Deere workers grapple with fallout from Trump's trade war - Reuters

I guess we'll soon see Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois turn Blue.

Deere is not alone. Rival Caterpillar, the world’s largest heavy equipment maker, has decided to let go of 120 workers in Texas, for example, while United States Steel Corp has had layoffs in Michigan.

U.S. Federal Reserve reports show American factories are running way below their long-run average production levels and companies are delaying capital spending due to uncertainty over trade policy. U.S. manufacturing activity fell to a more than decade-low in September.

lol...see the "fake news" claim below.

Trump, however, said on Tuesday that industries had not been hurt by his administration’s trade actions.

I've seen enough of a mfg slowdown since mid-2017 to know this isn't fake news. Not even close. US manufacturing has been hammered by Trump's trade policies.

because letting china run roughshod over us is so much better.

Can you read a graph?

Hint: It doesn't support what you wrote.

What it does support is hat Trump's trade stupidity singlehandedly crushed a booming manufacturing sector.

This is not a shock, with an average of two farms a day going out of business here in Wisconsin due to trumps ignorance, who the hell is going to by a tractor???

Deans, the nations largest dairy company just declared bankruptcy for Christ sake!!!

By whose standards is this somehow winning???

By Trump supporters' 'standards', where anything he does meets with unanimous, unquestioning approval, because he said it was a good thing and that's all they need to know. The rest of us aren't blind. "You're going back to work!" he bellowed at miners while mines were closing all around them; "unheard of" new mines were being sunk. All lies, eagerly lapped up by his lowbrow support base.

Trump's idea of winning must be like beating up someone's fist with his face.

Tide turns slowly, but she does turn. One of my salesmen, a die hard Trumper up until about 6 months ago has jumped off the ship. Why? His commission checks are way down, and he knows why.

China's. By specifically targeting agriculture, they will move in to buy all this land and rock bottom prices.

Plus few cows are better for the environment.

I feel for him. Maybe when Trump's "genius" starts negatively affecting his avid supporters they might also change their tune-although somehow I doubt it. They'll be quite happy to go down with the ship, ranting about communists and 'deep state' apparatchiks.

Whats the reason the democrats are refusing to ratify the usmc deal and holding thoe americans waiting on it hostage?

That actually has been happening since the Busch era.

Here in Wisconsin one of the first thing Scott Walker did was allow China to buy more connecting land than ever before.

Republicans are not the friends of farmers or the environment I was led to believe in tbe days of my youth...

I suppose that depends on the type of farmers as to how friendly they are. I don't think either party is a friend of the environment, but that is another discussion for another day.

maybe Trump needs to send those guys welfare like he did the American farmers that he hurt.

And the king of making excuse has entered the room. Otherwise known as #trumpsplainin.

It Pisses Off The Libs[sup]TM[/sup], though. That's what's really important.

Republican are the 'friends' of people with money. Lots of money. Anyone believing they are anything other than cynical vote-grabbers is delusional.

Sounds like a good idea for a separate thread. Go start one.

Yea Trumps fault.
Companies never have down turns. Companies never lay-off people. Companies never go out of business. There is never any disagreement between companies and unions. There is always a high demand for a companies products. There is always an endless stream of customers. There is never competition that effect your business. It’s always a perfect world.
