If Bernie Sanders And Elizabeth Warren Are Really Serious About Socialism

then why doesn't one of them bow out and let the other one carry the torch? Biden is on top of the polls with about 30% while both Sanders and Warren have approximately 20% each. If one of them dropped out the other one would have about 40% to Biden's 30% and they would be on their way to winning the nomination. Do they believe in their cause more than anything else or not? Why fight each other, allowing Biden to be the front runner? One of them could even make a deal with the other that if the other person dropped out, that person would make the other VP, having a solid socialistic ticket to go up against Trump.

Second kind of related question, if either Sanders or Warren does win the nomination, do they pick a moderate Democrat (let's say Buttigieg) for their VP to have a big united party of both moderates and socialists and a young VP to counter their own age or do they pick a socialist for VP in an all or nothing Socialist ticket?

They continue to campaign because they think they're the best candidates to be President and they believe they have a chance to win the Primary.

I'm here all week. Let me know if you need any more answers to life's burning questions.

    IMO?

First, each probably thinks they would be better than the other as President (i.e. self-confidence).

Second, Sanders is a "true believer" and has been touting his ideas for years. Meanwhile, Warren is a political opportunist willing to change the color of her politics in any way necessary to win office. She is not a "true believer," and Sanders knows this.

Third, they are both very old, and unlikely to survive long enough to run after the other is given their "turn."

Thus neither is likely to cede the field to the other.

Each will do whatever they think would help get them votes.

If I stop responding it doesn't mean I've conceded the point or agree with you. It only means I've made my point and I don't mind you having the last word. Please wait a few minutes before "quoting" me. I often correct errors for a minute or two after I post before the final product is ready.

Warren picks a moderate. Bernie picks a socialist.
