CNN's SE Cupp weighs in on the first week of public impeachment inquiry hearings, blasting Republican lawmakers for how they used their time.

Do any of you guys have a twelve-year-old daughter who has come home and been really intimidated by the other girls at school or even the boys? And they felt really insecure?

That's Donald Trump.

When you have to declare to the world "I'm a very stable genius," you have some serious self esteem issues imo.

Ms. Cupp has some very good points.

I haven't watched her show in ages, but I happen to catch this. She's not one to take up this kind of position (that I've ever seen). Making that kind of statement, against one's own political "side", takes some spine. Good for her.

Some weather vane bull**** going on in this thread with people who have never agreed with Cupp before. I've agreed with her and disagreed with her, but she usually presents a solid argument.

As for the spine comment, she's on CNN, it will probably get her some water cooler cred and a raise.

I haven't seen her in a while, not sure what shows she was on when I did. I always thought of her as smart and reasonable, she has a well-rounded political outlook it seems. I agree with you, she does have backbone.

Nothing wrong with highlighting a sound argument, and she did here. Weird how people being intellectually honest, even conservatives, are calling out the GOP for their performance last week.

The attempted coup is a sham. It's an insult on the intelligence of everyday Americans.

Why legitimize the unilateral effort by treating it as anything but the scam that it is?

It's interesting to see the apologists in the media ramp up attacks on Republicans.

Obviously they know how Schiff and his co-conspirators are looking.

Calling it a coup is an insult to your own intelligence.

Are you even able to define the word coup?

I call it as I see it.

I can certainly define the word coup.

Would you like me to post the vote in the House authorizing the coup hearings?

You, like most other Republicans these days, call it as you are told to call it by Trump, Hannity, Limbaugh, Carlson, Ingraham, etc etc.

There has been an almost complete lack of interest in getting to the truth coupled with disingenuous arguments as to why we aren't hearing from the people more directly connected to what transpired.

Your projection is noted.

I'm not like Progressives. I haven't been trained to surrender to group think.

What was the vote total for the coup hearings in the House?

coup

1.
a sudden, violent, and illegal seizure of power from a government.
"he was overthrown in an army coup"

How do you see a legal impeachment proceeding the exact same as a sudden, violent, and illegal seizure of power?

Post the vote and then show us the exact law that was broken.

The Democrats coup has been sudden. Intimidation and threat can be considered violent. And the suspension of Constitutional rights is certainly illegal.

This sham is not bi-partisan. The vote in the House carved that in stone.

So, all the elements are in place.

The New Democratic Party is attempting to stage a coup, it's been sudden, violent, and illegal, and it's all because they can't handle the fact their chosen candidate lost in 2016.

What law was broken?

Just a friendly tip, but if you want to be taken even remotely seriously you can start by not referring to open public hearings based around finding facts as a "coup".

It's nonsensical speak straight from Trump and his enablers in Congress and the media that is not based in anything resembling reality.

Of course it's a coup. The "WB" lawyer admits it. AOC admits it. Other Democrats admit that this is all about preventing Trump from winning in 2020 (having moved on from trying to overthrow the 2016 election).

You do realize that Trump being impeached would make Pence the President, right? It's pretty odd for a coup to put a leader's deputy in charge.

The coup is coming anyway when anyone tries to remove Trump from power for any reason. Impeachment or served 2 terms. He and his acolytes will try to hsng on.

They also see Trump's economy and the closer 2020 gets, the more they realize their hopes for a recession diminish greatly. Along with a downturn in job and upturn in unemployment.
Oh, they've given up on the border, too.

You don't surrender to group think, you just reach the same conclusions as the administration entirely on your own. You even use the same phraseology. It's astounding hiw all of the free thinking conservatives come to the exact same conclusion and the same words independently!

Perfect analogy, thread winner !!

If I cared about your feelings, I would consider your tip.
