I got some good insights to the Vindmann's leftist mindcrap in accusing Donald Trump of wrecking "interagency consensus dictating Ukrainian/US Democrat relations." It was not Vindmann's job to defend democrat involvement with Ukrainians, it was Vindmann's job to promote and support Trump's foreign policy. By rebelling against Trump and violating his job requirements Vindmann has proven himself a bad actor and worthy of dismissal

The polling has not been favorable on a variety of polls; not that they are conclusive metrics to go by, but they do provide some limited insight. Polling companies which would typically produce higher favorability results for Trump are now showing more disapproval results. The one thing I do agree with is the real poll result will be in November of next year. As I've stated in other posts, I think the big difference this go around is those independent voters who did not vote for Hillary will be up for grabs again and they are now aware of Trump's persona in office as well. The "wild card" aspect of what Trump will be like is now known, and I think it's more of a hindrance among those who are not ardent supporters. There's a lot of time between then and now, so we'll see how things transpire in the interim.

Polls showed Hillary up by 10 points going into the 2016 election. I think even Hillary came away from the 2016 loss thinking in her mind, "Damn those lying polls."

The polls had nothing to do with her loss, and she should have campaigned harder in many of the areas she lost. Either way, I felt she was the wrong candidate for that particular election because the theme was "change" and she represented the old guard. That race really should have been between Trump and Sanders. The important thing to note though, is from a "poll" perspective, Trump losing the popular vote was a pretty interesting metric in terms of how popular his message really was.

I understand it's a problem. But not in Flynn's case. Flynn's case is open and shut. The FBI asked him a question, we know for a fact he lied because the government has the phone call in question. He also admitted guilt and is still currently admitting guilt. The idea that it's all fake is a fairy tale.

Pompeo did the minimum legal obligation of 5 years continuous active duty service after graduating West Point then out, from 1986-91. So Pompeo was a captain for some time between 12 months and 18 months max when 5 years is the prerequisite eligibility for major.

Being promoted from the company grade officer rank of captain to the field grade officer rank of major is a big deal which is why officers who retire at captain don't talk about it much if at all, West Point ones especially. During his SecState nomination trials Pompeo said he hadn't noticed his Wiki bio falsely had him serving in Desert Shield/Desert Storm while he was in Germany in an armored cav unit. A former CIA agent exposed the discrepancy. Pompeo was all gosh golly gee about it.

First of all, wrapping yourself in the flag, and declaring yourself an American and other people shills isn’t going to insulate you from the facts that you’re taking your lead from crackpots (long standing paid to bray ones at that), and that you don’t have a fact based argument to make.

I gather from Trumpster posters here, and from some of what I’ve heard on the radio, that the Trumpster defense now seems to be that everyone who didn’t either look the other way, or endorse Trump’s half assed extortion plot are traitors.

The only loyalty and fidelity of the military is to the Constitution. Mine too in these matters.

Washington as president of the Constitutional Convention proposed successfully the military take an oath to the Constitution and to the Constitution only. Washington made clear he saw the military as the last bulwark against a tyrant leader.

In respect of Washington, Article VI requires a military oath to the Constitution. Accordingly, the first law enacted by the first session of the first Congress was the military oath to the Constitution. That is, Public Law 1-1 (the first law enacted by the first Congress).

Military officers know the oath and its history most clearly while only some enlisted are aware. Yet enlisted whether they are Senior NCO or lower enlisted obey the commands of their company commander standing in front of 'em and of their regiment commander standing in front of all the ranks of troops the colonel commands. Colonels in turn obey generals.

Military officers will tell you their oath is to "We the People" and not to "I the Tyrant." Even enlisted who can be confused recognize that no one person is above the law. Any general or admiral will say this with both conviction and resolve.

I did not know that was the promotion practice currently. My dad got promoted to Major just before discarge. And I’m almost certain that was in order to bump his pension.

As an elected official, he ran toward mid Western isolationism, not an ideal trait in a Secretary of State.
