Marie Yovanovitch met with resounding applause

This isn't a Trump Rally thread.

The lying sack would be met with disdain and boos by a normal audience.

Yes, we saw that at the Nationals game. Trump was in tears.

If you want to know how the impeachment is resonating with the American People, look no further than what happened after Yovanovitch's 7 hours of testimony.

The cheers seem to suggest the people believe her, not the lying president.

She deserves much more than cheers after all the bull$hit the Scumbag in Chief put her through, then the immature pu$$y sat there on the bowl insulting her and lying about her while she was testifying. I have nothing but complete respect for that woman, she's loyal to our country and has strong character. Funny how Trump praises criminals and dictators, and slanders and insults true American patriots.

I don't know what disgusts me more, the sniveling liar in the white house or the mindless cult members who still insist on licking his boots. The good thing is that some of the respectable republicans who may have voted for him are now following their conscience and distancing themselves from him. Those are the ones who respect the rule of law, the constitution and this country and its people.

Maybe the Democrats are planning some surprise at the end of all of this? Today's full day of testimony was so chock full of damning evidence that it's already fallen off the newswire. These impeachment hearings are turning into a joke.

Such a joke, Trump committed another impeachable offense and Stone was found guilty by a jury of his peers in record time, on all counts.

So much winning, eh?

So Trump til 2025?

Concur.

Yes, and if he isn't careful, the Dems will tack on another for catching him eating at Chick-fil-a.

Wish I could have watched! But have been in central america the last 10 days, CR and Panama.
Her performance was extraordinary. No other way to put it.

Oh definitely.

Comparing herself to the Benghazi dead?

Extraordinary.

Yes, we saw that at the Nationals game. Trump was in tears.

Look at who's paying the minimum $1000 a ticket in DC. The leftwing pols.

I'm talking about a normal audience of normal people. Not privileged government hacks.

Tepid applause accompanied her departure (and Schiff's bizarre closing), but if only she had cried as hoped!

The place would have gone nuts!

As a woman I have a bit of a problem in the way Yovanovitch allowed herself to be patronized. I am an old gal. We fought for equality and in that equality we expect to be treated equal. And with that equality, emotions are void.

In her opening statement she talked about her time at the State Department where conditions often were dangerous. It comes with the territory of any State Department figure in hostile territory. They often have to deal with horrific unrest and dictators that result in real threats. I have family members who worked for the State Dept. years ago that have been in such situations. The entire family was overseas. Something went terribly wrong and his wife had but a matter of minutes to pack a bag and she and the children were airlifted out of the region while her husband was using a vehicle to get to another location where he would be airlifted out of the region while those who wanted to do him in were hot on his trail. They all got out safely and reunited in another country.

But today she allowed herself to claim she felt threatened by Trump's phone call to the president of Ukraine and she felt threatened by the charade of Shifty reading just part of Trump's tweet in real time. Really?
She didn't respond like a woman who wanted to be treated equal but instead was basking in the emotions of those who sympathized with her removal of her post. It was really disappointing to watch. A couple of times when she was speaking I rolled my eyes and said outloud, "suck it up buttercup".

So far, each "witness" presented in Schiff's open impeachment inquiry hearings has said that they could site no direct evidence of Trump's criminal activity. They did, however, all state that they generally disagreed with Trump's policy toward Ukraine with the notable exception of Trump having given Ukraine better military aid than Obama did.
It's hard to accept that point when there are a number of direct witnesses to the call and decision making, as well as documents that are being blocked by the administration. The people also need to just learn about Ukraine and its relationship with America a bit too from the career diplomats. Otherwise it means nothing. It's probably not the time or place to do it but I see a decent reason to bring these witnesses first.

Big eye roll as the GOP participants kept bringing up the hearsay tho. Bring out the others then! You know what to do! Shoot maybe even we'll get a whistleblower. It doesnt really matter though who it is. This scandal is walking on it's own even without those direct witnesses yet.

It is substantive that the us ambassador was dismissed in that way. Admittedly i haven't done any fact checking yet on the smears against her and need to. It changes everything if those are true. We the american people deserve to know why a president does the things he does, unless it is classified I suppose. If it was based on the smears and they were false, then he was listening to and employing the wrong people. It would be completely wrong that his personal lawyer would be spreading it if it was false.

Still need to watch the last 1.5 hours. I hear there are applause.

Rep. Chris Stewart's full questioning of Yovanovich.

He nailed it.

The cheers seem to suggest the people believe her, not the lying president.

The cheers only seem to suggest that the room was packed with her supporters.

I guess Trump could not find enough people to show up on his behalf. Maybe he should start paying them.
