Trump, the great betrayer

Irrelevant. Turkey invaded Syria. It is up to Syria to defend their own borders. And, Syria is defending their own borders. This isn't rocket science.

They have never defended their own borders under Assad and they are not now. They are simply providing an anvil for Turkey to hammer the Kurds against. Russian forces moving in just to make sure the "right people" get killed and to put up the same sort of blocking force against US forces that we were providing vs Turkish forces before Trump sent them to the rear.

We were there to fight ISIS and won. No need to be there anymore. If ISIS makes a comeback in that area you can come back later to say, "I told you so".

GREAT ANSWER! That one should go into the DP Forum hall of shame.

And for the record, what does your response have to do with Assad "defending his borders"

"Turkey invaded Syria. It is up to Syria to defend their own borders."

Iran invades Saudi Arabia. It is up to SA to defend their own borders."

"And, Syria is defending their own borders."

Really? What confrontation can you cite?

"This isn't rocket science."

Yet it was all decided by a very stable genius of great and unmatched wisdom. Or, do you disagree that this was not all Trump's decision, alone? Do you think your President is a "very stable genius" of "great and unmatched wisdom" as He says?

Funny how society has done a complete 180 since Hillary lost in 2016. Now it's the leftists who want to keep troops in foreign countries they never heard of have jackbooted Antifa thugs terrorising people in the streets.

Syria has not asked for our help in defending their borders. You know darn well if Iran were to invade SA that SA would ask for US help.

There is no country called the Kurds. Turkey invaded Syria. It is up to Syria to defend it's own territory. That's not our job. Let Syria deal with it. Trump was right, yet again. Funny how the left want to get us out of endless wars, unless it is Trump, then endless wars are fine.

Kurds had a pretty good chance of carving out a homeland in Syria. We can argue that point all day, but now that we've pulled out, there is no hope of that.

I get your point about "endless wars", but the Kurds did most of the fighting for us against ISIS, and turning our backs against when have a detrimental effect on America's foreign policy for many years to come. One of the generals, I forgot who it was, pointed out that the number of soldiers in Syria didn't actually cost us that much, and pulling out was penny wise and pound foolish.

The closest we have on Kurdish loses is north of 11,000 dead. We have a more accurate figure for US deaths in Syria attriting the Caliphate. 4 US dead attriting the Caliphate.

Notice I do not term this effort "defeating ISIS". We have NOT defeated ISIS. We have simply attrited the Caliphate, a great achievement on the road to defeating ISIS but not the defeat of ISIS. Frankly I always thought the Caliphate was the worst idea ISIS ever had. All it did was paint a target on their backs.

You darn well know that Turkey is not invading Syria. They're invading "Kurdistan". Slaughtering man, woman and child. Soldier and civilian. Syria's soldiers are not even fighting the Turks. We told the Kurds we would protect them. We gave them our word. We went back on our word to them. Everybody who understands that one must stand by their own word knows that. Especially "the generals" (the ones Trump know more than) that gave their word to the Kurd commanders. It's bad enough that Bush2 made the first time in American history unprovoked first-strike attack on another nation when invading Iraq. But back-stabbing a faithful ally that donated their blood to an American cause of fighting the ISIS terrorist who exist to destroy America?

Turkey is invading Syrian territory. There is no country called "Kurds".

Revealing to the world our cowardice by dishonorably running from our commitments with our tail between our legs, this is another example of the Repubs habit of being both short sighted and penny wise and pound foolish.

Acting as if Numnuts defeated ISIS and they don't pose a threat puts Americans at risk. The 9/11 attack was done by 19 terrorists with a minimum of resources and it cost us up to two trillion (that's with a T) dollars. Then there's the human toll of 3000 dead civilians.

I believe fighting terrorists is best done by our soldiers rather than our civilians, on their territory rather than ours...

Turkey is invading Syrian territory. There is no country called "Kurds".

That's why I put "Kurdistan" in quotation marks. it is a geographic area where most Kurds live. As far as Turkey is concerned, they are going into Syria to wipeout Kurds, period. They are not going in to "invade" Syria or fight Syrians or fight ISIS. Trump gave Erdogan the OK to clear-out the Kurds and further backed that up with a "ceasefire" to allow the Turks time to do just that under the auspices of the US, by Trumps own word. That's the purpose of the "ceasefire" is to give official time for Turkey to clear-away the Kurds from NE Syria. Turkey and Syria are not in armed engagement. Everything I said is true. What you're saying is ignorant of reality. The only reason Turkey is "invading" Syria is to kill Kurds and would not have happened if Trump didn't say it was OK.

