televised impeachment false narrative by democrats

So far, what I have seen is the democrats pushing the narrative that President Trump used his office to meddle in the 2020 election to investigate Joe Biden and Hunter. The investigation into them both has nothing to do with 2020, but the possible corruption that occurred in 2014. It is not unlawful or against the national interests of the USA to investigate allegations of corruption in a foreign country, especially when the USA and Ukraine have a mutual agreement to do so.

Seemingly anyone with a brain that still functions can see that Trump needs no help whatsoever to beat Joe Biden in a general election, yet this is what the democrats are pushing. I think what needs to be found out, is how many board meetings did Hunter participate, and how much time was involved to earn the many thousands of dollars he was paid.....in so doing, we will readily see if there was true corruption involved.

Multiple individuals, some of them Trump appointees, corroborate that statement.

Meadows is lying right now.

Right now.

This is a disgrace.
 
Trump could care less about investigations. He asked specifically for PUBLIC televised Ukranian statements claiming investigations are ongoing. Someone who actually wants investigations would want them private, not public, so as not to alert potential suspects and witnesses. The only reason he has been asking for public statements is to smear Biden, who has been his most likely opponent for 2020.

It is, or should be, illegal to use a shadow gov't and the prez use a personal lawyer to go to a foreign gov't to dig up dirt or they won't get their military funds the congress has granted.

Extortion is never a good thing.

The investigation into the Bidens was before the 2016 election.....just because Joe is running for the democratic nominee let him off the hook?

Turn on the lights and the democrats run into a frenzy. The corruption by democrats in Ukraine is alarming and they have to stop Trump at all costs...hence the impeachment.....it's all a big joke.

It is no coincidence Trump wanted Ukraine to start an investigation when Biden was in the lead amongst Democrats. Only a hyper-partisan fool would believe Trump is being unbiased and only cared about corruption in Ukraine. Corruption doesn't seem to be an issue for him when working with Saudi Arabia and selling our weapons to them.

It is not unlawful or against the national interests of the USA to investigate allegations of corruption in a foreign country, especially when the USA and Ukraine have a mutual agreement to do so.

It really doesn't matter if Hunter attended hundreds of board meetings and was paid millions by the company. Nepotism may be ugly, but it is legal (as we've seen with the Trump Family).

Don't know. But doing possible illegal activities is not the correct way.

And a private citizen, on the prez's behalf, is not the correct way.
And if this was to be an investigation, why make the Ukraine go public about it?

IMO, it wasn't an investigation for corruption, but to publicly go after a potential political rival. That is quite obvious.

Looks like Nunes is simply hedging on partisanship. He's playing to the base by trying to tie this to the 2016 election.

Not saying they weren't but so far nothing has been even brought out in the open as legit. At this point, and tRUMP was told this by some of his own, it's just Conspiracy Theories or wishful thinking.

What you have heard is the testimony from a first-hand witness who is also a Republican. Trump thought that Joe Biden was enough of a threat to him that he conjured up a conspiracy against the Bidens and tried extorting Zelensky to help him push that conspiracy theory forward in order to change the election.

Pure speculation.....facts are that Joe Biden did a "quid pro quo", proved by his own big mouth on video....top that off with his own son gaining a highly prosperous job on the board of Burisma. In a country Biden is supposedly overseeing corruption....this guy is just not too bright.

Haven't you ever wondered why Trump didn't open investigations using our own intelligence agencies into the Biden's in 2017 or 2018 and waited until well into the 2019 Democratic candidate cycle to want to investigate the Biden's but not using any of our own 17 Intelligence agencies but instead demanding that a foreign government under duress should do that for him? The U.S. has a team of 850,000 agents with top secret security clearances that are fully capable of doing such an investigation.

You should know better, any man that believes he has done something illegal or wrong in any way doesn't go bragging about it three years after the fact. There was nothing at all wrong with what Joe Biden did and it was done with the sanctioning and even the insistence of the EU and IMF.

Republican cross is pointing out over and over that the only "corruption" trump was interested in with regards to Ukraine, was payback for them not siding with him in the 2016, and with Hunter Biden. Is he doing their work for them?

He also keeps pointing out that these are apparently big foreign policy concerns of Trump...and that Trump didn't try to work this through his foreign policy experts, he instead used Rudy (who worked with four criminals) because it was....so important?

What a mess of a defense so far. Maybe it will get better in the coming weeks, or in the Senate Trial.
