    The GOP is gaslighting America

    The GOP is gaslighting America

    President Trump is serious.

He was serious in 2016 when he asked Russia to search for Hillary Clinton's emails. And he was serious last week when he stood in front of the White House and urged Ukraine and China to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, a possible rival for the presidency in 2020. Trump really did want Russia to interfere in the 2016 election, and he really does want foreign countries to take out Biden for him before next year's campaign.

Republicans know this. The problem, though, is that they cannot defend the indefensible. They don't want to endorse the idea of inviting foreign interference in American elections, but they aren't ready to abandon the president, either. So they've decided that the best way to defend Trump from impeachment is to tell the world he cannot be taken seriously — that the word of the president of the United States is meaningless, because he's too busy trolling the world. The president of the United States is a jokester.

Consider these comments made over the weekend by various congressional Republicans:

Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.): "I doubt if the China comment was serious, to tell you the truth."

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.): "I don't know that that's a real request or him just needling the press, knowing that you guys are going to get outraged by it. He's pretty good at getting everybody fired up. And he's been doing that for a while and the media responded right on task."

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio): "You really think he was serious about thinking that China's going to investigate the Biden family? I think he's getting the press all spun up about this."
Gaslighting is a great term, especially regarding the recent actions of Rick Perry and the news surrounding his sudden stepping down.

I am fine with China doing their investigations on its face. The problem is that Trump should have followed proper procedures and gone through the state department or other legal paths and then recused himself from the matter due to a conflict of interest as he is also a political figure. That very conflict of interest is at the root of this whole problem.

    This is ****ing hilarious.

The idiot left in this country has been cheering on the rat party as they went through several intermediaries trying to cover their tracks, hired foreign agents who then fabricated dirt which was used in an attempt to sway an election, and then used that foreign fabricated bull**** that was bought and opaid for by the rat party, in a coordinated attempt with members of the nations leading law enforcement agency, to attempt to overthrow the results of the election...

and NOW the idiot left is ****ting themselves over a phone call to a foreign leader asking for help in investigating a corrupt leftist politician.

    Gaslighting?

I'm not at all surprised about Jim Jordan, the pervert who liked to watch young men get sexually assaulted. I'm not even surprised at Roy Blunt. But Rubio? He knows better than that.

These men have all put their political futures in jeopardy with those stupid claims which only morons and Trump supporters believe.
It's disgraceful. I'm going to maybe and I'm looking at it very seriously. We're doing some other things that you probably noticed like some of the very important things that we're doing now. But we're looking at it very seriously because you can't do that. - President Donald J. Trump

    Gaslighting?

Yes, gaslighting. If Trump has nothing to hide he has nothing to fear, right? So why the obstruction; why the refusal to respond to subpoena requests from Congress? Guilt, that's why.

He’s the president, he IS proper procedure.

No, with Trump 'proper procedure' is whatever he decides it is on any given day.

Speaking of gaslighting and making claims that only morons believe, not even Jim Jordan's accusers said that he watched as they got molested by the doctor. They said he "should have known about it" or that he had been told about it. Jim Jordan did not watch people get sexually assaulted. Nor for that matter did Hillary Clinton run a pedophile sexual slavery ring out of a pizza parlor.

You should not make things up, lie, or exaggerate, nor should you rush to believe obviously made-up lies or exaggerations about your political adversaries. I had thought that such morally unacceptable behavior was part of the reason you left the Republican Party, tres borrachos.

Itís in the small things that the rot starts. Do the wrong thing once, itís easier to do it again. Do the individualistic thing once, it is easy to do it again.
