Vindman's lawyer requests Fox News retract guest's allegation about espionage

That is a wonderful goal, yet who, exactly, would serve as the new "ministry of truth" and how would that be compatible with freedom of speech? At the point where we had such a "ministry of truth" to make sure that we get only the "official" version of any "news" story that bias would only get worse.

That is because, as it now stands, most media bias is accomplished by simple omission. If "news" about X remains unreported then did it ever really happen? For example, where is the "news" story on precisely what Hunter Biden was being paid more than the POTUS to do for Burisma?

Freedom of speech will work the same way that the freedom to keep and bear arms will work. Those that are properly licensed, trained and have passed an extensive background check will be allowed to have the completely unrestricted freedom to posses and use the words and weapons allowed them by congress provided they abide by the rules and regulations established for the safety and security of the people.

SIAP. Identify the lie FOX NEWS should retract.

"Yoo replied: "I found that astounding. Some people might call that espionage."

Sounds like you're saying that it's the truth.

Some people are probably saying it is espionage. Yoo isn't saying it, though, and FOX NEWS is reporting it accurtately. What, are you forcing FOX NEWS to report without a bias? Are you gonna demand all news outlets report without biases?:lamo

oh. i see. so Republicans (from the Party of God) are saying that this military man committed espionage.

oh, this just keeps getting better and better.

Democrats accuse republicans of crimes they did not commit but they go ape when one of their own is accused of possible espionage just for deliberately single-handedly undermining the president's foreign policies in Ukraine. Go figure.

They usually spoke in the language the President understands. Why would that be espionage or not in the best interest of administration policy?

Yoo isn't saying that. All republicans aren't saying that. Some might, though, which makes it a true statement.

Which is why I get my news from Allsides.com and use youtube for reporting.

Allsides is a fairly decent filter and does "bias label" its sources fairly well, but also includes loads of opinion and news analysis content. Using your stated criteria it fails your test of being a "straight news" source. What can be noted by looking at Allsides is that many news events are covered only by biased sources (i.e. there is most often no left, center and right presentation of that same "news" event) - making it plain for all to see that most media bias is accomplished by simply not reporting any "news" that they don't want folks (there target audience) to know/hear about.

or, you know, ask Fox to retract a lie.

didn't you say you believe in the 10 Commandments? or is that a part time thing?

What lie wold that be?

Do you not know what an opinion is?

Yep, after one takes government approved classes, passes government approved tests and pays the required (non-refundable) application fees then they might be issued a Constitutional rights permit/license good for some predetermined period of time, but which may be cancelled at any time without due process. Any attempt to exercise those "rights" without having secured proper advance permission from the government (at all levels) to do so will result in a loss of those rights for life - freedom is not free.

My point about allsides is you can determine the spin before you even open the webpage for the opinion.

The BBC is better than most media in the US, but again, I get my news from youtube.

Somehow, I doubt you share that outrage over the many folks who assured us via MSM "news" sources that Trump had illegally colluded with Russia to meddle in the 2016 election.

The Mueller Report established and demonstrated collusion.

You'd of course have to actually read it to know that.

OK, and the House demorats apparently chose to let it slide because it was too complicated.

Are there any idiots left in our country that think the Republican Party is "pro" military? Or even "pro" Christian values?

Yes, but thinking that demonstrates that they are, indeed, idiots.

No real Christian supports a man who has no use for Christianity, broke too many of the Ten Commandments, doesn't know thing one about the Bible, never attended church, boasted that he won't apologize to God for his sins, supported partial birth abortion, and who wanted his own baby aborted so his wife didn't find out about his affair.

These people are fake Christians.

Trump sees the Ten Commandments more like a "To Do" list than proscription...

Figured that out on your own, did ya? Good job. The right has a hard time following a line of thought from one point to the next. Asking them to get to a third point on a straight line is nearly impossible. The hearings demonstrate that daily.

It was one of Pelosi's stated concerns.

Since when do Americans promote Putin's policies in Ukraine? Trump and Guilliani are. They work for Putin. Guilliani was paid $500,000 by Putin for his efforts too.

Which is just fine, esp. now that Pompeo, Bolton, Pence and Mulvaney are all directly implictated in this.

The idea that the Senate is going to remove both Trump and Pence over this "scandal", leaving Pelosi as POTUS, is beyond ridiculous.

Not really, because these "news" shows are known to spew confirmation bias to their loyal viewers - for the express purpose of gaining ratings which are required to get advertising revenue. The only way to stop this madness is for folks to no longer patronize those grossly biased "news" outlets/shows.

I agree and I think this is the fatal flaw in the news business today. “Get views or die”. These guest appearance gigs pay big money if they bring eyes to the channel. After all, that is how ad rates are set. They have only one financial interest, and that is to stay alive by feeding whatever bull**** it takes to keep those eyes on the channel. If it takes advocating that Antifa “Make America Ungovernable”, someone will feature a favorable segment on it and sprinkle blame where their audience wants it.

The only thing that will change it is the democrats getting wiped out in 2020 for making America feel like they have to look over their shoulders all the time. People are tired of being afraid of the left.

Agreed - that is never going to happen with a Republican Senate.

Huh, seeing as how I've never made any assertions about that idea, I fail to see the relevance.

This entire administration is corrupt to the gills, rife with criminality and mafia behavior.

The senate not honestly addressing that will be the GOP doom.
