The Left Tried To Shame Ellen Degeneres

It's not so much a "bait" thread as it is a victim thread and presumes the idiocy of the twitterverse is somehow representative of the whole. It's a bad assumption for a bad thread, but Tumpeteers aren't really in this for the truth or honesty.

Though I think we'd all be better off if we ignored Twitter and the rest of the social media tripe.

It happens all the time, not just on twitter. Whenever someone steps out of line on the left, they are shamed for it. Usually they apologize for their transgression but hooray to Ellen for not apologizing.

Your title is just a little deceiving. Ellen is one person and you don’t know the persuasion of the posters on social media. You are justifying that people of different political views can’t be friends and that is what is wrong with today’s politics.

It's got more to do than just this incident and just on social media. The left shame their own whenever they step out of line. Congratulations to Ellen for not apologizing.

No word on the right shaming their own?

I think I've seen more folk on the left be OK with this, than Trumpeteers trying to turn it into something it's not.

Though that's not surprising because Trumpeteers turn drama out of paint drying.

The left have been shamed by their own on numerous occasions. Usually they suck it up and apologize. Hooray for Ellen for not letting herself be shamed by the left.

No civility for war criminals like Darth Bu$h and crypto-Nazis like Trump. These aren't just people with different ideas on how the country should be run.

Ellen should've poured a soda on Dumbya. But I've always suspected she's a fauxgressive that only cares about LGBTQ+ issues and not much else.

Thanks for proving my point.

W. was raised by his dad who was of that generation where politicians could go at it tooth and nail all day, and then go to the same dinner party that night and not carry the politics with them. They may have been loyal to their party, but that was not who they were 24/7. People internalize this stuff too much now and it becomes part of their fragile egos.

DeGeneres is disgusting, is spreading degeneracy, and Bush is complicit for sitting and smiling with her.

OK. I lose a point with your post. Now I have to admit that some on the right are just as disgusting as some of those on the left.

Not nearly as disgusting as sodomy.

Is that a break out and seeing the reality?

for sitting, laughing, and being friends with former president George W Bush and his wife at a Dallas Cowboys football game. Hooray for her for not letting the left shame her and hooray for her for being open minded enough to have friends who think differently than she does on issues. And hooray for George W Bush for being friends with, laughing and joking and having a good time with people that think differently than he does. Why do many on the left have such closed minds and feel the need to shame everyone who doesn't think the same way that they do? Why do many of them feel as Maxine Waters does, that every time you see a Republican or Conservative out in public, they must be harassed for their beliefs?

Ellen DeGeneres responds to criticism over sitting with ‘friend’ George W. Bush at Cowboys game
Way to go, turning a positive teaching moment into yet another idiotic partisan attack.

It wasn’t the amorphous “left” you routinely bash, it was the dumbass far left libtards who criticized Degeneres.

George W. Bush is the topic, isn't he? Or did you forget about your own post. You Trump devotees are slipping. Badly.
He is not. The topic is Ellen DeGeneres standing up to being harassed by progressives for not behaving properly.

That's what I thought. You have no idea. You just didnt want to miss an opportunity to hate on those people on the left. BTW Many people on the right don't like Bush.
So your bait thread failed epically and you should feel bad.
0/10

But you’re here commenting.

So that’s at least a 1/10.

This happens in both parties and you know that is true. That is my point. Your politics should not determine who your friends and family are.

So the mention of George W. Bush never happened, right? I mean, he isn't part of this story at all, is he?

Why do you lie so much?

Yea, same one who idiotically took us into Iraq, a thing most Democrats opposed. But, hey, ole George is their best buddy now that Trump says that Iraq was a disaster, the same position Dems always held.

What do Democrats opposing Iraq have to do with the Trump panty tossers now hating Bush and his family because Trump told you to?

By all accounts, Ellen is good people. I don't care who she is friends with, she does more good for people than bad. She wants to befriend Bush II, all props to her.
People need to choose their battles in life. This one was a circle firing squad.

I voted for G. W. once in the primary, once in the general. About halfway into his first term, I switched to libertarian.

But I do think he's a good guy, and I wouldn't fault anyone for being friends with him. I bet he'd be great to be friends with.

But Cheney....Cheney should be kicked in the nuts every day, lol.

But.....MAXINE WATERS!!

Is that the same George W. Bush that Trump and his drooling fans love to attack and denigrate?

Yeah him.
Since he left office the only thing that bothers me about him is the traffic he stops when he is back home in Maine.
And well, to be honest, some of his paintings are ****.

I love their compound in Kennebunk. When we first moved up this way we took a drive over there and they didn't yet have that pull off spot that allows you to park and look down at the spread. Talk about chaos!

I saw Barbara and her SS men once shopping in downtown. She was such a nice and classy lady (that was back when First Ladies had class and weren't nude porn model gold diggers).

Yes...yes it is.

The outrage that the idiot twitterverse had over this was dumb. I don't this G. W. was a good President (he's the reason I don't vote Republican), but I don't think he's a bad person. And this idiotic notion that one cannot be friends with someone of opposing political ideology is damaging to the Republic overall.

Yeah I trend this way on Bush II, he was not a great POTUS, he was, though, good in the aftermath of 911, which is the last time this country was united on anything.
And while I too agree he isn't a bad person, he was weak when it came to letting Cheney and others like him that he surrounded himself with. He let things happen that maybe he shouldn't have. But I chalk that up more to a inferiority complex surrounding his father, than him being an evil person. I mean his father cast a long, wide shadow.

It is mostly a lefty thing. For the most part, the right don't shame their own.

Yes, it's not standard practice of the right to call those who won't walk locked step RINOs and such. I mean, I'm sure Trump treats those on the right who disagree with him well. I mean, he's been so nice to Romney these days too and totally didn't insult McCain for having been a POW.

But it's just a left thing, right?

lol

Left/Right y'all behave the same.

Yeah, I don't think it works that way.
Iraq is he tarnish that will never fade from Bush II's time as POTUS. Some turds you just cannot polish.
But equating that and people getting all huffy about him and a TV personality being friends is odd.
I mean, I guess if Bush chose another TV personality to befriend, we wouldn't be here, huh?
