[h=1]The Traitors Among Us[/h]by Rick Wilson

America once used the words “treason” and “traitors” only in cases of actual betrayal of our nation’s most vital secrets or interests. They were profound words, deep with meaning, grim in import, carrying with them the knowledge that the penalty for treason was death.

Be honest: The words “traitor” and “treason” don’t have the sting they once had; they’ve been devalued from mis- and over-use by this president. For Donald Trump, any opposition, either personal, ideological, or political is treason. Anyone who stands in his path betrays the Great Leader. Anyone who fails to take the knee is a traitor.

Like hearing an insult too many times drains it of its potency, Trump has diluted the power of that approbation. He has labeled loyal, dedicated Americans who served this country in the military and law enforcement as traitors, so much so that we could almost give in to the temptation to excuse it as “Trump being Trump” and let it slide like any of the other insults he vomits forth on the daily.

Which is a shame, because America is in the midst of a treason boom right now, and more than a few people in Trump’s immediate orbit — and Trump himself — richly and actually deserve the title of traitor, and the treason inherent in their acts and words is apparent.

Traitors from Benedict Arnold to Klaus Fuchs to Aldrich Ames to Robert Hanssen sold out this country for a host of reasons, all explicable and unforgivable. The intelligence community even has a handy acronym for the motivations of traitors, and one that applies readily to known cases. The acronym is MICE: Money, Ideology, Compromise, and Ego. Pick a traitor and one of those reasons will underpin their betrayal.
Add a new one to the acronym. Call it, MICE-T, with the “T” naturally standing for Trump.

Their treason isn’t executed in the old ways of secret meetings, furtive brush passes, or encrypted messages. No, the traitors of today show us their cards on cable TV, laughing and giggling over their betrayal of the oath they swore, and the security of this country, all for the political service of Donald Trump.

As the impeachment hearings have worn on and as evidence of the complete moral collapse of the Republican Party has become more and more evident, it has become quite obvious there really are traitors among us. There are elected officials who have made the decision to protect a corrupt president by embracing conspiracy theories, refusing to acknowledge sworn testimony of career foreign-service officials, and piling on to Trump’s attack of democratic institutions.

The traitors deliberately ignore the reporting, counsel, and warnings of the intelligence community when it comes to Russia’s attacks and Vladimir Putin’s vast, continuing intelligence and propaganda warfare against the United States.

Rick Wilson was appointed by Dick Cheney to serve in the Department of Defense during the biggest betrayal of the American people during my lifetime, the Iraq War. Wilson is one of the last of the old stale GOP'ers left who long for the days of invading the Middle East for fun & profit. I literally could not care less about what Cheney's stooge thinks of Donald Trump.

Willingly looking the other way from all of the democrats who've used that exact same set of words to describe Trump, or his supporters. his is probably one of the many things that you have in common with many of the other ideologues who throw this same idiocy around.

Rudy Giuliani was nicknamed 'America's Mayor' and was named Time Magazine Person of the Year in 2001. Giuliani is a Roman Catholic who is pro-choice, supports same-sex civil unions, and embryonic stem cell research. The attacks on September 11, 2001, thrust Rudy Giuliani onto the national stage. For a city in crisis, Giuliani, the mayor of New York, was seen as a steady leader. He helped rally those in grief and is often remembered for his fortitude during those times. He presented himself as a tough-on-crime mayor who was going to clean up the city.

By the time he ran for president in 2007, his disclosure forms showed that he'd gone from having less than $5 million in assets when he left City Hall to about somewhere between $20 million and $50 million in assets, and much of that had come through these foreign business relationships. A lot of that work remains mysterious. For example, his work in Turkey and with an Iranian dissident group may have broken the law.

Giuliani was once a crusader against organized crime and – as mayor of New York – for zero tolerance against the pettier ones. His career is now a byword for the moral descent that characterizes public life.

As you can see, people change, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. Rick Wilson didn't leave the Republican party but believes the party doesn’t care about any of the issues that used to drive the party. Now they care about Trump. At least Rick Wilson knows right from wrong and good from evil and opposes Trump because he represents wrong and evil. Rudy Giuliani on the other end of the spectrum used to fight against wrong and evil and now he's the epitome of all those things he once fought against.

Bull****. I'm in the straight up calling it what it is category. Idiot leftist twats in this country vowed on 9 Nov 2016 to impeach Trump and have spent the last three years fabricating bull**** to try to bring it about. The idiot left is a collective of traitorous twats...the entire ****ing lot of them. They would rather sell out the entire country in the name of their **** party than act like adults that lost an election because they put forward a piece of **** candidate.

