Oh, no we don't, that's the dumbest idea of all time, that the GOP members in that hearing today appeared convinced was enough for their base. That's a sad reflection on what the GOP think of their voters. Seriously. They're treating GOP supporters like not too bright middle schoolers.

For the rest of us, the President using his personal attorney to smear a U.S. Ambassador with lies, in an underhanded, dishonest effort to get her removed and her reputation ruined, is abuse of power, all by itself!

This isn't a key witness at all. This witness has only peripheral relevance and is only slightly negative about Trump. Given that, and given Trump's response, do any of you Trump supporters wish he would just shut the hell up? I mean, the serious stuff is still to come and Trump has already gone all-in attack. If anyone in the Republican party has Trump's interests at heart they'll find a way to shut him up, and soon.
Or maybe the Republican party is already seeing a way to President Pence leading them into the election.

That she was featured this highly indicates they are desperate.

If what you are watching is beyond your comprehension, just say so, or say nothing.
'The witnesses so far have only told about how the Trump Whitehouse almost buried a county and all of their citizens through incompetency.

A country fighting corruption, voted for a man that was going to fight corruption. The very thing the U.S. has been championing since the Russians annexed Crimea. So what does this administration do at the first chance? They try to corrupt the new president by making him a party to the president's domestic agenda.

If by doing this, we subject the Ukrainian people to Russian control for them and their children for generations to come, so be it. What really counts is the next U.S. election.

Instead of being ashamed of your President, and by extension your country, you try to act like the problem is the officials that have been trying to succeed with America's foreign policy goals.

She answered no because the determination of what is or is not criminal activity is not for her to decide.

She answered in the negative because she is non partisan, and for a non partisan where determining crimes is not in her job description, that is the only answer she can give.


Jeezus frickin' christ republicans who make this argument are plain stupid.


If what's-his-face were not disingenuous, he would have framed the question this way, which might have gotten a different answer:

"Do you have any information regarding the president which congress might determine to be criminal activity and/or impeachable offenses?"

Rudy and the Gang had to get Yovanovitch out of the way in order to slither around Ukraine doing their dirty work for DonDon and collect a few deals for themselves. They had to get her out and depend on the time element before an Acting Ambassador could be named. They wanted to get a head start on anybody coming in. So they smeared her, had been smearing her since 2018, had her recalled the very day Zalinsky was being sworn in as the new Ukraine President and slithered around unfettered for the month it took for Taylor to come in and get up to speed.

That is why Yovanovitch's testimony was important today. Trump of course wants everybody to concentrate on the July 25th TelCon regardless of how incriminating it is. But this case is being built block by block. Sorry DonDon.

I do expect the same News Channel BS especially this weekend when the 2nd string is in. The usual checking the pulse of GOP Senators every 10 seconds will be the order of the day. "Has the needle moved yet? How about now? How about now.....etc etc etc. Stupid Americans will fall for the dog pile on the carpet BS every time.

Compare that with how he treated his female republican colleague.

Thats the typical double standard of how women are treated depending on their politics. Its not right but its not unusaul either.

What im curious about is who was in the audience of the hearings. Did they pack it full of lefties from the public or was it mostly media people covering the hearings?

The public applauding for her is one thing but if it was the press thats another matter. Im glad they are putting their bias on open display, it dispells any myth of them objectively covering any of this for anyone paying attention.

The importance of Yovanovich’s testimony dealt with other matters:

1. The shadow foreign policy being conducted by Giuliani was directly at odds with official US foreign policy, which was to help Ukraine fight corruption, bring them into the fold of the West and stand up to Russian aggression. At the forefront of this was Yavanovich, who was extremely good at fighting corruption. She has, in fact, received numerous awards in her 33 year career. This put her at direct odds with the eminently corrupt Yuri Lutsenko. Lutsenko fed conspiracy theories that he himself later disavowed to Giuliani, who fed them to Trump. Among the conspiracy theories were smears, such as that Yavanovich was disloyal to Trump and that she had created a “do not prosecute” list, both of which were objectively untrue. Trump gobbled the CT and the false allegations up, and she was out. With her out of the way, the shadow foreign policy could proceed unhindered.

2. The fact that she was extremely good at fighting corruption...and the fact that this was her primary purpose...deep sixes Trump supporters’ narrative that he just wanted to ferret out corruption.
