There seems to be a lot of confusion about the word "socialism." I've seen people use it to mean any kind of sociable living. As opposed to anti-social living.
That isn't what it means. We are social animals and almost all humans in any time or place live and lived socially.
So if the word "socialism" meant social living, it would mean nothing, since there is no alternative.
So please stop defining "socialism" to mean having laws and a government.
Social animals, in general, have governments, if you define "government" as having some kind of leader.
There is also some degree of sharing and cooperation in social animal groups. So you can't define "socialism" as any system where there is some cooperation and sharing.
What socialism really is -- an economic system where there is no private property. You can't own your house, you can't have money, and you can't own a business. Everything is commonly owned by the "people." And who are the "people?" Why, they are the government.
You might think socialism sounds good. But in practice it means that the rulers are all-powerful and the "people" become powerless slaves. That is what happened in every single socialist society. Because that is what has to happen when the "people" are not allowed to own anything.