Or perhaps Rick Wilson is a Bush family crony, having served during Bush era by way of Cheney appointing him, and he's relegated to writing hit pieces on Trump for Lib Dem magazines now, because Jeb Bush was spectacularly defeated by Donald Trump in the Republican primary 3 years ago. Perhaps Rick Wilson was going to be rewarded with a powerful position in the Jeb Bush White House that Trump thankfully prevented, and he's bitter about it. So bitter that he would write articles for Rolling Stone, which has hated every Republican going back to Nixon.

Giuliani did some great things for NYC, after the city was destroyed by decades of horrible Democratic mayors. Giuliani is no different from every other politician who upon leaving office expects to be rewarded for what he did in office.

Simplistic minds come up with simplistic ideas and beliefs, like yours. You guys just keep repeating that to yourselves, you only have ninety percent of republicans believing it so keep up the good work and get that last ten percent to believe.

No matter what, the republicans come out on the wrong end of decency. I also think it will have consequences for several gop senators come election time. The right has painted themselves into a corner where they can't escape damaging themselves one way or another.

Goodness....the hatred sure does stink around here. Duly Elected President Trump has been falsely accused and harassed by you fools for over three years now....how do you expect him to act? How would you feel in his place, knowing you did not collude with Russia, did not obstruct justice, did not do a "quid pro quo" like Joe Biden, etc., etc. There is NO "evidence" from the impeachment inquiry, just opinions and seemingly job interviews, from all these people telling of their experience in working for the government....but this is an impeachment inquiry, not an opinion analysis spoken by me, to say how I would of done things better than Trump. Like the old Wendy's commercial..."where's the beef?"....."where's the evidence"....is it still out there somewhere, just hoping that you will find it?

Who gives a damn how he feels? Nobody could possibly be in his place, because nobody is as dirty, dishonest, arrogant, and compromised as Trump is. He's a damned traitor to the pledge he took to protect and serve the people and the U.S. constitution. There's still a lot of doubt about the 'duly elected' part anyway since Russia had a heavy hand in his election as proven by the results of Mueller's investigation.

Crazy....several years of investigations...millions and millions of taxpayers dollars spent and NOTHING! There was NO Russian collusion between Trump and his campaign....get over it already.

I love it when you people speak from the heart.....we see clearly your intense hatred and it has blinded you to any rationale.

You're the one that should 'get over' this delusional world you've been living in. There is no crime as 'collusion'. You knew that, right? You knew that collusion is not a codified crime, right? Oh no, you obviously did not know that and you still won't believe that because you want to cling to that for one of your singular Fox talking points. Facts are facts, "collusion" is not a crime. I hope that's clear now and sinks in, it may take a while.

The Mueller investigation clearly proved that the Trump campaign, its advisors and the president himself coordinated with Russia to help Trump win the 2016 presidential election. Trump's campaign welcomed interference in OUR U.S. free election from an adversary, an enemy to the United States. Indeed, Special Counsel Robert Mueller was authorized to investigate “any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump” and to prosecute federal crimes arising from that investigation. That's precisely what the special counsel did, they investigated individuals associated with the campaign and prosecuted those crimes. That's why Paul Manafort sits in prison, that's why Cohen sits in prison, that's why Popadopoulos spent time in prison, that's why Roger Stone was convicted on 5 counts and waits to see how long he'll spend in prison and his convictions are 100% connected to the Trump campaign. That's why Michael Flynn, a Trump administration appointee is waiting for his sentencing to find out how long he's going to spend in prison and why campaign co-char Rick Gates pleaded guilty and is cooperating with the FBI. It's why 13 Russian Nationals and 12 Russian Military Officers were indicted.

So when you erroneously claim "no collusion" you are dead wrong 100%. And by the way, the entire investigation could turn a profit for the government, thanks to Paul Manafort’s asset forfeiture. Manafort agreed to forfeit real estate and cash estimated to be worth between $42 million and $46 million.

There was plenty of Russian collusion in the 100's of contacts with Russian operatives during his campaign and even today when Trump, Barr and all his cronies are spouting Putin's propaganda about Ukraine being responsible for the hacking of the DNC. Our "hatred" of Trump pales before his supporters hatred of all that want the truth about Trump revealed. You all are willfully ignorant and that is the lowest a person can get.

You know that same Saudi king who was the ruler of the 911 attackers???

So where is that trump strongman act when dealing with the saudis??

Sure is funny.. trump hates every leader in the free world, but bends over for every two bit dictator in the planet..

Also and off topic, but..

You do realize that there is no scenario where trump and his supporters are not remembered historically as total garbage???

Right..
from either political narrative..

Remember all the teachers, college professors, scientists and media are in a vast conspiracy to discredit conservatives??

Right??

Who retires the history books? Lol
