U.K. family held at detention center after accidentally crossing Canadian border into U.S.

But the baby bathtub!

It was filthy!!

Just like in a...

...CONCENTRATION CAMP!!!

The richest country in the world can't even be bothered to provide adequate sanitary equipment for babies in their detention? There's no excuse for that and it's certainly not something to find amusing as you seem to do.

Why would Princess Squirrel Swerver and her lawyer lie?

I bet that bathtub was swarming with bubonic plague!!

Mengele would be appalled!!!

 :donkeyfla

Keeping babies in unsanitary conditions is something you find funny? Or are you just a 12-year old trying to be "edgy" behind the safety of a computer screen?

I can drive you down a gravel road past the little aluminum obelisk that marks the border. I haven't gone far down the road but I bet you that now there's multiple Border Patrol agents on it.

There must be surveillance cameras all along the border.

Take some pictures and post it.

I'll go one better. This is a video, driving along the border. The actual border starts at 3:45.

That parallel road you see, separated by 5 feet of grass. That's in the USA. If there was animal on the road, it would be real easy to swerve across it. Then you would head down that road, looking for a spot where tarmac crosses the grass. With cameras along the border, I imagine border patrol response would be very quick, especially as you're not going to find a piece of tarmac to cross back.

I speak from personal experience, sometimes when we drive down to The States to see our friends, we come back this way. It's a nice drive, and lets you beat the traffic if there is an accident on the highway.

Now I'm tempted as a US citizen to drive down that road over and over. "Hi, me again".

No. You definitely do not want to do that. American border agents are scary people. You do not **** around with them if you want to sleep in your own bed that night.

Trumps Amerika

A couple from England who was visiting Canada and took a wrong turn into the United States — swerving to avoid an animal in the road — has been detained with their 3-month-old baby and shipped to the Berks Detention Center in Leesport, Pa., according to their attorneys.

The baby boy has been subjected to frigid and filthy conditions, developing blotchy skin and what seems to be an eye infection, his mother wrote in a sworn statement. At one point the child was left naked and exposed for several hours in the cold jail, after all his clothes and blankets were taken for washing, she said.

The couple, David Connors, 30, and Eileen Connors, 24, says they were denied the right to contact their embassy.

“We will be traumatized for the rest of our lives by what the United States government has done to us,” Connors wrote in her statement.

Attorney Bridget Cambria, of Aldea – The People’s Justice Center, filed a complaint on behalf of the family with the inspector general of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, which oversees the nation’s immigration agencies.

U.K. family held at detention center after accidentally crossing Canadian border into U.S., attorneys say

Ah yes, the Land of The Free and Home of The Brave.

And this happens as the wife of a US diplomat flees the country after manslaughter with a vehicle.

It's a ways away. Out past Abbotsford, BC is the Chilliwack River and at the south end of it is Chilliwack Lake. At the south end of that is a campground called Sapper Park, named for the regiment of Army Engineers that used to be based nearby. And, finally, at the south end of that is the gravel road I described.
Or go down a residential street in my home town, Surrey. The street is 0 Ave. and those aluminum obelisks are along there too. I could cross the street, across the grass verge and be standing on a residential street in Washington state.

Did ICE beat you down if your puppy ran across the border into the US?

Anyway I asked because looking at the map I didn't see an island off the left coast of canada that had a US border.

Something doesn’t sound right. You don’t accidentally cross the border at Vancouver.
They swerved and ended up in the US.

Actually you can, very easily. See post #33 for a video.

Not sure, but even citizens probably should enter the country legally.

There Isn't one. I just moved here about 8 years ago.
What there is is a peninsula where the border cuts off the tip and isolates about a thousand Americans who have to bus their kids across border crossings to Blaine, Washington to go to school. That's Point Roberts.

British family jailed after mistakenly crossing Canadian border into US

Haha, went there many a Sunday on a beer run, back in bad old days of British Columbia Blue laws.

That fish market doubled in size during a beer strike in BC. And there's probably as many gas pumps as residents in Point Roberts.
What were those bars called, the Surf and the Reef?, one of them was owned by Gene Kinisky, Canada's greatest athlete.
I remember those days...

Literal brownshirts!

Can we expect a conspiracy theory from you? So, what in your estimation were they plotting (along with their baby)?

Sorry - I'm not a Trump-deranged Democrat. Drug-related I'd expect.

The Reef. Haven't thought of that place in years. It was huge, and I can remember jumping the fence to get in because the drinking age was 21. Good times. :)
