I think that there are some who just sorta hang in there for GOP sake. But Trump's hardcore defenders are a cult. They are completely and utterly out of their minds, and they're willing to throw the Republic under the bus to excuse and defend their Chosen One.

Show me someone better to vote for that has my interests and I would vote for them over trump no problem.

The guy from star bucks caught my interest but he dropped out unfortunately.

Other than that there is no one else. The dnc is a disaster. They didn't learn their lesson from clinton and in fact are doubling down on it.

Bingo! There's no 2020 Democrat that I think Trump should not be an aegis against, for the sake of America.
 
These people don't get it.

We don't say they're a cult because we disagree on policy. We say you're A cult because:

You literally never criticize anything he does
You spin -every story- no matter how damning into some "positive spin"
You call Trump "My President" or "Your President" in lieu of "The President," in both a religious and sardonic way to either upset liberals, or accidentally admit the truth; that you view his presidency as a personal one, personal to you, specifically
You refuse to admit when Trump himself says things, and twist it into a positive, even when you and others stand to lose personally
And the biggest one of all; you project onto everyone else that they are a cult, the cult of removing Donald or of MSNBC or some other entity; you are constructing an insane cult of personality, like you did with Nixon and Reagan

So no, it's not that we call you a cult because we disagree. It's because you -are- in a cult, and you -act like it.-

This poses a lot of questions we as Democrats should ask, such as whether there is anything that can be done to help 25% of the country be less susceptible to cult leader con men, but a thread I had recently on this was locked for 'moderator review' for days now for unknown reasons, so who knows about discussing the topic.

the republic isn't going under a bus. Trump has a lot of bad qualities, but he alone has been able to advance points of view I readily adhere to. why would I not ask for SOLID evidence of wrongdoing before getting rid of him?

I'm trying hard to think of how twisted those points of view need to be that someone could ignore criminality and treason of this magnitude. The only one that makes any sense would be wanting the US to cede the planet to Putin and any number of other autocrats on it.
