Deval Patrick joins the presidential race.

Link: Deval Patrick to enter 2020 Democratic presidential race - Axios

Another ex-Governor is expected to announce his presidential candidacy soon, and it's unknown as to how well he'll do.

He's a late entrant compared to many of the other candidates, and doesn't have much name recognition -- outside of his state, I guess -- from what I understand.

I don't think he'll manage to land on any of the future debate stages, and with the first in the nation Iowa, Nevada, South Carolina, and New Hampshire caucuses and primaries in 3 months -- I don't think he'll perform well in them, or get the minimum amount of votes needed congressional district-wide or state-wide to obtain delegates.

He was the former Governor of Massachusetts. He's entering the democratic primary allegedly.

Have any opinions of his candidacy? Heard anything about him prior to his candidacy? Think he has a chance to win the nomination?

Has no chance? Would you vote for him in a primary election? General election? Do you think he could beat the president in a general election?

Dear lord they're trying to lose at this point...

There is no 'they' behind this guy's decision, unless you mean some sycophants, some former staff, David Axelrod, Valerie Jarrett and his wife and mother.

To the OP, he's got quite a diverse and varied professional background, combining the legal practice, politics and corporate board positions. He has has a history of suspect decision-making. Not real great about understanding the optics behind his calls. I want to know more about his firing of Saundra Edwards! He might have been more interesting prospect, if he had started earlier, been in the debates, and filed for those primaries. He's got a lot of uphill climbing of a steep mountain this late, without Bloomberg's money to help him carry the backpack.

I don't think he's really expecting to win, he wants to increase his visibility.

No interest in this guy at all, I posted to his twitter yesterday, "Endorse Bernie when you exit."

The only thing I can take from Duval musings is that the he thinks Booker and Harris are falling out of the pack and will be much encumbered by the coming Senate Removal Trial.

Duval might be right, but I don't think it matters. He is probably "musing" hoping that somebody picks up on his musing immediately. He will need quite a few folks to respond immediately to justify a real effort. If that does not happen, I don't think we will hear from Duval further on this subject.

Sneeky Dems know if they skip the debate, no one knows how Socialist they are.

Three from Massachusetts now. Bloomberg might slime in as well.

Massachusetts has put in a presidential runner up (2nd in primary or General) almost every election, back to Tsongas and Dukakis.

The only possible point of this is to gain some name recognition. Perhaps to increase his chances at a Cabinet post, perhaps for a future election.

I voted for Patrick for Mass governor in late 06. He'll do better than Bloomberg in the primaries but he's not quite to the level of the big 3.

I dpnt know anything about the guy so i dont really have any opinion about him as a candidate but its not too late for him to enter. He has plenty of time to campaign.

Bernie will have fun with small Deval's post gubernatorial career at Bain Capital.

Neither Bloomberg or Deval are Socialist, iirc the former initiated stop and frisk measures in NY that dis-proportionally targeted Black and Latinos and the latter is CEO of Bain Capitol (or CFO or something)

Communist China has stop and frisk measures that do not dis-proportionally target Black and Latinos. Ok - Communist it is.

Even "communist" China is more State Capitalist than they are communist/communal. Full-blown communism has never truly existed, but then again, neither has capitalism...
Labels are meaningless except as a divide and conquer/crowd control mechanism utilized by managers/institutions to better control the populace/workforce...

Deval had his first scheduled campaign event at Morehouse college. 2 people showed up. They canceled the event.

Read about that. Pretty sad...and hilarious!

Freshly-launched campaign crash and burns almost immediately!
