Modern conservatism has an entirely distinct recent history from the rest of the world.

If conservative media says something is true, that's as far as their target audience goes. No amount of factual evidence to the contrary will even be considered. They'll just say its fake news or deep state and that will be that.

Thread Title: Justice Department says Durham has found something significant, and that critics should be careful.

Somebody needs to explain why critics should be careful. That sounds like nothing more than a boldfaced effort to stifle criticism which oh by the way is not going to work.

Critics have nothing to fear. What is that argument? Please tell me. Is the argument that if Durham finds something Trumpkin's critics are going to go to prison? What is their sentence going to be, 5 to 10. The thread title is a laughable absurdity as is the thread itself.

Although it does tell you how much Trumpettes want to flip this country to an authoritarian form of government with Trumpkin filling the Putin, Xi role of dear leader forever. Good luck with that boys. Ain't gonna' happen.

I didn't say he wasn't... what I'm saying is that his close involvement with Durham's investigation isn't helping establish it's legitimacy. Just because he can do something doesn't mean he should. In fact - if I had my way - Durham would have been appointed as a Special Counsel and would have had the same level of autonomy as Mueller had. That's why we have Special Counsels in the first place - so there can be as few questions as possible about the legitimacy of their investigations.

If that's the attitude you want to take, so be it.... for me, though, it makes me wonder why Barr isn't giving Durham a free hand - is he afraid of what he'll find.... or what he won't find?

I didn't see any liberals concerned about the FBI, DOJ, and other agencies stonewalling Gowdy and other investigative parties.

Why is it a concern now for liberals who supported this in the past?

So let me help you out. I was just trying to get you to admit it. You're talking about Bengazi aren't you? That investigatione lasted all the way up to the next election and though the House still held the Majority after the next election the investigation ended. Why? Because it was motivated by politics and nothing more than politics.

Lets not forget that HRC actually came before that committee and gave testimony instead of STONEWALLING and that Mike Pompeo now whining that State Dept attorneys are not being allowed by the House rules to sit in with State Dept witnesses specifically refused State Dept attorneys in support of HRC's testimony.

The problem with all that is Barr started out his tenure by flat out lying about the Mueller report and keeping it from Americans for some 5 weeks. He has zero credibility with me and should be impeached WITH Trump. A twofor. !!!

Barr has been AG for 9 months....seems like a lifetime for Dems
