Four top White House officials who were supposed to testify for the House’s impeachment inquiry Monday declined to appear. John Eisenberg, the top lawyer at the National Security Council, failed to show up on Capitol Hill for his scheduled deposition time. He is believed to have made the call to lock down records of President Trump’s call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in a special system.

Congress can vote to hold a person "in contempt" if that person refuses to testify, won't provide information requested by the House or the Senate, or obstructs an inquiry by a congressional committee.

The criminal offense of "contempt of Congress" sets the penalty at not less than one month nor more than twelve months in jail and a fine of not more than $100,000 or less than $100.

Part of civil disobedience is paying the price for that disobedience What do you think the odds are these high officials will wind up in jail?

I think the chances of many men going to prison is extremely high.

We shouldn't make martyrs out of Trump's minions. Putting them away in Schiff and Pelosi's basement secure room is just going to fire up the Republican base. And don't forget to read them their rights first.

Rudy, Pompeo, and Barr for three. Might even have jr. going.

No amount of delay is going to stop the ax from falling.

I want the house to be very aggressive here.
I want these people charged and arrested. I want these subpoenas enforced,
no excuses. I am sick of these congressional leaders wussing out in the face of the executive branch.

Considering what he is accused of, and then not showing up, it all suggests he thinks he is above the law and has no respect for it. If he is moving things to a private server, to cover up for the president, because he knows what the president did is wrong, then that is a serious offensive. I definitely think he should be held in contempt. So many others around Trump have went to jail, so what would another one really mean.

He should go to jail.

Pelosi doesn't have the damn guts though.

It could be an add on for other crimes, such as obstruction of justice. On it's own, I think Nadler would only do fines.
