Democrats 'leaking like mad' in impeachment inquiry and 'it's working,' Brit Hume says

Normally, politicians run to the direction of their party in the primary and then towards the center in the general. When the party goes to the extreme, which the Republicans did beginning with the Tea Party movement and then the Freedom Caucus, and primaried even most conservatives like with Eric Cantor, then Republican candidates running for reelection must run even further to the right to get elected in the primary and have too much ground to make up to the middle to convince enough moderate voters to go their way. This is, of course, true for the Dems. But despite what the Reps say, the Dems as a party are simply not so controlled by the extreme left as are the Reps by the extreme right. But wait, there's more. Voting conscious. Not to worry. A wrestling match won by conscious upon retirement only.
You dont see the left running toward the extreme this cycle?

You have to be patient with these guys.

They’re watching their fool’s gold fuhrer self immoluate. They know it too.

They would rather not look forward in this process, because the prospects aren’t promising.

So, they’ll look backwards (a favorite view for right wingers in general) and repeat whatever talking points the man in their AM radio feeds them.

"they’ll look backwards (a favorite view for right wingers".

I don't mean to correct you. But...this IS their view of things. Aw, yes. The 50's. When America was white and women and coloreds knew their place. MAWA.

Hard to say. Trump has very high approval ratings among Republicans so i would think very few if any would vote to impeach him. The problem is on the democrat side in purple states. Many of them ran on being moderates willing to break with the party and be willing to compromise with republicans. A party line vote could cost them seats.

What little history we have on this is that there is some party crossover in favor of impeachment. And, Trump is giving reason just about every day for Republicans to crossover.

Not as many as on the right have for as long and have held such sway. For sure. Otherwise, the mods that were elected in 2018 would not have made it in the primaries, for just one example.

Sounds great, impeach away. No reason not if they have all these votes.

In fairness i will wait to see who they nominate. Who in this current crop do you consider moderate?

Biden is MOR. His votes in favor of the Iraq war, making it more difficult to declare personal bankruptcy and thus in favor of loan sharks and in favor of Justice Thomas while joining Republican Arlen Specter in tag-team evisceration of the women testifying before his committee pretty much puts him there in my book.
