Apparently Mattis thinks Trump is a shady guy

"Limited cognitive skills" is another way of saying he's a moron.

I think Trump really believes these conspiracy theories. Maybe he really believed Obama's birth certificate was fake. He believes Biden was corrupt despite the best efforts of people around him to convince him otherwise.

That's why we're in this ****show. His babysitters are gone.

More Democrat desperation...

Punkinhead is a moron.

Jim Mattis was trying to be both polite and PC.

Do you ever actually listen when our commander in chief speaks or do you only hear dems bad. I certainly wouldn't want him on my debate team.

It is significant Mattis ended his silence on his experience as SecDEf and principal military adviser to Potus.

Mattis is speaking out at the time when Trump is brazenly pursuing the trashing of national sovereignty by demanding Ukraine and China involve themselves in the election of potus in favor of the incumbent, Donald Trump. This is because James Mattis is a military man to whom his oath to the Constitution is sacred, which is characteristic of the officer corps across the armed services.

Until now Mattis had been silent since leaving the office as SecDef. This set the example and the standard for other Pentagon chiefs and military commanders across the globe, to include retired generals and admirals, to refrain from public criticisms of Trump, as some active duty generals had done. Mattis concern was that the armed forces commanders not expose themselves to allegations of being political, and that the generals and admirals make clear to the American people that the military oath and absolute commitment is to the Constitution, ie. the law of the land.

Mattis is the informal leader of the chiefs of the Pentagon and theater commanders globally. Mattis is the default leader of generals and admirals both active duty and retired. I reiterate I've been saying for going on three years now that if Trump is vacated from his office before his term expires, it would be on the grounds of national sovereignty to include the integrity of our elections, of national security to include reestablishing the relations, confidence and trust of our vital allies, and to reestablish our commitment to the national defense against all enemies foreign and domestic.

The fact Mattis himself is not a political guy defines his credibility as a military commander and general whose only concern is for the Constitution, the military oath to it as proscribed by Washington, and to the national sovereignty, security, defense. The military oath is to "We the People," not to "I the tyrant."

The bottom line is that Putin-Trump and their Rowers have a great deal at stake here. Consequently, all of 'em may be wise to reconsider their whole thing about Making America Russia Instead. Because these matters are now beginning to move decisively against 'em with serious repercussions for 'em all, individually and collectively.

And Trump slams his bedroom door and runs into grab his Twitter. He'll show them.

Hold your horses... we do not know if this is what Mattis thinks. Your thread title and your opinion is suspect.
From the actual Atlantic Article:
His aides and friends say he found the president to be of limited cognitive ability, and of generally dubious character.

Trump is a moron.

Who doesn't know that??

Republicans ****in loved Mattis until the day he left.

Is Mattis auditioning for the role of Captain Obvious?

General Obvious!

Mattis doesn't need to audition.

Mattis is it naturally and completely.

Trump still hasn't any clue. The best way for us to find out if Trump knows he's in deep do do is if he suddenly starts hollering, twittering and screaming against Mattis. It is anyway too late for Trump. With Trump's new campaign to destroy the national sovereignty of the United States he has of course gone a bridge too far, at long last and as was always inevitable.

Mattis didn't say it. Anonymous sources say he said it according to the Atlantic magazine.

It’s long past time that Kelley, Tillerson, Mattis, McMaster and various other Cabinet level exes come out from the shadows.....

Very likely after the fact, to endorse and support it with specifics of the experience of each of 'em among others. .

They basically don't want Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity to trash them...

...yet.

Could there ever be a better representative of this era of the Republican party than Donald Trump?

I bet a lot of people said the same thing about the men (as they were dying out) that didn't want women to vote and the people that represented them at that time.

Republicans in the House and Senate can vote to remove Trump or Trump can be removed.
