Today on tap:

In the morning
Gordon Sondland: Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, is expected to be the week's biggest witness. He revised his closed-door testimony to state that he told an aide to Zelensky that military assistance would not be released until Zelensky issued a statement agreeing to investigate Burisma, a gas company with ties to Biden's son.

This afternoon/evening

Laura Cooper: Cooper, the deputy assistant secretary of defense, said in her closed-door testimony that Trump directed the freezing of military aid via the Office of Management and Budget over corruption concerns.

David Hale
: Hale, the undersecretary of state for political affairs, spoke to what many officials described as Yovanovitch's questionable removal as ambassador to Ukraine during his closed-door testimony.

I am not sure what you think but after yesterday, I like it better when there is one session in a day. Yesterday was way too long and I am expecting the same today and tomorrow.

If this goes into next week, Please, please one session a day only. :)

I've got my Tivo set so I can try to catch some of Sondland's testimony later.

I got my hip-waders and popcorn ready for Sondland

(Songland? It got horrible ratings, simply horrible, singers singing? I don't get it)

Should be interesting to see whether he admits to the phone call or pleads the 5th.

If he pleads the 5th, it is over. There may still be some gray areas, but by and large pleading the 5th does not go over well with the general public.
Trump and Co, have a tight-rope to walk today, they need him to stay on point, and not reveal too much, while also not coming across as though he is covering for POTUS.
I don't think Sondland has the mojo to do this, convincingly.

The House impeachment "inquiry" hearings seem to be aimed at presenting what (carefully selected?) US government folks thought that Ukrainian government officials were being told and what those Ukrainians assumed the US aid situation to be. Why not get *gasp* the actual Ukrainian government officials (the alleged victims of Trump's extortion?) to tell us exactly what they were told and by who?

Just heard excerpts from Sondland's opening statement. Forget him taking the 5th. Sondland is going to do the deed!

I wish I could watch live, but I have to attend a thing with the head of a U.S. Department of Labor head talking about yadda yadda yadda.....(and take extensive notes) :(

I'm reading it now.
This is going to be bonkers!

Why not just release a recording of the call(s)?

Jim and NY21 are still going to throw poop like the excellent poo throwers they are.

Just heard parts of his written statement. Looks like the Songbird is going to sing.

That would still leave matters open to interpretation. If persons A and B are conversing then what person C thought was being discussed/understood is not nearly as important as getting that from the parties involved. After all, the Ukrainians can't claim executive privilege.

Sondland is so fidgety.

He has also been laughing with counsel, not sure if that is nerves or the relief of knowing the pressure, for the most part is now over.

Yeah. Written words of a verbal communication is way better. You can hear inflection and stuff.

God Almighty.

Looks like Rudy is going to get run over by the bus, have it back up to check what it hit, and then be run over again.

America's Mayor should have retired.

What is the over/under on how long into this hearing we get a Trump Tweet or two?
