One More Trump Success?

1) Trump did not use increased federal government regulation to drive coal mining out of business - as Obama/Clinton intended to do.

2) Trump was not "an idiot" for letting market forces and/or improved technology reduce the demand for coal.

I don't know what Obama/Clinton did or did not do but Trump undermined his own promise to the coal miners by strongly supporting natural gas, which has always been the reason for the decline in coal interest.

Hmm... let me get this straight - are you asserting that Trump was wrong (an idiot?) for preferring NG over coal? It's not as if those in coal country are going to suddenly support demorats push for the GND because Trump let them down.

No, I am asserting that Trump lied to his supporters.

Politicians often make stupid promises. Trying to blame Trump for "killing coal jobs" is silly - coal use is dropping for good reason - the conversion of electricity generation plants to natural gas (obtained from evil fracking?) and more use of "renewables". Rather than blame Trump, perhaps one could look at the bigger picture here.

I thought your right wing brethren voted for Trump because he supposedly WASN'T a politician?

One doesn't have to worry about pissing off a liberal then, they would NEVER pull a mugger/rapist off you anywhere. It is a well documented tradition.

No, the liberal would throw the rapist in prison and pay for the care of the victim out of their own pockets. The conservative would shrug their shoulders and say "that's their problem. Shouldn't have been dressed like that."

Yes, you are right. The Conservatives do not care about anyone but themselves. Me first, me second and me third. The rest is also me.

Blame Trump for making empty promises he knew he couldn't possibly keep, and cynically lying to garner miner's votes? I wonder how those miners felt, being promised more work as mines closed all around them. The only 'bigger picture' they, and most people, care about is the next paycheck. There's nobody else to blame but Trump, for giving false hope where there was none. "You're going back to work!" he bellowed. I doubt they'll forget when election time comes around.

And impeaching him, if nothing else, pisses off him.

I still feel iffy about it strategically. It's warranted, but I would have preferred if they had mostly focused on winning the presidency now and then prosecuting Orange Nixon after he's out of office. They're committed now, though, so it is what it is.

Nonsense. You clearly don't know any liberals.

More like was not an establishment politician. He was certainly running on more federal spending and lower federal taxation which was for having higher federal deficits.

It's not likely they will forget Trump's failed predictions/promises of a boom in coal demand, but it is also not likely that having coal regulated out of existence is the better alternative.

One thing I have learned in life "do the right thing and the result will always be positive". The only caveat to this is that doing the right thing has to be done right as well. If it is done the wrong way (even if it is the right thing), misunderstandings will occur. Misunderstanding is the norm but facts overcome that. You cannot reasonably argue facts.

I'm aware of your usual routine. I'll be tldring the rest of it.

Flee. As is your usual routine when unassailable facts become an obstacle..

Nah, I have just stopped wasting as much time on bull****. Thanks for your assessment, however. My file 13 was feeling a bit light.

Meh, he's about as establishment as one can get now. Definitely no "outsider" anymore, in fact he never was one.

He never got my vote and never will, but that is not any reason for me to vote for Biden, Sanders or Warren.