So what do we have to date with regard to Syria:
- Trump gave Erdogan the green light to invade and withdrew US troops to the rear to get them out of the way and allow it to happen (don't care what grinning idiot Pence says, that is what happened)
- Trump issues all sorts of baseless empty threats which have meant nothing to Erdogan who continues his drive to kill Kurds and take land mainly using mercenaries to do it, killing and committing atrocities along the way
- US troops are now cut off mainly because they have been pulled back to bases and Trump refuses to defend their ability to move freely with US air power which could easily free them up and would sweep Russian air power from field were US air forces so assigned
- Trump asks repeat ASKS Erdogan to call a cease fire and institutes weak and meaningless sanctions which Erdogan brushes away with the sweep of a hand
- Russia and Syrian forces move north ostensibly to support the Kurds who have been forced to beg for their help least they be massacred by this Turkish slaughter and land grab
- In truth Russian and Syrian forces are just an anvil the Turks can use to hammer the Kurds against. This will not end until Kurdish leadership is lopped off leaving a much more pliable Kurdish population for Putin to handle living in a much reduced space since Erdogan is going to deposit about 2.5M Arabs into the space he has created in Northern Syria. Russian and Syrian forces will not act to defend the Kurds until Kurdish leadership has been eliminated and/or Erdogan goes farther than THEY want him to go, Toothless Trumpkin having virtually nothing to do with that decision.
- more bluster and yammering from Trump sending Pence to clean up
- ultimately Erdogan has a scheduled WH visit coming up which means we Americans will be left to watch this killer welcomed by the great betrayer Trumpkin

So if we go back to the options we could consider for how this all started either:
- Erdogan has played the great negotiator Trumpkin for the biggest fool on the planet or Trumpkin has been in on this all along

Trumpkin thinks we are isolated from the ramifications and consequences of his disaster because we are "7,000 miles away". Think again Trumpkin. No matter how much you yammer about not caring about the Kurds, you have abandoned and stabbed in the back an ally in the field and we will never recover from that certainly not until we GET RID OF YOU!

Meanwhile in the space of days, the map of the ME is being reconfigured to Putin's advantage. Nice job Trumpkin. I am sure you will get your pat on the head from Putin.
What Putin wants Putin gets and Trump will make sure of it.
Trump is nothing but a Putin puppet
Have a nice night

ISIS was never really defeated
it may have had a radical downsizing by us being over there but they are still there and are deep in Syria
ISIS is a mind set and it is almost impossible to completely kill a belief ( mind set )
have a nice day

This article explains fully:

Note to Republicans: Trump will betray you just like he betrayed the Kurds

To a guy like Trump, schtupping a pornstar just after his newlywed wife gave birth, no biggy, right?

****ing wrong.

And now he is betraying the soul of America, what it means to be an American.

And a majority of republicans are complicit in this crime.

What did we learn from the failed promises in the Budapest Memorandum? That the US will not honor its commitments and promises.

Every country has "geographic" areas where people live. Bottom line is we have a border with Turkey on one side and Syria on the other side. It is Syria's responsibility to protect it's own borders from invasions from other countries.

ISIS swath of territory is no more. Personally, I think we should have MOABed the prisons they were at. Problem solved.

The left is deeply emotionally attached to war. It's like a life partner to them.

Sorry for your loss, I guess.

This spin is SO weak.

And its just projection.

There's supporting foreign wars, which y'all usually do.

And then there's executing an orderly exit that doesn't **** our allies. And make our troops abandon the men and women they've been fighting alongside.

Respect the troops my ass.

There is nothing y'all won't stoop in support of your reality TV star.

I did not use to think that people could be so easily conned by a person like Donald Trump. I'm almost 60 and, sure, I've seen people get conned before. I just didn't think such an obvious con man could play so many people so easily.

I guess these are the type of people that con men look for. The marks that can't protect themselves or are emotional and will allow themselves to be played.

Trump tapped 30 years of conservaitive conditioning. Any time he wanted applause he just spat out some word or concept conservatives had been conditioned to rage at. And the rubes cheered themsleves hoarse.

Almost a third of the population making fools.out of themselves repeating conspiracy theories nobody who gets their information anywhere but conservative media wold ever believe.

But they have a conditioned response to that too. "Liberals just think they're smarter than you, with all their reading and thinking and stuff. Stupid liberals. Rush Limbaugh told me what's REALLY happening. DEEP STATE!!1!1!!"

You can't fix stupid. Even the cynically manufactured.

that's the real genius of Trump. yeah, he's stupid about most things but he is great at picking up on what makes people emotional (so he can then financially rape them).

I find it interesting that Gopers always start wars and then blame the Dems for the outcomes of the wars. I guess they expect the Dems to fix the problems they start.

The economic ones too.

The only thing Trump betrayed was the hopes and dreams of the Hillary cult globalist. Getting our troops out of the middle east was a campaign promise. I guess you would rather have our young men and women killed day in and day out over nothing as long as you can make an accusation.

There's more than one way to get out of a conflict.

You can make an orderly exit where you don't **** your allies. The kind military folks execute.

Or you can just tell the dictator "**** our allies. Kill all you want. And invade a neighbor too. We'll get our guys out of the way so you don't get any bad PR in America."

But you keep cheering trump. The staybel jeenyus.

So you support the Islamic's attempts to disrupt the worlds energy supplies?

Interesting.

Ok.

Which the **** is it?

"Why do liberals like wars so much?"

Or "Hey. We gotta protect our oil supply!"

Gods your audience is stupid if they fall for jackasses telling them both of those things at the same time instead ofn running y'all out of town on a rail for it
