Note to Republicans: Trump will betray you just like he betrayed the Kurds

If there's a constant in Trump's life, it's betrayal. He has betrayed his business partners, his customers, his employees, his friends, his wives, and his voters. A man who is willing to betray those closest to him will not hesitate to turn his back on foreigners thousands of miles away.

In addition to abandoning the Kurds, the Trump administration is withdrawing from the Open Skies Treaty. Its most glaring defect is that it's a treaty. Trump opposes treaties because he loathes any agreement that redounds to other people's benefit. Moreover, treaties, like all reciprocal transactions, impose obligations on the signatories. To Trump, doing stuff for other people is for wimps and losers.

Major recent wars the US has been involved in have all been started by Republican Presidents. Every one of them.

I believe Hillary's prints are heavy on Syria and Libya,.

I did not use to think that people could be so easily conned by a person like Donald Trump. I'm almost 60 and, sure, I've seen people get conned before. I just didn't think such an obvious con man could play so many people so easily.

I guess these are the type of people that con men look for. The marks that can't protect themselves or are emotional and will allow themselves to be played.

Here I thought the hands on the whole area started with Bush and Cheney when they invaded Iraq for no good reason, i.e., there were no WMD's!!!

I find it interesting that Gopers always start wars and then blame the Dems for the outcomes of the wars. I guess they expect the Dems to fix the problems they start.

The only thing Trump betrayed was the hopes and dreams of the Hillary cult globalist. Getting our troops out of the middle east was a campaign promise. I guess you would rather have our young men and women killed day in and day out over nothing as long as you can make an accusation.

More precisely, there was no credible threat to the US from Iraq w/o regard to whether or not Iraq had WMD. In both cases, Iraq was unwilling to attack the US in the "foreseeable future".

Yeah, Trump got a lot of pressure, it was a bad move, testament to his stupidity.

But, history proves the article was correct.

I wish they were conned, it would restore my faith in America. Being conned is be a great excuse, but I think Trump supporters knew and know, exactly who and what they're supporting.

If you have an 8th grade comprehension of international relations, abandoning our commitment and our allies who had been fighting ISIS for us, sounds like a great idea. The next time ISIS kills Americans or our allies, we know who and who they support are to blame. Using his henchmen to strong arm our allies to corrupt our elections, is bad enough, but his ignorant gut is now threatening our security.

But hey, they got some judges in return...

Except the warhawks are all republicans. Care to try again?

So what do we have to date with regard to Syria:
- Trump gave Erdogan the green light to invade and withdrew US troops to the rear to get them out of the way and allow it to happen (don't care what grinning idiot Pence says, that is what happened)
- Trump issues all sorts of baseless empty threats which have meant nothing to Erdogan who continues his drive to kill Kurds and take land mainly using mercenaries to do it, killing and committing atrocities along the way
- US troops are now cut off mainly because they have been pulled back to bases and Trump refuses to defend their ability to move freely with US air power which could easily free them up and would sweep Russian air power from field were US air forces so assigned
- Trump asks repeat ASKS Erdogan to call a cease fire and institutes weak and meaningless sanctions which Erdogan brushes away with the sweep of a hand
- Russia and Syrian forces move north ostensibly to support the Kurds who have been forced to beg for their help least they be massacred by this Turkish slaughter and land grab
- In truth Russian and Syrian forces are just an anvil the Turks can use to hammer the Kurds against. This will not end until Kurdish leadership is lopped off leaving a much more pliable Kurdish population for Putin to handle living in a much reduced space since Erdogan is going to deposit about 2.5M Arabs into the space he has created in Northern Syria. Russian and Syrian forces will not act to defend the Kurds until Kurdish leadership has been eliminated and/or Erdogan goes farther than THEY want him to go, Toothless Trumpkin having virtually nothing to do with that decision.
- more bluster and yammering from Trump sending Pence to clean up
- ultimately Erdogan has a scheduled WH visit coming up which means we Americans will be left to watch this killer welcomed by the great betrayer Trumpkin

So if we go back to the options we could consider for how this all started either:
- Erdogan has played the great negotiator Trumpkin for the biggest fool on the planet or Trumpkin has been in on this all along

Trumpkin thinks we are isolated from the ramifications and consequences of his disaster because we are "7,000 miles away". Think again Trumpkin. No matter how much you yammer about not caring about the Kurds, you have abandoned and stabbed in the back an ally in the field and we will never recover from that certainly not until we GET RID OF YOU!

Meanwhile in the space of days, the map of the ME is being reconfigured to Putin's advantage. Nice job Trumpkin. I am sure you will get your pat on the head from Putin.

Trump has no life long friends. He doesn't appear to like dogs. He never laughs. He is a stone cold sociopath, and the only person he cares for is himself. He'll toss everyone under the bus to save himself.

I pointed out that (contrary to another poster's post) US troops had not been removed from the ME. Rather they were just re-positioned in the ME. [or even more added not sure]

And when you read those words, you think that I have objected to protecting SA oil refineries.

It's weird world you live in.

My response was motivated by this sentence in your post:


Troops have been removed from the Middle East. And troops have been sent to Saudi Arabia in response to a recent attack.

It's a weird world you live in that you can ignore that fact, and try to suggest something different.
