I am listening to Taylor. This is a devastating indictment of the Trump foreign policy as it related to Ukraine. Another example of the Sorcerer's Apprentice living in the Whitehouse wielding devastating power, which he doesn't understand.

I am going to reserve judgement until the Reps get to cross-examine, but my god his opening statement is concise and damning. And he is not struggling to answer questions.

I heard Trump showed up at the hearings with a t-shirt that said: " I gave the Ukraine 400 million dollars all I got was this lousy t-shirt"

LAFFRIOT

I wonder if they will ask questions seeking understanding/truth or if they will spend the day on 'points of order'

Glad you find humor in a corrupt president.

The best thing the Democrats have done is put this mostly in the hands of committee counsel.

Goldman is showing them how an expert questions a witness. He is asking them questions that box them into clear answers that support the case against Trump and the WH.

Based on Nunes' opening I am guessing we are going to get a lot of Crowdstrike and Obama was bad stuff.
I hope to be wrong.

Minority counsel is going to focus mostly on the fact that Taylor didn't hear these things directly.

The only problem with that is that he's proven a reliable witness, and Vindman, Morrison, and Sondland were direct witnesses.

It's quite detailed, and if I wasn't already familiar with all the players and facts, I might be lost.
I do like how they have detailed why all this matters, what was going on in Ukraine, what the U.S. interests are there, etc. And how all throughout it, Rudy and Trump were opposing their own U.S. efforts in Ukraine.

What's clear up front is that if this was all on the up-and-up, Trump would have used the State Department.
Instead, he used Rudy, a handful of criminals, and some loyalists, to oppose his own State Department in extorting/bribing Ukraine, in trying to get Ukraine to publicly say they were going to investigate Burisma.

Everything sounds quite professional, except Nunes, who attacked democrats by name, attacked the public servants there to provide testimony, and lied his ass off. Shameful.

The repubs looked desperate to cling to "decorum" and "rules" and "points of order" to try and stall. Nunes' opening statement was nothing but psychopathic ramblings of someone who is clinging to every single diaper wipe conservative conspiracy since Qanon.

Pathetic.

Nunes is a laughing stock and a goddamned embarassment.

Total disgrace.

Yeah, very likely.

It isn't going to be fun to watch them try to take down someone who is coming across as very level headed and patriotic. I wish them luck with their endeavors.

Yea Nunes is a giant douche. Still can't figure out what the presidents personal lawyer has to do with foreign policy or other public matters. Should be interesting.

The Republican questions will be their usual diversionary tactics. Expect attempts to name the whistle blower, random conspiracy theories straight out of Breitbart, and a lot of Gym Jordan with a red face.

Yes. We didn't need representatives opining about random garbage for several minutes before asking a random question. This is about the witnesses and what they know.

I don't plan on watching any of it, it's just a boring leftist ****show. So I'm heading out for some :golf a little later.

It's pretty clear why sondland changed his testimony...

Reality can be hard for our dear friends on the right.

Yeah I don't blame you, if I was a cultist I wouldn't want to watch this either

This is a slam dunk...

Every second wasted on all this jabbering is a second Trump has to launch a nuke at a progressive US city. Impeach him and put him on trial now!

That's all they have.

What they seriously don't understand is that only appeals to their base, and makes them look on the side of a guilty person to the broader public.

They had better get serious. The opening statements made them look totally desperate.
