impeached & removed. Think about that. We're not simply talking they want him beaten at the ballot box. They want him impeached & removed!

Ordinarily, an incumbent with a decent economy would be a shoe-in. But we haven't had a president this despised since Nixon. No president that I'm aware has prevailed with the upside down approvals that Trump suffers.

So, is Trump the presumptive winner? I'd have to say it leans that way. But it is far from a foregone conclusion. I predict trump will again lose the majority popular vote. But he may win the Electoral College. And this will throw the country into turmoil again, causing us to further re-examine a voting system that regularly is negating the majority vote.

I try to stay abreast of current events best as I can. I cannot see a clear favorite, nor is there a candidate that I feel can defeat Trump. The interference, last time, was only text adverts. Now altering audio and video are being perfected. The American electorate aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed......
Crazy as it sounds, I think Buttigieg would stand in stark contrast to Trump. In policy, demeanor, dignity, sensibility, everything. I think that's what the Dems need. A strong contrast.

Barking loons are all they have to offer so that part isn't up for debate.

Do you have something to offer for this discussion that isnt an Ad Hominim fallacy?

Back to castrating pigs for her!

trump should be her first subject.

When I was about twelve, they sent me away to school on a farm. One day in a shed, I spied a sawhorse looking stand. Two “x”s on either end, about four feet apart. There were braces on the bottom and on the topside there were two boards between the “x”s with about a two inch gap between them. Being a city kid, I asked someone what this was. I was told it was a pig castration stand. Just lay the pig in long ways and the testicles hung out of the gap; I still shudder when I think back to that visual......

I respect the fact that you seek out those from the other side of the aisle in order to have a nonpartisan or bipartisan discussion. You’re a better man that I am. Their insolence reminds me of the overconfidence shown by the DNC in 2016.

I still abhor the bothsideing when it reaches false equivalence; I still try to post on just one or the other party in a post; but I do see the value of speaking of both in one post; though it’s hard for me to do.

Here’s another pattern from 2016 on ‘reverse coattails’. Eight GOP Senators in swing states won by both the REPUB and Trump saw the Repub Senate candidate outpoll Trump; often by huge margins. Iowa—Grassley; Arizona— McCain; Georgia—Isakson; Florida—Rubio; North Carolina—Burr; Pennsylvania—Toomey; Wisconsin—Johnson; Ohio—Portman.

To be FAIR, and I hate this, Trump dragged Blunt over the finish line in Missouri. Kanter was a great candidate; a huge loss. So, what will the coattails be like this year? You first.

Why do pigs get castrated in the first place? I would guess that it makes them more docile and cooperative in agreeing to things that are contrary to their own best interest? Sounds like a trump supporter.

Not thinking the pigs have a say in the matter; we used to get a capon for Sunday dinner. Basically a castrated chicken, supposedly more meat. I have no degree in animal husbandry, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express recently.......

Well, your degree qualifies you for Secretary of Energy. That's the same degree Rick Perry has!

The story I was told back in the early 80’s was if you miss one of the testicles the meat will taste terrible.

They got me in so many ways in IA back then. I was told they were ‘cutting’ pigs. I thought they were sorting them. They spray a medicine type chemical on them after castration.

When I went to pull the chicken wire and clean when they were chopping heads and dunking in hot water, I dry heaved. Still the worst.

Lots of fun and great memories. Wife just lost a brother. It’s like small farmers only get to retire when they die.

There's a nice tone of Upton Sinclair in this piece. Well done.

Yep, if you're not toeing the racist line in Iowa, I imagine many would consider you a loon.

Her entire campaign seemed to be claiming that she would 'cut pork' spending because as a girl she castrated pigs. That actually worked on voters, and she then immediately became part of the corrupt Republicans in the Senate.

No shock if her corruption spread to the dark money coordination. Voters got what they deserved.

The meat on the boars is more tender because of the lack of testosterone in addition to being less agressive.

There are two reasons to castrate a male pig: behavior and meat quality.

Uncastrated male pigs, called boars, are known for aggression. Boars will bite, shove and jump on other pigs. Boars can also be hard for workers to handle, and boar aggression can be a risk to worker safety. Castrating a male pig will reduce these behaviors.

Some boars also produce “boar taint” or “off odors.” Boar taint does not affect food safety, but it does change how meat tastes and smells. Some describe it as a “musk” or a smell similar to onions or manure. The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service does not allow meat with a boar taint smell to enter the human food supply.

Boar taint is associated with the hormones produced naturally in uncastrated male pigs. Scientists think the odor evolved to attract female pigs. Castrated male pigs, called barrows, do not have testicles, so they cannot produce these sex hormones.

She was always known as a Koch mouthpiece. She voted for corporate interests. Republicans only care about pork that doesn't benefit their benefactors. Their claim of cutting spending and balancing the budget only matters as a talking point when they aren't in power of that house of Congress.

Why thank you, Ma'am!

I grew up in the farm country of Northcentral Ohio. My former brother in law worked on a hog farm. I can still tell the difference between hog, chicken, sheep, horse, and cow poo 4 miles away when a farmer cleans the barn or spreads manure on the fields.

Your resume is much more interesting than mine!

No ****!

Phony Joni has a long history of supporting ‘nullification’ of federal laws, a pro-slavery position. She believes that states should not have to follow federal laws. This dart to the far-right helped her win the GOP primary in 2014.

Her seat was Congressman Braley’s to lose, and he did so getting caught on a hot mic disparaging Grassley as just a farmer not a lawyer, not qualified to be the chair of Senate Judiciary, even though it was true.

Grassley gives Ernst a lot of cover on the tariff disaster and favoring corn over oil. You now see her to the right of Moscow Mitch at his pressers.

There are two good Democrats in the primary. The problem is CD-04. I use this link for newspapers: USNPL

The idea that states don't have to follow state law would nullify the US Constitution, especially the Supremacy Clause. It's an asinine idea but still beloved by bigots who claim to support states' rights. The idea of states' rights being equal to the federal government died at a little place called Appromattox Courthouse over 150 years ago.

It's scary that I understand what you mean.

You grew up out in the great wide open too?

I learned how to drive stick shift transmission on a John Deere tractor when I was helping a friend with her chores.

Live there now. One of my friends was a rancher before he passed.

The Democrats need to be more worried about Peters in Michigan than Ernst in Iowa. New Mexico's open seat is another potential headache.

I spent the past year providing John Deere with robotic automation systems to build combines. Does that count?

In fact, Friday night I received a “thank you very much” email from them after my electrical engineer resolved an ongoing problem with the final system.

The difference between you and I is that I can analyze the strengths and weaknesses of BOTH parties. You just cherry-picked one word from my post and ran with it dishonestly.

You also didn’t bother to look inside your own glass house at the ultimate carnival barking loon, Trump.

That's pretty funny right there. A giant partisan hack calling out another poster for being a partisan hack

Tell me could you even for that with a straight face

Can I point out that this democratic primary is very competitive and it is still a bit before the first caucuses. I thought everyone wanted a competitive primary and not a coronation?
