New rules for impeachment procedures

What's too damned bad is that you are incapable of explaining why the Democrats needed to change the impeachment rules to their benefit?
Y tell me which change and I would be happy to oblige. I have been doing it for days now at two forums.

They have every legal right to do so. Deal with it.

Republicans allowed democrats to openly and fairly participate in the impeachment proceedings against Clinton in 1998. Democrats in the proceedings against Trump have told the republicans to go to hell of they think the democrats will reciprocate by allowing republicans to participate in their closed door unofficial secret impeachment proceedings against Trump.

Here is a grateful word of thanks from democrat John Conyers to republican Judiciary Committee Chairman Henry Hyde in 1998:

"You know as well as I," Conyers told Hyde, "that whatever action this committee takes must be fair, it must be bipartisan, for it to have credibility. The American people deserve no less, and history will judge us by how well we achieve that goal."

Sorry, Mr. Conyers, Adam Schitff cannot allow republicans to participate because his case is being built on inaccurate and dishonest twists of evidence for the purpose of achieving the supreme goal of all democrats leading up to the 2020 election: 'Trump must be impeached before he has the chance to stomp the democrat candidate in the 2020 election.'

Democrats have abandoned bipartisan format of Clinton impeachment

This in an INQUIRY. A vote on impeachment has not been taken yet. Behind closed doors is to protect those being questioned. When and if a vote is taken will determine when information will be revealed.

Trumpists have only themselves to blame. The GOP is free to provide evidence in defense of Trump but since there is none they will call irrelevant witnesses who have nothing to do with the inquiry instead. That is what the Democrats are preventing. Turning a evidence seeking inquiry into a partisan circus where the Trumpists are trying to score political points instead of participating in the proceedings. The Trumpists will need to wait until the trial in the Senate for that.

I see then it's a not a democratic process. At least not when capital 'D' Democrats are running it anyway.

For crying out loud, how on earth would you make it a "democratic investigation"? I keep asking you guys that. What should be happening? Should there be cameras present when witnesses are being questioned?

none of this matters....Trump will never be removed from office.

The more they hate on Trump the more popular he becomes. He's like a real life superhero it's the most heartwarming story ever.

Sorry, Mr. Conyers, Adam Schitff cannot allow republicans to impede the progress of the investigation phase of this process as that is all they are really interested in doing. That has been the Trumpette game plan from jump street. They will get their shot...just not yet. So whine till the cows come home. Howl to the moon if you choose. Unlike you clowns that relish libs and dems and anybody that is not a Trumpette when their hair and pants are on fire, it does not interest us or entertain us in the least when you are in the same position. We just couldn't care less.

I am glad I am no longer associated with the democrat party.

I'm enjoying watching a bunch of low-functioning right whingers play the same juvenile schoolyard game with a name. And there's the added bonus of them declaring the value of their opinions.
In other words, you might be right but it'll just be by accident.

You realize there will be a public portion, right? And a public vote?

You can't do public initially because you can't let the witnesses line-up their stories, nor can you out them at this point if they're whistle-blowers. This portion of impeachment is analogous to a Grand Jury proceeding, and everything being done is no different than that type of proceeding. Then it will move public. These complaints are simply much adieu about nothing.

Sure they do, and nobody said that they didn't, but the Republicans are bound by the rules of the Democrats that they set after they won the House in 2018.

Wait....you mean rules changes like a sitting President being told he mo longer has the Constitutional right to select SC Justices? Remember when you guys were all in support of making changes like that that COMPLETELY flew in the face of the Constitution? It was a ****ing hoot, let me tell ya.

At least this "change" you are bitching about falls in the bounds of actual authority that Congress possesses.

The funniest part is watching people bitch about a change that really is nothing more than a return to following the Constitution, which Republicans completely forgot about a decade ago.

Apparently he didn't read his own cited report.

"Democrats are holding hearings behind closed doors and have so far provided Republicans with little more than the right to question witnesses who show up in a secure hearing room in the basement of the U.S. Capitol."

Hard to guess what they want. Maybe they think Fox News should be present when witnesses are questioned.
Truth of the matter is the "rules" change was to protect the whistle-blowers' & others' identities.

Fact of the matter is, there are NO RULES. Each impeachment is different, and at the SOLE discretion of the House it is tailored to the events at hand. Trump & the Senate intimidated the witnesses, and they need protection. That's the whole purpose of the whistle-blower laws, and it's critical. Those complaining seem to have a problem with the Constitution, which clearly spells out impeachment is the sole purview of the House.

Regardless, after this initial investigatory phase - which is analogous to a Grand Jury - is over, everything does indeed move public. So this is much adieu about nothing.

Perhaps he will not be removed in the Senate. But as more facts continue to come out during the impeachment hearing, it may move the public to remove Trump via the election. Already the Indies moved 19 points against Trump since the inquiry began. That's a huge move, and could absolutely bite Trump come next November.

Leftists are immoral, dishonest, and above all, extremely corrupt. It's the New Democrat Socialist Party in action with A. Schitt leading the coup.

oh the irony

people in NYC who actually knew trump from 20-30 years ago know what a immoral creep he is, the poorly educated rubes in flyover country didn't

No rules have been changed for this inquiry. This is Trump's Grand Jury where evidence is gathered and charges filed. There are no cross examinations and the defense cannot call witnesses in a Grand Jury. It is exactly like the Constitution states it should be.

How true. Trump found a whole new set of rubes in the south and midwest. New Yorkers have been wise to him for many years.

Sad to say, I wouldn't let a single Republican near the Grand-Jury type portion of the investigatory process! They'll leak back to Trump and/or intimidate the witnesses. They're only desire is to disrupt the process, putting partisanship over factual reality.

The only reason why the State Department has defected from Trump and shown-up to give depositions, is because they trust the secure & private environment the Dems are providing. I suspect this defection wave is really getting to Trump. Greatly. He can't control them or the process, and he's a control freak. Sucks to be him.

Regardless, everything will come-out as we eventually move to the public phases, and there's nothing the Repubs will be able to do about it.

Trump was a 98% lock to lose to Hillary in 2016. When you oversample Dems in your polling it tends to skew the results.
Obviously you respond in this manner, because the numbers are against you. Have you seen the Indies that swung over? Care to address them?

LOL That was not why he won...the polls were mostly correct and hillary won the popular vote by nearly 3 million votes. The 3 Blue States were swung by hair thin margins driven by Democrats who got duped by the trolls on Social media. Those 50 million stolen Facebook accounts were put to good use and Bernie supporters were expertly targeted with the data Manfort gave the Russians. It's no mystery, Trumps election was illegitimate because of foreign interference and the history books will state that.
