Republicans angry and concerned about Schiff release of phone records

Republicans angry and concerned about Schiff release of phone records

This is probably not illegal since they only got numbers to and from, but having been limited to that, the reason for going public with the names can only be distilled down to a veiled threat to those in the Trump orbit not to communicate, and to Republicans friendly journalists’ sources that their confidentiality is at risk.

The second point is would the carriers have fought the subpoena if it was for members of the Democrats orbit?

This impeachment scam is getting dangerous to everyone. There are several private citizens who have been exposed as “being in a circle of people who like Trump” because Schiff stole their anonymity.

You should read your own link; according to it even a Republic lawmaker (unnamed), stated that there's nothing illegal here.

Hey remember that time Russia hacked the DNC's email server and dumped thousands of their private emails on wiki leaks for the world to see? Did that bother you? I mean at least Schiff is an American who has his own countries best interest in heart. Russia's goal was very obviously to subvert the United States and make it more difficult to respond to the threats Russia posed.

You remember that time that the dnc clicked a bogus link in a penis enlargement ad? Which allowed Russia to get in?

Schiff is a liar that is exposing and doxing people in his quest to get trump, but guess what? It backfired it didn't show what schiff wanted it to show.

Again the only people with the necks up in Russians are the democrats.

Of course they can-especially if those documents, like phone records held by a third party, are already in the public domain. Read the link. All of it.

Read the supreme law of the land:

4th Amendment

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Phone records are private. To get them, the government must first have probable cause, then get a warrant.

From your source: "legitimate legislaive, or oversight"

Obtaining private phone records has nothing to do with legislation, nor oversight.

Rudy G was dealing directly with 2 persons who have been indicted, this is how they conduct a conspiracy investigation, you get statements from witnesses who stated they talked on the phone with certain persons who actively participated in the criminal acts.

You have been wrong over and over.

I used your own source to prove you wrong and you want to start talking about Guilliani. :lamo

Investigating criminals is the new "totalitarian fascist state"? I'm old enough to remember 3 years ago when the right wingers respected law enforcement, including the FBI and DoJ for keeping thugs and criminals off the streets.

Congress doesn't have the authority to conduct criminal investigations.

It is a conspiracy, meaning more than 1 person. You keep yelling about the 4th amendment, yet refuse to understand how the Congress has the power to subpoena.

Congress doesn't have the authority to conduct criminal investigations.

If you want to cite some law about what Congress can and can't do with regard to documents, phone calls, texts and other information, do it, otherwise I don't care what someone who's AFAIK completely ignorant of the law has to say on the subject.

It has nothing to do with the topic. You got smoked and now you want to change the subject...lol

Congress doesn't have the authority to conduct criminal investigations.

Congress can investigate and then refer to FBI and/or federal prosecutors.

Congress doesn't have the authority to conduct criminal investigations.

Then why did repugs try to get the impeachment inquiry switched to an investigation into Biden's criminality?

Because you fail to understand how Congress has the power to subpoena does not make you correct. Not changing the subject, I am explaining to you how and why.

You've failed to show how Congress has the power to issue subpoenas seizing private property. The reason for that failure is because no such power exists.

Then why did repugs try to get the impeachment inquiry switched to an investigation into Biden's criminality?

Because he was vice president when it happened.

Oh, but citizens are just collateral damage and incidental, so it's all good:roll:

Notice how they trip over their tongues, or run away when challenged?

Telephone records are legally subpoenaed and are used for evidence.

A subpoena is a legally enforceable demand for documents, data, or witness testimony. ... The Supreme Court has recognized Congress's power to issue subpoenas, saying in order to write laws it also needs to be able to investigate. Congress' power to issue subpoenas, while broad, is not unlimited.

Facts scare you? You've been well conditioned.

Do you have a clue what Schiff did? Indications aren't favorable.

You've been conditioned to repeat alternative facts. So I'm pretty sure you don't have a clue what Schiff did.

You forgot......speculated, assumed, figured, wondered, heard it though the grapevine,

...read it in the transcript...saw it on the TV....heard it on NPR.

You were the one who asked if anyone "heard" about it.

But we all know this is just a lie anyway that Russia or China or Ukraine would do anything Trump wanted. Have you heard of any if them knuckling under?

Yes, I heard, read and saw Zelensky kiss Trump's ass to get the military funding. Happy now?

Schiffty violated the 4th Amendment.

Schiffty violated the 4th Amendment.

Trumpty Dumbty violated the emolument clause, campaign finance laws and his oath of office. And all the kings lawyers and all the kings toadies can't hide his misdeeds now that he's getting impeached.
