What If Trump Loses In 2020 And Refuses To Leave?

As much as I don't want four more years of Trump, I'm fully aware that at this point, the inept Dems are very unlikely to defeat him, so the catastrophic scenario being depicted here is not going to happen.

What happens if Trump loses in 2020 — and refuses to leave?

Had to laugh at all this. Sure sounds like what the Democrats have been doing for three years now. Some things from the article:

Who would be the strongest standard-bearer if the fight goes on past the election, beyond the experience of history?

believe that he would refuse to recognize electoral defeat

I fear that if he loses the election in 2020, that there will never be a peaceful transition of power

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is also skeptical, having “told associates that she does not automatically trust the president to respect the results of any election short of an overwhelming defeat,”

I am deeply concerned about the possibility that a close election that the Democrats win would be interpreted by Trump as not having achieved a mandate

He can demand recounts, do all kinds of things to raise doubts about the legitimacy of a Democratic victory.”

A lot might depend on the margin of the victory; a close election obviously would be easier for Trump and his supporters to contest and discredit.

Yep, sounds just like Democrats to me.

$50 says Melania pushes him down the stairs and becomes a grieving widow. The kids will be too busy to attend the funeral.

If Trump loses the election, he will spend all the time between the election and the inauguration trying to discredit the election. He will resist in every way possible, but in the end he will go quietly because although he talks tough, he's a *****. He won't be there for the inauguration, though. He'll slink out the back door beforehand.

And claim his was bigger...

At this point the biggest threat to refusing to concede will be the democrat primary with frontrunners faltering, at this point I almsot think they are planning a brokered convention with te amount running and frintrunners shifting around in individual states and the nationwide frontrunner making statements that can easily ruin even the most popular candidates chances.

Back in November of 2016, didn’t the democrats and media ask what happens if Trump losses to Hillary and Trump doesn’t accept the results, there would be months of court actions.
When will these morons get anything right.

Yth are you even worried about it because he would be removed from office!

You might not be laughing when he doesn't leave power peacefully, which I don't think he will.

Then again, you might be.

LOL!! I don't know how your kool aid supplier keeps up with the huge demand.

Same was said about Obama. And Bush.

At this point I do not see Trump losing.
But whenever he leaves office, I speculate shortly to follow Trump and Melania will release a tell all book of their time in Washington and it will be a doozy that a lot of folks in Washington including others internationally and the MSM are likely dreading. And after their book tour, they retire to Mar a Lago.

I used to collect books written by well known people in administrations. I thought it was great history right there on my bookshelf. Over the last few years I have quit the hobby as most every book written is nothing but National Enquirer material. The focus is on lying or exaggerating to sell as many book copies is possible. It is impossible to determine what is actually fact and what is fiction.

The answer to the question is "nothing" because it's not going to happen. It's just the feverish thoughts of those that have voided their ability to reason and replaced it with their rabid ideology.

We just had an election for governor and Republican Matt Bevin lost in a close race. He wanted a recount and all of a sudden rabid Democrats were coming out with the nonsense that he would not cede power by claiming some kind of fraud and then the Republican legislature would decide who was governor. Never happened. After the recount, Bevin conceded.

You mean like many Democrats refused to attend Trump's inauguration?

Same was said about Obama. And Bush.

Neither of them actually talked about how their followers would demand that he stay in power. Trump has. Neither of them spoke hopefully about being President for Life. Trump has.

If I recall correctly, the Obama's did attend, do you believe trump would, I doubt it.

Don't know but for three years now the left has been trying to predict what Trump might do. How about just waiting to see if something actually happens and then comment? The left always proclaim Trump to be guilty of something that he hasn't done and hasn't done yet and may never do.

after this disaster trump i think is going to win in a landslide.
this whole thing has turned voters off on these leftist idiots.

once we get to the senate and trump is exonerated
he is going to then go on the offensive.

He won't lose. He is pretty much guaranteed to win at this point.

Don't discount democrat dirty tricks. The Senate investigation of the Russian probe did turn up something interesting that most Americans did not pick up on. American experts testified of the numerous vulnerabilities current voting machines have to undetectable manipulation. I believe a party desperate enough to make fools of themselves to try to get rid of Trump dishonestly will not hesitate to dump millions of dirty dollars into efforts to gain keys to voting machines in choice districts that can be secretly tampered with to give them better but unlawful final numbers in the election.

Cape Town. Mandela's prison he was exiled to. It's just a museum now though.

I can't think of a more worthy punishment than Trump having to live out his days in a museum.
(I keed, I keed)

Won't matter. Secret service will remove him by force if needed.

Of all the things to worry about, the possibility of a president overstaying his term is truly a nothing burger.

Democrats wouldn't mess with the voting machines. Impeachment inquiry? Yes. Lies and manipulation via media? You bet.

But no one working for our government would tamper with our voting machines.

Don't know about the left, but so far everything I thought he would do he has done, he really his not that unpredictable

Welcome to democracy where low information voters possess equivalent power to high information voters.

And where high money voters get the best government money can buy.

Tru dat. Trump's depending on that FOX crowd to win. There aren't enough of them so now he has Gulianni in the Ukraine working on plan B. LOL!
