WASHINGTON (AP) — A second U.S. Embassy staffer in Kyiv overheard a cellphone call between President Donald Trump and his ambassador to the European Union discussing a need for Ukrainian officials to pursue “investigations,” The Associated Press has learned. The July 26 call between Trump and Gordon Sondland was first described during testimony Wednesday by William Taylor, the acting U.S. ambassador to Ukraine. Taylor said one of his staffers overhead the call while Sondland was in a Kyiv restaurant the day after Trump’s July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy that triggered the House impeachment inquiry. The second diplomatic staffer also at the table was Suriya Jayanti, a foreign service officer based in Kyiv. A person briefed on what Jayanti overheard spoke to AP on condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive matter currently under investigation. The staffer Taylor testified about is David Holmes, the political counselor at the embassy in Kyiv. The accounts of the two embassy staffers could tie Trump closer to alleged efforts to hold up military aid to Ukraine in exchange for investigations into political rival Joe Biden and his son Hunter’s business dealings.

Sondland's public testimony on Nov. 20 should be very interesting. He never mentioned the Kyiv restaurant call in his closed testimony. Perhaps perjury.

We might begin to see Trump offering pardons to certain individuals to keep them quiet.

Sondland seems to be out of his league. Large ego and little restraint. Reporting says the ambassador initiated the call; I’m of the opinion that Sondlund wanted people in the area to know he was on the phone with POTUS.

Sondlund wasted no time spending taxpayer funds on extensive renovations to the ambassador’s residence outside of Brussels...

This reporting is totally significant. If we can get 5 or 6 more witnesses that heard Trump talking about investigations in the Ukraine we will finally be able to verify that the information in the phone call transcript which shows that Trump asked Zelensky about 2016 and Biden investigations actually happened. Granted, the transcript already said that and Trump has been totally forthcoming that he asked about it but if we only had 10-12 more witnesses that say he talked about it then we can be really, really sure that he talked about it...even though we will be no closer whatsoever to proving the Democrat's allegations regarding WHY he talked about it.

Wasn't the call after Sondland had already talked to the Ukrainians? Other than that, this is yet another "so f**king what?" topic. Has anyone EVER said that Trump wasn't interested in investigating Ukraine corruption and its possible roll in the 2016 election? Not mention Hunter's cushy job with Burisma?

Sondland needs to be evaluated for dementia = he seems to forget a lot then suddenly have a blinding flash of "oh, yeah, just one more thing . . ."

Talking about investigations doesn't add anything to the equation. Zelensky mentioned them in the July 25th call.

It must add something!!! Why else would the Democrats need two dozen people to "prove" that Trump asked for the investigations even though the transcript that Trump released shows that he asked about the investigations?

LOL! You're either completely and totally lost on the details of all this or are being completely disengenuous about them.

A. No trascript has been released.
B. For the memo about it that was released, therer is credible testimony under oath that the contents were changed and significant parts removed.
C. The memo released shows twump committed serious crimes.
D. Epstein was murdered.
E. twump CONFESSED to committing such crimes, twice, publicly, on the air.
F. Mulvaney confirmed that twump committed criminal extortion, in public, on the air.
G. The texts in evidence from the ambassadors confirm that twump was doing this strictly for personal political gain on the gov't's dime illegally using the power of the office to do so.

It's embarrassing when someone tries to discuss this (or, rather, hold forth on it) and they have NO idea, whatsoever, what they're talking about.

There has been a leaked cache of documents from the Ukrainian General Prosecutor’s office that indicate complex money transfers from foreign sources into a controlled ‘slush fund’ owned and operated by Devon Archer, John Kerry Senior, John Kerry Junior, Heinz Jr, and Hunter Biden. We are talking huge amounts of money. Haven't had a chance to read through it yet but someone did post them on Twitter.

But, but, Trump said he "hardly knows Sondland."

Who called who? Did Sondland call the president...or did the president call him? If Sondland was in a restaurant then it sounds like Trump called him. Which means Trump had Sondland's personal "unsecured" cellphone number. And if he had his personal cellphone number then they must've known each other a lot more than Trump is admitting.

Too bad David Holmes testimony won't be public. Does anyone know if Suriya Jayanti, the foreign service officer that also overheard the call is going to testify?
