Impeachment Hearing - Wednesday Nov 20 - Live Reaction

Another day of the circus. Another round in which the democrats didn't get what they wanted, and after the Republican cross of the witness, the democrats want to add another round for the chair/counsel adn will have to do same for Republicans. They have only done that twice I beleive and both times when it was obvious that they are not getting want they think they have to have. A clear, bribery accusation by a witness.
Trump never tells anyone to do it, and he clearly states, No Quid Pro Quo to Sondland. Which is a court of law, not a kangaroo democrat court, is propably plenty to provide doubt.

Opinions are not facts.

But thanks for sharing your personal feelings.

It's quite entertaining, especially when you claim to know how anyone is feeling.

Shall I go back and find you saying no quid pro quo?

I think we all knew that articles of impeachment were coming. But it still won't matter because there's no way the Senate would do anything other than Brand Protect.

We'll see. I wouldn't be surprised if a couple flipped after today. They all have elections coming up next year.

Ambassador Gordon Sondland said that President Trump and his personal lawyer, Rudolph W. Giuliani, sought to condition a White House invite for Ukraine's new president to demands that his country publicly launch investigations that could damage Trump's political opponents.

Yeah, looks really bad for the Dems.

Rudy!

We hardly knew ya!

It wasn’t a bus, it was an M-1 tank!

Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland, a rich hotel mogul who gave $1 million to President Trump’s inaugural committee, provided devastating testimony Wednesday morning, implicating Trump, Vice President Pence, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney and numerous other people in a “quid pro quo” arrangement of a White House visit for an announcement of investigations, not the investigations themselves. The sequence of events he testified to eviscerates the defenses that Trump was not directly involved in the scheme, that there was no quid pro quo, that Ukraine did not know about the deal and that Sondland was a rogue actor.

Yeah, REALLY bad for the Dems. What a circus.

Sondland must be pursuing a new career as a bus driver.

Nunes now complaining about what has been a very effective tactic, taking depositions the way depositions are supposed to be taken so that witnesses cannot tailor their testimony. I suspect Sondland has not done his last dance routine.

Yes. I've listened to it all.

Here's the reality.

You guys demanded no impeachment since there was no quid pro quo.

Now we know confirmed there was a quid pro quo.

You gonna support impeachment now, or come up with some other bull**** reply?

How quick are you gonna be to start saying trump didnt know the man?

You lot are devastated. I get it. Your man is in flames and his entire administration is implicated.

Just own it. Own it already. Ffs.

As you can see, they aren’t likely to do that.

Already they’re throwing anything they can think of at the wall.

Devin Nunes continues to prove he way, way out of his league here.

The difference between him and Schiff, whether it be in terms of seriousness or competence, is striking. He has nothing at all to offer other than scowls, conspiracy theories, and childish remarks.

Unlike a trial where an attorney with a brain never asks a question he does not already know the answer to, nobody had any idea what Sondland was actually going to do today including not show up or take the 5th or spill some number of beans. Sondland has clearly picked door number 3 but everybody had to scramble once they had his opening statement as that was actually the only real clue where Sondland was trying to go. Even that did not fully inform where Sondland was going. So the added time is justified.

Nunes left speechless....THANK GOD. Hope he knows more about farming.

Frankly to this point they shouldn't have. The only people really watching the taking of pulse (polls) on Impeachment are the airheaded 24/7 news channels because that is what they do. Anybody else looking at them at this point.......not really a realistic view.

Probably only the diehard's. I turned on the TV news and seen them talking about the impeachment hearings with a thousand guest to tell me, us exactly what we should think, then immediately switched channels to the MLB Network.

They can have their hearings, they aren't going to change anyone's minds. They're all made up, either you want Trump impeached and removed or you want him to stay. They're so few folks in-between those set in stone opinions, they don't matter much.

Magical minutes, huh?

Maybe you can translate (bolded) for me what Sondland said.

Sondland says he called Trump on Sept. 9 amid concerns from Taylor about the security assistance being withheld and had a very short abrupt call with an unhappy Trump, who was in a bad mood.
He says he asked Trump essentially: "What do you want?"
"I want nothing, I want nothing, I want no quid pro quo. Tell Zelensky to do the right thing," Trump said
, according to Sondland. "Something to that effect."

Goldman asks if he still believed after the phone call with Trump on Sept. 9 that the aid was conditioned on the announcement of investigations.
"From a timeframe perspective, yes," he said.

You are aware that that is the day that the Trump Administration learned about the whistleblower complaint, and that the “quid pro quo” smokescreen that the Trump accolades have been peddling since then originates from that date.

The Trump White House thought it could spin this by claiming that the behavior didn’t matter because the Ukranians never delivered. The ask is implicit in the talking point;....

I've been wondering how soon until we hear the words to Nunes: at long last, sir, have you no decency?

Well, you can always pretend...I guess.

Those numbers have moved around for weeks. That they have not moved around in the last couple of weeks is simply not meaningful. I like your polling posts, but you don't have some polling crystal ball.

You are the one that posted the polling data. Either its meaningful enough to post or ITS NOT. Which is it?

Which is an indictment of the modern Republican party and the faux reality they have created for themselves to live in. It's become clear how little anything at all matters to them outside of "owning the libs".

At this point everybody's just repeating the same story over and over.

Looks like it's, at worst, a minor campaign violation.
Pay the 500 dollar fine and move on.
Nobody's watching these hearings
