Just another shining example of the different standards Republicans and Democrats, especially woman, are held to.

The fact that Maxine Waters is still darkening doorways in the Capitol is proof to the contrary.

A perfect example of the Party of Personal Responsibility.

The last sitting Congressman to be convicted of crimes who failed to resign was expelled from Congress by a near-unanimous vote (I believe 1 congressman voted against expulsion).

Why do I think the Republican Party of today might vote differently?

Figures.

Maybe the thief is hoping for a pardon.

We are learning that the law can't overturn the results of a democratically held election, even if the elected official is a career criminal, but he must be a Republican.

Get back to us when she's been convicted of any felonies.

Maxine Waters has been consistently named, even by liberal watchdog groups, and one of the most corrupt members of Congress for steering tens of millions of taxpayer dollars to family businesses and to save herself from financial ruin during the financial crisis. Your felony is small potatoes by comparison.

Well, no.

She's never been indicted, let alone convicted. Your feelings don't trump the law.

It's funny, I've been hearing a lot of "innocent until proven guilty" from the right recently, but I guess that's diffe(r)ent.

The facts are what they are and what they are is that Maxine Waters is a thief several orders of magnitude above Hunter. Trump hasn’t been indicted or convicted either.

...but Duncan Hunter has been convicted.

And this thread is about him.

You made this thread about partisan standards. Duncan Hunter plead guilty because some people are charged for their corruption unlike Maxine Waters.

No, that was you. Did you forget already?

Duncan Hunter plead guilty because some people are charged for their corruption unlike Maxine Waters.

Duncan Hunter plead guilty because his wife took a plea deal and said she'd testify against him. Because he's guilty.

Waters is not guilty. She hasn't even been charged. Your pathetic attempt at whataboutism fails.

Waters is not guilty.

You must be one of those folks who believe that she got OneUnited Bank in the door for a $12 million bailout out of the random goodness of her heart and not because her husband owned $500,000 in its stock.

...and you're still desperately trying to deflect away from Hunter.

Democratic Party officials do not have to follow any laws and paying taxes is optional.

He's one of the first two Congressmen to endorse trump in 2016.

Both have been convicted of crimes. One was charged with 8 felonies, the other with 60.

Funny how that worked out isn't it? Like moths to a flame.

Okay let me try a 'whatabout-ism', just like the right has been doing continually for 3 years.

What about Mitch McConnell for starters?

Mitch McConnell BUSTED Helping Donors Get Contracts From His Wife - The Ring of Fire Network

Mitch McConnell has been caught red-handed, thanks to a trove of more than 800 emails, directing business leaders from his state of Kentucky to meet with his wife, Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao. These emails show a coordinated effort by McConnell to repay the people who have helped him throughout his career, and it also shows that both McConnell and Chao are using their connections and their personal relationship for political gain. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains why BOTH McConnell and Chao need to be removed from office immediately.

According to more than 800 emails that were obtained via freedom of Information Act request. Mitch Mcconnell has been directing businesses from the state of Kentucky to his wife who happens to run the department of Transportation. Elaine Chao, who is the secretary of transportation in the United States. He has been directing people to her so that she can meet with them and give these sweetheart deals to people back in Mcconnell’s home state so that he can appease the people who help to put him in office. This, ladies and gentlemen is a perfect example of not just cronyism with Mcconnell and his wife Chow, you know, directing people back and forth trying to help McConnell’s campaign. It is a pay to play. It is corruption, and it is without a doubt or should be without a doubt enough to remove these two from office forever.

But wait, there's more.... Senator Chuck Grassley.

Chuck Grassley plans to take Trump's federal farm bailout cash, calls it 'equal treatment'

U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley, a lifelong farmer in northeast Iowa's Butler County, says he plans to participate in President Donald Trump's $12 billion bailout program intended to cushion the negative effects of trade tariffs on the prices of farm commodities.

"This is something you get because you are a farmer — equal treatment for everybody," Grassley said Wednesday during his weekly conference call with Iowa reporters. "It is not something special for Chuck Grassley because he is a senator or Jon Tester," a Democratic U.S. senator from Montana, who also plans to participate in the federal program.

Grassley said he won't know how much federal money he will receive until his crops are harvested and records are taken to a Farm Service Agency office to find out.

The Washington Post reported that Grassley and Tester are the only lawmakers among about two dozen contacted who said they would apply for the new bailout money. Twelve members said they would not apply and 13 either declined to comment or hadn't yet responded to a request for comment.

Not enough yet? Okay, there's more. Let's talk about the farmers and the bailouts.

Trump’s $28 Billion Trade War Bailout Is Overpaying Farmers

Bloomberg - Are you a robot?

President Donald Trump’s $28 billion farm bailout may be paying many growers more than the trade war with China has cost them.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s calculations overshot the impact of the trade conflict on American soybean prices, according to six academic studies, a conclusion that is likely to add to criticism that the bailout has generated distortions and inequalities in the farm economy.

“It’s clear that the payment rates overstated the damage suffered by soybean growers,” said Joseph Glauber, the USDA’s former chief economist who published a review of the research in late November. “Based on what the studies show, the damages were about half that.”

I can find much, much more evidence of corruption in Trump's administration but that should suffice for the time being.

In Illinois, we have lots of Democratic felons currently in office.

He’s just redistributing wealth. Why you got a problem with poor farmers?

I don't know the exact number, but many in Congress (most?) are unconvicted felons.

In Illinois, we have lots of Democratic felons currently in office.

It's a safe bet that there are some Republicans in that class also.
