Define what it means exactly when you say "they were set up for a press conference immediately after the meeting".
What does that mean, be specific and precise, please.

Of course, you might be referring to the permanent press position outside the White House, which is always staffed by crews from all the major networks PLUS DC-i Communications.
Are you saying that the Speaker has an ownership stake in these companies?
