Amid a Turkish assault, the Kurds, or Syrian Democratic Forces, have struck a deal with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, backed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, that will bring forces loyal to Assad back into areas that have been under Kurdish control for years.

“An agreement has been reached with the Syrian government—whose duty it is to protect the country’s borders and preserve Syrian sovereignty—for the Syrian Army to enter and deploy along the Syrian-Turkish border to help the SDF stop this aggression [by Turkey],” the Kurds said in a statement.

U.S. ‘Withdraws’ as Kurds Strike Deal to Let Assad’s Forces Into Region

Why don't we elect a president who is not beholden to some foreign power?

Gee who could have seen this coming???

"Beholden to some foreign power?"

Does that region belong to us? Is it even ours to lose?

The region might not be ours to lose, but our good word in the world sure the hell is, and Trump is doing his level best to make sure its as good as his word to a contractor on one of his projects.

Why do you think trump and his supporters are down with selling out are allies and succumbing to murderous dictators? trump and his admin neophytes lied to the Kurds in regards to talking them out of aligning with Syria, saying they’d take care of Turkey.

Are you forgetting Turkey getting those S-400s from Ru$$ia, an existential threat to Israel? Are you good with the ethnic cleanser Erdogan coming to the USA for a state visit in a month? So much for those 12,000 dead Kurdish Soldiers who fought for the USA — Ungrateful Sabotaging Ally.

Daesh appreciates the support of trump and his supporters in rebuilding what the Kurds had terminated, especially letting those 60 ‘high value’ prisoners escape. It won’t be long before the Islamic State is back to 100,000 again.

Even Evangelical Leaders can’t stomach what this compromised, corrupt, lying traitor has done in appeasing this Kurdish Slaughter.

When did the US ever promise they would protect the Kurds from Turkey?

You're kidding right? The talking point of Republicans, even during the Obama admin, was that we couldn't leave Iraq because we couldn't abandon the Kurds.

Now, you are supportive of abandoning them because it's Trump. Trump supporters truly are a cult.

What is this good word you feel was violated?

We aren't talking about Iraq. But since you bring it up, we stayed out of a fight the Iraqi Kurds had with the rest of Iraq and guess what happened? They stopped fighting.

I'll ask you again...when did the US ever promise they would protect the Kurds from Turkey.

Exactly, save your money America for a real emergency.

Australia is going to invade America.

Peace? Under Trump? :lol:He's expanded much of Obama's war efforts, including drone strikes and the resulting civilian casualties.

Trump is the first President since Carter not to start any new wars.

He hasn't done as much as I'd like, but he's done far more than I ever thought possible before he came along.

Whats more important is why you guys allow 2000 children per year to blow there heads off.

2000 kids find there dads or mums gun and accidentally kill them selves. Well done America.

You cant keep up with china. Even with trump. They crush you anytime

Australia is going to invade America.

Remember, our citizens are armed, your's are not

You wouldn't stand a chance

What were U.S. Troops even in Northern Syria to begin with?

2000 kids find there dads or mums gun and accidentally kill them selves. Well done America.

And Australia is open to invasion and tyranny by its government(wink)

You people really hate peace, don't you?

Yes, because peace comes from abandoning your allies with zero notice so many of them can be slaughtered.

Considering syria is a direct ally of russia and under their protection everyone should be surprised they let american forces stay there that long. America has not legally been in syria since the early parts of operation iraqi freedom, and that was land leased from assad by the us govt for some questionable interrogations.

Another Republican president, another betrayal of Kurds. Remember when Bush 41 told them to rise up against Saddam, the US was with them? And then changed his mind and let Saddam slaughter them?

Absurd....what else is new though. All we ever get from the Right is obfuscation and straw man arguments, one after the other after the other. Really points out how vacuous the Right is and how desperate it is at this point to try to grab onto something to with which to defend Donald Vladimir Trumpkin. Calls for the use of an old Trumpkin standard. SAD, SO SAD!

We were allowed to stay because Syria is not actually a country. It just plays one on TV.
