On the news this morning was a news report from a Bernie rally last night. A young woman said she was going to vote for Bernie so she could get free college.

This is a great example of now socialist/commies like Bernie suck in the young and the entitled. They think they are going to get something for nothing. They think the OTHER guy should pay for what they want.

And what's wrong with investing in educating for the future, and why should we burden our future professionals with decades of debt from student loans? You never went to university did you, that much is painfully obvious or you wouldn't be whining as you do in just about every post. Whine, whine ****ing whine.

FYI I have an associate degree in electronic. I worked in the electronics industry for 47 years before retiring. I paid my own way. I started out in electronics in the Navy and the rest was paid by the GI bill.

From your post I guess we can put you down with the something for nothing crowd. The one where the OTHER GUY foots the bill.

Yes, that would be me. I earned my degree with a help from a government grant. I repaid it, in full, many times over from taxes I paid over my 50 years of working in both education and healthcare. You managed an associate degree which is about as credible an accomplishment as a high-school diploma Got anything else you want to to add?

Well how about the fact my associate degree allowed to be a successful member of the tax paying society. It was far more valuable than a degree in gender studies that some of the young and foolish are sucked into. They end up with a huge college debt and find no one will hire the. They are the fools that the old joke "do you want fries with that burger' was talking about.

IMO unless you go to college for a needed specific degree for something like doctor, lawyer, engineer, teacher or the like, you are wasting your time in college. Going to college just to say you went to college and get a degree in "fine arts" really only means you went to a lot of parties, drank a lot of beer, and ran up a huge college debt for nothing.

"Gender studies":lamo My career was in cervical pathology. Quite useful saving women's lives from cancer, wouldn't you say? I did have a great time partying though.

"Free college" isn't free ice cream. It is society paying for self betterment. Other countries have discovered its benefit.

I have brought these points up many times as well

I'm not so sure it is Gov that is responsible, I say it's has more to do with our citizenry


No one is stopping our citizenry to become a Tech or a Doc
