[W:125] Red States

Poverty rates don't matter when you have a correspondingly low cost of living and increased purchasing power for the dollar.

There is a low cost of living because there is little development and poor infrastructure compared to many blue states.

Now I understand what your telling us here, that when they voted for one president , it then made them a blue state. It's like talking to a brick wall

So I guess this means Michigan and Ohio are now red states. ;)

It doesn't matter why there is a difference. There is a difference. The most notable one is housing costs.

It does matter. There is a reason people aren't scrambling to move to Pakistan, despite the very low cost of living. And there is a reason why Pakistanis move to the United States despite the much higher cost of living.

Pakistan isn't a red state. red states have everything you need for a standard of living as blue states. If "moving" is your metric, then please do explain why Texas is gaining population while rustbelt states are losing it.

Pakistan isn't a red state.

Oh. My. God. :lamo

If you don't understand the point in context to the conversation then you and I are done here. :doh

I understand what states are. Apparently you do not. Now run along if you wish.

You and I are talking about cost of living, in case you forgot. I am explaining that low cost of living isn't necessarily a good thing. It is a sign that there are major problems with that area and that people and businesses don't want to be there. That is why I bring up Pakistan. Super low cost of living and yet not a highly desirable place to go to (unless you want to start a sweat shop).

The thread is about states, not countries and people are fleeing Pakistan because it is notoriously corrupt and violent not because of the COL. It isn't even remotely comparable to red state vs. blue states.

Alright, either you are intentionally deflecting from the point or actually not understanding. Either way, we're done here.

Why do progressives consistently support an ever bigger welfare state, then complain when people in red states take advantage of the benefits?

If you don't like it, then stop pushing for free healthcare, free college, free food, free housing, free puppies, etc.

Red states by far the highest uneducated, poor, welfare recipients , that are Radical Christian , the land of the Homophobic, Bigoted, Chauvinist , and any other form of organized hatred. That are paid for and taken care of by the blue states..
The red states dilemma is that they have to keep their power centers uneducated, poor, Full of hate and just all around ugly, To get and keep their votes. With tax breaks that sound good until they run the numbers, to find out that all these tax cuts go to the golden few at the top and to find out that the average Joe gets a tax break of $1.07 a year. I'm tired of having to pay for this organized hatred.
Lol, so much to unpack there. Sad.

I don't think we've really changed that much, Chomsky.

Nasty extremists are just attracted to internet message boards, and everyone sees internet postings as having no consequences.

Most people are in favor of sensible, forward thinking policies, once they articulated away from triggering code words.
Thanks for the reply Vanceen, but I was speaking in collective terms - as a nation.

This is the worst I've seen the country since the '60's. Although back then, much of the fear was of a violent radical Left. Today's fear though, is of radical government. It seems the shoe is now on the other foot.

lol...even Texas lags

This is a useless graph.

Add cost of living in Texas, New York, and Massachusetts. Then you will have an idea of relative economic quality of life.

This is such a asinine response and that is all you get from these right wing idiots now a days. The state with the most people living in it ,has the highest amount of poor people , 100% obvious and 100% asanine.

You're the one spewing horse dung about blue states vs red states. There are 32 states with a lower poverty rate than CA. Meanwhile, the vast majority of our energy comes from red states. I notice you ignored that.

And yet, more socialist developed countries have less wealth disparity that the United States. Amongst advanced economies, Norway is #1, Denmark is #5, New Zealand is #13. Where is the United States? It is #23.

The socialism being pitched by the Dem candidates isn't akin to the Scandinavian countries, which are capitalist with more socialist safety nets. What they propose will have us looking like Venezuela or Cuba.

No you would be wrong on that point since the rights only real job that is required of them , being the transfer of wealth to the top, And the fact that the Guns, and Abortions , and the immigration and the fake Cristiano and the endless promise of tax cuts. Are simply a joke , cons for the stupid., they exist for one and only one reason and their followers are to dumb to realize it, That is why all hate party controlled states will always be dragging their asses as far as wages are concerned and the standard of living will be in the ****ter.

The shoe is exactly where it always is , In 2018 there was 50 hate crime murders in the US, all 50 where killed by right wingers , no blacks, no Mexicans , no Muslims , no democrats, all right wingers . That is of course one of the main reason that they are now the hate party and no longer the republican party.

Look it up. Real income, corrected for cost of living. I'm not wrong.

EDIT: I'm addressing only the first half of your first sentence since the rest is undecipherable.

Here you go. Average purchasing power in Texas is way ahead of New York or Massachussets.

One example doesn't define the whole country does it/ Point being I can erase any specific singular relationship with the opposite singular relationship. So what the hell does this have to do with the fact that the welfare states that the democrats have to support are red states/

There You go, I have a simple obvious suggestion since You can't read what I wrote anyway , is go someplace else and not waste bandwidth here.
