10/15/19 debate thread

Yes because my money then goes to care for other americans not to buy yachts for rich men.

****ing serious?
Ok, if you want to make decisions based on goofy illusions be my guest.

I have no idea why Gabbard's a Dem. I like & respect conservatives, and want some in the Dem Party. But she seems like she does nothing but lob hand grenades. Not sure what her angle is, but it doesn't seem conservatism or moderation.

She does not lob hand grenades, simply she just exposes what the other dems wished stayed silent. But her policies are mostly on par with the democratic party and also has some conservative policies. Where she stands out is her anti war stance since she opposes military intervention, oddly the same stance trump took, so it seems to be less of a stance hated by voters and more a stance hated by the two major parties.

Also you need to watch her workout videos, I think if she made them more public she would have the male vote wrapped up.

You know, I think O'Rourke is an empty t-shirt (he never wears a suit). But after watching the Trump-Rudy show for the last several weeks, in comparison he looks pretty dayem competent!

He was handling the El Paso shooting really well until he said he was coming for America's guns. He's done.

Yeah I'm not liking how the debates keep coming but the numbers on any given stage doesn't go down.
I thought so, too. But I do like that virtually every candidate seems to be able to contribute an interesting point.

Translation: you didnt think of an answer for my reply. Go on, spew trash now.

I will admit she looks and acts younger. Her age, to me, is marginally acceptable. But I'd ideally prefer someone younger.

Immediately after her last rally, she stayed afterwards to take selfies with FOUR THOUSAND people.

I’m thirty years younger than her, and if I had just finished leading a rally I’d want nothing more than to escape to my hotel room and have a drink.

Age is a very limited indicator of one’s capacity.

I wish Democrats would figure out that it's more important to talk about economic issues than guns. So many poor and middle-class gun owners could vote Democrats if they weren't alienated by the pointless gun debate.

I'm 36 and I'd probably head to the hotel immediately as well. **** that ****.

She is sensible & pragmatic. Unfortunately, that does not sell well today ...

yep, smart and she's not too far left. But she has some issues. She has a reputation of treating her staff like crap. She has zero charisma

About $8000 in taxes (depending on your bracket, of course) is not worse than $16,000 in premiums, copays and deductibles.

It is when your employer pays the majority of those costs. Paying $8k in taxes would be a $7500 increase in expenditures for me and as someone in the middle class it would devastating.

blue collar union workers in states like Michigan and Wisconsin are probably not going to turn out to support an openly gay man

But if they don't oppose him the way they opposed Clinton, then Trump might lose them anyway.

I may be impatient, but I'm ready to narrow this margin a bit to sharpen this sword for the fight in the general.

What are some of these conservative policies she supports?

There is no answer for unhinged babel.

Sure there is. You look bad, because I said I'd rather my money go to care for my fellow americans, and you said you'd rather spend money to buy **** for millionaires.

You look bad because you're putting a handful of Americans above everyone else.

No, I don't think so. Health Insurance companies profit margins are pretty small. By law that have to spend at least 80% of their premium revenue for healthcare services - the rest is overheld; which likely wouldn't be reduced much under a civil service bureaucracy. And of course government run systems have no incentive to economize or improve efficiency; the just ask for more money each year like most other government entities.
It's mandated in the ACA to 20%, down from the mid-to-hi 20's prior.

Booker keeps entering every answer like he just walked on the stage and doesn't know what the **** is going on. So he approaches the answer as loose and general as possible.

Someone said that about South Bend, Indiana at one time too.

LOL, didn't say that at all. You do realize that most people working in the HC insurance industry are your "fellow Americans, too", right?

She's classically "Minnesota nice" and that doesn't win national elections.

Yeah, I just flipped over from watching "FBI" during a commercial break and saw her get into beta's face over his confiscation schemes. She knows if she backs gun confiscation, she cannot win and might get hurt in her home state. Pushing for feel good background checks won't hurt her in the primary and might not hurt her in a general election. Pushing for bans and confiscation is a sure loser
