Well, it appears that the House is done with testimonies unless someone else decides to come forward. I've watched a bit of some of the testimonies, and caught highlights of others, and the case is very strong imo as to what Trump and his lackeys tried to do. It is obvious to all who don't want to defend him for everything he does that he leaned on the freshman president of a desperate country to make announcements about investigating the Bidens and Crowdstrike. There is zero indication that Trump cared about corruption in Ukraine or anywhere else, he simply wanted political dirt to muddy up Joe Biden.

That said, I don't think he'll actually be impeached. Obviously none of the Repubs will vote for impeachment, but I foresee a good handful of moderate Dems in swing districts alos not voting for impeachment. Enough to prevent him from being impeached.

That said, if somehow there is enough to impeach him, it's a foregone conclusion he will not be convicted. I feel pretty strongly that at least 2 Democrats will also not vote to convict: Doug Jones and Joe Manchin. And I can also see Kyrsten Sinema voting against conviction as well.

So what are your predictions?

They're going to have a few articles of impeachment drawn up. It will pass the House, the Senate will stonewall a acquit.

He will be impeached by the House. But the Senate full of cowards and yellowbellies might not convict. But they should. Trump needs to start being held accountable for all his dubious behavior.

House: impeach
Senate: acquit

I'm wondering how broad the articles of impeachment will be. Will they be limited to Ukraine or will they include anything like Trump obstructing justice or lying in his written answers in the Mueller investigation?

I am fairly sure Trump will be impeached.

The fireworks show will be amazing.

Won't that happen in November 2020?

I agree with your assessment and expect some more time wasting and pontificating by congress critters. It might be interesting to see how long the republicants in Senate can keep the Senators with DNC POTUS hopes tied up playing show trial and present "witnesses" to bash Biden a bit more.

The answer was basically always impeach in the House and not the Senate. That's regardless of if they literally had a recording of him explicitly doing what he's accused of.

Nothing Burger.

The Democrat Party will continue to implode.

Dems will end up looking just as pathetic as they did after the Kavanaugh hearings, and the Mueller investigation. It's become a bit of a trend as of late.

That is a good question. I would imagine that the smart move would be to keep them as brief as possible, so as to limit the duration of the Senate clown show as much as possible since it ties up the DNC POTUS hopefuls from their primary campaigning. On the other hand, those are the least likely (being the furthest left) candidates to win the 2020 general election so Pelosi may deem it wise to see them tied up as long as possible to give Biden and Buttigieg a better head start.

House will impeach; Senate will acquit.

Nope. They will call each and every witness and challenge their motives for allowing themselves to be used. And LTC Vindeman? He’ll be stationed on the North/South Korean border.

And the secret whistleblower, Eric Ciaramella, will probably land in prison.

Sure sounded like impeachment is a sealed deal according to Shiffty's closing remarks today.

Let them impeach. Bring on the vote!

I look forward to Senate Republican lawmakers, Mike Lee of Utah, John Kennedy of Louisiana, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Tom Cotton of Arkansas and Ted Cruz of Texas take their bogus claims apart with glee.

Same. I think Sinema will not vote to impeach.

The House will impeach, the Senate won't. It will be a hot topic on social media for a week or two, and then people will move on to something else.

gonna give Pelosi the benefit of the doubt that she realizes the downside of impeachment and says NO impeachment vote.

I do hope I'm wrong because I'd like to see a trial in Senate....

House impeaches, Senate acquits.

We've known that from the start.

Trump wins 2020 after the Senate shoots down the impeachment.

Thanks Democrats for ****ing up the oval office for another 4 years.

The House will impeach, pass how many articles of impeachment they so desire. The vote will be pretty much along party lines. Probably a couple of Republicans will join the Democrats voting to pass the articles, a few Democrats will vote against the articles. But they will pass. The senate acquits, also roughly along party lines. Perhaps two Democratic senators vote nay, maybe 4-5 GOP senators vote AYE to convict and remove.

No, you don't. You can save the reverse psychology .
