Trump Caves on Doral Site for G-7

You can have my extra big slice and the two scoops because I am burn out on sweets. I worked as a baker and pasty cook for a while in college and I overindulged then. I still love to bake but I seldom eat it because it just doesn't interest me with very few exceptions.

my wife likes sweets, but i am mostly into savory these days other than peanut butter and sugar free maple syrup. i still have a brownie from time to time. i am an amateur baker, but i do ok at it. i haven't quit my day job.

Thanks. I do try to be kind and compassionate and try not to think evil of everyone all the time.

Quite the opposite of the guy who occupies the WH.
Congrats.

What? People had a problem with The Donald scamming taxpayers out of millions? Poor Twumpy!

Funny how somebody who makes so many people a victim of his own doings, those in government, people in our country, our troops and foreign allies, etc., etc., etc.....just loooves to try and play the victim himself. And there are fools out there falling for his BS and feeling sorry for him, takes all kinds I guess. Never witnessed anyone as low as this POS in office.

I love to bake but I'm not crazy enough to do it professionally. I did it once but I know how hard it is to run a business. No thanks.

I love baking bread.

Okay story over.

The meeting will be held "elsewhere."

Next "complaint?" :coffeepap:
You are missing the point. We should not have to tell him not to push his own properties as a G7 summit venue. You shouldn't have to tell any small town mayor how that looks. He ran for the highest office in the land and has been in for 3 + years and we still have to hit him on the nose with a newspaper to get him to behave. Its not just beneath the dignity of the office, its beneath ours. We don't want the responsibility of having to retrain this 73 year old Rottweiler over and over again for another four years.

He has to go.

If you ignore history. Sure. Otherwise, it would be a pretty big assumption to think he wouldn't scam the American taxpayer. Or do you really think he would scam children with cancer, and other charities, but suddenly develop scruples in this case? When he just handed himself a juicy federal contract?

How Donald Trump Shifted Kids-Cancer Charity Money Into His Business

Trump Foundation Will Dissolve, Accused of ‘Shocking Pattern of Illegality’ - The New York Times

Strange, how funny it is that people always gloss over how much accusation and how little evidence is brought up in these kinds of things... or that no one apparently had an issue with this until the man became president.. or that most of this didn't even really exist until he came down that escalator.

I have no issue with the use of his own property for the G7 summit, so long as all bills and filings are properly followed. But now that people have caused such a stink over this for nothing and the summit isn't going to be held there.

I think all of this is rather moot at this point.

Trump suggests something stupid/corrupt. Trump is informed of its stupidity/corruption and backs down like a guilty schoolboy. Trump lovers laugh and say, "That's our Trump!" This show is getting old.

maybe he can still have it there by himself and call it the G1. he can sit on his gilded throne with a taco bowl and babble to himself about stolen strawberries.

That's absurd, it would never happen. Obviously, he would hold the G-2 with Putin.

The 'getting old' part is 'trump suggests something corrupt', not the 'backs down'. Let's get this guy out of office for his crimes.

Sooner that later I might add. He has spun out of control and needs to go. !!

This almost confirms my suspicion that it was merely meant to be a distraction for all the other bad things he's caught up in. I suppose they were all too stupid to realize that this would make impeachment more, not less, likely.

Poor Trumpkin. Even his weekends are going badly now. Backs out of bedbug heaven....I mean Trump Doral. Announces that the US Troopers high tailin' out of Syria are ........headed to Iraq to.........fight ISIS?????

Gee DonDon, what happened to "bringing the troopers home"? What happened to "ISIS is defeated"?

God for all Trumpkin's bluster he is what we always thought he was, a groveling, scared little boy who needs a hug from Pappa Putin.

But that would suggest they "think" about anything in that WH or that Trumpkin "thinks" about anything other than his Kaching....Kaching Presidency and Pappa Putin.

This is what happens when a leader is so impulsive, so completely wrapped around the axle of what is going on between his own two ears. The result is that nobody else does anything. Nobody else even thinks about what they should or should not be doing. He has the entire WH and Administration stove-piped directly to him and of course that excellent, "genius" mind of his can't handle it. Another SHOCKER!

Of course Trumpkin will blame them for not having an infinite number of plans at his beck and call to parallel the infinite number of idiot ideas tumbling around in that gum-ball brain of his.

Before we see all the blast posts from the IRA in St Petersburg about the excellence of the exalted Trumpkin and "all this winning" lets not forget that Trumpkin drove 4 casino businesses into the ground. Who ever heard of the HOUSE LOSING!!!

So how does crap like this happen? It happens because for all Trumpkin's bluster about being an excellent student and knowing more about everything he had and has no frigging clue how to build a staff that actually works. Worse than that he has basically destroyed administrative offices that did actually work.

1. I think the possibility exists that this was all about changing the news cycle. Anytime Trump is in the middle of terrible press he seems to come up with something to change the narrative.
I don't think this one work so well. It fed into the impeachment narrative, rather than deflect from it.

2. When Mulvaney announced Dorel, He mentioned they had looked at a number of places. Dorel was just the best. They should be able to announce the 'second best' as the new site for the
G7 right away. They of course will not be able to do this, because they did not study multiple locations. Maybe I am wrong, but if I am wrong then I would expect to hear the
announcement for the actual location today or tomorrow.

He could try to surprise the nation by NOT being an ass for once.

I would buy that if Trumpkin had not prepped up the G7 participants in Paris for where he was taking the 2020.

Trump has never stopped himself from grifting. You have to stop HIM. He will never stop himself. Any more proof we need that Trumpkin ia afraid of Impeachment? You boys go ahead and make more of your "Impeachment...bring it on" arguments. Better check that with DonDon before you start in though.

that's the next thing that i want to try. i'd like to make some good artisan bread with a nice crust, multi-grain sandwich bread, and sub rolls. it will have to wait until i have more time, though.

"The Framers' intentions for this clause were twofold: to prevent a society of nobility from being established in the United States, and to protect the republican forms of government from being influenced by other governments. In Federalist No. 22, Alexander Hamilton stated, "One of the weak sides of republics, among their numerous advantages, is that they afford too easy an inlet to foreign corruption." Therefore, to counter this "foreign corruption" the delegates at the Constitutional Convention worded the clause in such a way as to act as a catch-all for any attempts by foreign governments to influence state or municipal policies through gifts or titles."

It's almost like our founders foresaw all the potential for a give-and-take between politicians from our country and politicians and entities outside of our country and wanted to nip it in the bud.

Now, the only way that works is if American voters press politicians to not let it happen.
