His policy is "American policy" for so long as he is POTUS
You forgot the word "dumb" before the phrase "American policy".

This gets to the heart of the Trump/Ukraine scandal
And, for your right wingnuts/partisan hacks, "liberal democracy" refers to democracy in general, as in the opposite of authoritarian totalitarianism, as in classic liberalism ( if you don't know what that is, google it).
It does not mean liberal in the sense of leftist politics, nor has the term 'liberal democracy" ever meant that. It simply means a free and open society, unlike the authoritarian totalitarian unfree societies of USSR, etc. So, don't bother going there, it's false.
Every move by Trump in the Ukraine saga has aided Russia.
I think Trump is looking for a safe landing place in 2020 that doesn't do extraditions.

In reading your post, I feel the frustration and pain in your voice trying to explain such basic concepts to Trump supporters. But don’t bother. It’s not that they don’t understand it. You’re not going to change anyone’s mind by explaining these basic concepts. They know. They are big boys and girls. They understand all this. They just look for anything, including semantics, to defend their cult prophet. You’re not going to change anyone’s mind by explaining basic concepts and trying to appeal to facts and reason. They understand all this. They just look for anything, including semantics, to defend their cult prophet. This is a matter of faith and devotion, of culture and identity, not reason and rationality.
Whenever any election, anywhere, doesn’t go how liberals want it to, liberals immediately respond by claiming that the country isn’t a real democracy. It’s tiresome, and people aren’t falling for it anymore.

It is shocking how eager some of these Trump people want so badly to be ruled by an autocratic tyrant.
Their raw naked desire for an authoritarian with an iron fist is disturbing.
It is easy to understand their desire when you realize they don’t consider liberals/democrats to be politically legitimate.
Empty blather. A WaPo "opinion" and your nodding your head like a dashboard bobblehead on a washboard road. This gets to the heart of the Trump/Ukraine scandal

As President, Trump can "retreat" pretty much at will from foreign countries if he so desires. He has no duty to maintain the policies of past administrations. Likewise, the next President will have no duty to maintain the policies of the current administration.
Retreating from a liberal democracy and moving towards authoritarian State favoring Putin is not something you should support as well, nor should anyone for that matter

Trump and Putin are both elected leaders. The fact that you don't like how the people voted does not change the validity of their choices.
Iirc, Kim Jong Un is also elected.Trump and Putin are both elected leaders. The fact that you don't like how the people voted does not change the validity of their choices.
