The point that is being missed in this discussion is that if it was legalized, if there was any violence perpetrated against the woman, she could report it to the police and get that man off the streets.

If you keep it illegal, she can not do that, which makes it more dangerous for her.

Yeah, you might want to tell all those women who ARENT prostitutes that got raped they should be mad at prostitutes and not the animals who did it to them.

What was my point with that, you ask? That prostitution being illegal hasnt prevented a single rape in this country.

The purpose of criminalizing prostitution is not to prevent rape. Its to enforce public order and public morals

Let me ask you this question....

Whose rights does a woman selling ass for cash violate? The answer, of course, is noones.

Murder isnt illegal because its immoral. Its illegal because it violates the victims right to life.

The purpose of the law is not to enforce morality, its to protect the rights of the citizens. If a prostitute isnt violating anyones rights, what she is doing shouldnt be illegal.

This whole thing is presupposing law shouldn’t be used to enforce morality, not only do I not accept that, I think the sole reason for law is enforcing moral principles.

No, the whole purpose of the law is preservation and protection of rights, nothing more, nothing less.

This can be proven by asking this simple question....whos morality is the law promoting?

Its immoral for me to call someone a crybaby babyback bitch.....there is nothing illlegal about it, however. When I can be legally jailed for that, then you might have a point. Until then, you are just flat wrong.

Since when do morals laws even work? All it does is crowd the jails, needing more and more jails, leaving less room for real criminals.


On vice, I'm a libertarian, let all vice be legal, let all drugs be legal. Do that, more real criminals will be prosecuted, and jail crowding will diminish.

But, to finer tune the above idea, I'm not saying make controlled substances uncontrolled, for at the minimum, they should be doctor supervised, and derived from licensed manufacture.



This logic that making vice legal is equivalent to sponsoring it, is door-knob dumb. In essence, stupidity drives such laws and all it does is strain an already strained system, needlessly

A few years ago, while driving across the Mid-west... I saw more signs for "sex shops" and I saw one that was as tall as a Gas Station sign... and I kept seeing billboards with these type of shops advertised.. My first thought was... These are the same Mid-west people who talk about "family values" and etc... but these signs would not be up, if people had not been buying what is advertised... Now with the Internet moving business more to the web, these signs may not be there now, but I bet the internet web sites that sell these sex toys is booming. So is Porn... people seem not to know, Porn was a leader in the advancements of VHS and DVD as well. Porn was "Streaming" on the internet well ahead of many of these new style streaming services... and if researched, it many have been instrumental in advancing many elements of how such types of tech is used in America as well.

Victoria's Secret does not make money because women don't like sex.. it makes money because women understand what they want and how they want to present themselves when it comes to sex and they know more about what entices than any man on here posting stuff as if to think of her as being without a mind to make her choices.

If anyone has visited a Foreign Country where prostitution, beer bars and go-go bars are located... they might find out, these women don't look down on each other, they may be rivals when it comes to customers, but they don't walk around calling each other nasty names because they all do the same work. In some countries poor girls from the country side come because they know they can make more money to take care of their family, than they could working a standard 8 hr job.
So go into with a plan... and some work that plan and have a mark point they plan to exit the business. Some save their money because they want to start some type of business idea they have. there are women who have jobs 9-5, 5 days a week ... and still do escort service calls in an adjoining of distant town on weekends. They have women who will take 'vacations" with a client if the pay fits their fancy, and some have all expense paid and they still get paid at the end of the vacation.

We've seen countless of the so called "college girls".. who pay their way to schools via escort services, massage parlors, dangers and call girls... in the high dollar world, women that have a certain look don't gravitate to where this money is by accident. They know certain looks, body shapes and etc... is marketable. Does anyone think when they see the young or old guys with lots of wealth, that these girls just show up to lay around the pool in a bikini all day for free?
You also don't see many very media image attractive types, being with guys who have no money!!!

Women know as much about the nature of people as any man thinks he knows, and females know... not only is men looking at them, boys are looking at them, other women, and girls... they are not blind ... and as far as anyone knows... they may have at some point been hit on by someone from each group, and each gender.

If a woman goes out and just want to have sex... she has choices, and when it comes to men with money, she can choose one with money, who is willing to spend it, or in some cases one without money, but will do all he can to give her what ever she ask for that he can manage doing.

So... just what part of the broad spectrum of sex and exchange being made for sex... does one want to address. Don't just get hung up on the world "Prostitute", because there are countless ways that 'sex can be used as a medium of exchange.

Maybe it strains the prison system, but prostitution activity is far lower then it would be if it were legal. Plus prostitution tends to attract drugs, it’s connected to human trafficking, there’s many reasons to oppose legal prostitution.

And I reject the idea that since a law hasn’t reduced an activity to zero we don’t need it or it’s a failure.

It’s weird because liberals will pass all kinds of BS that makes people’s lives worse but demand perfection on public order laws

Maybe you should get from behind the computer spinning your yarns, and actually pay attention to reality. Let you tell it, every prostitute is liberal, and every drug addict is liberal, and every porn performer and every exotic dancer is liberal when it comes to politics.
Maybe you should explain to some of the right wing evangelical preachers and some of the right wing priest that 'banging little boys" is not legal and it does not fit social morality. Maybe you should explain to some of the Right Wing Republican Congressmen that sexually pursuing women and men and boys is not ethical, and is not inline with fidelity when they are married... But also be sure to tell them, taking bribes and insider trading is always illegal.

A Prostitute is having a one on one situations... that has nothing to do with others in her pursuit for money... But Politicians who make decisions that impact millions and does so for decades when they take bribes and have women set up at their function whee someone else has already paid them to pretend its not a solicited sex situations.

See these are realities....

Either way the vote goes... it won't stop prostitution.... nor will it stop people from seeking out sex for sale.

I don't think its fair to the public to have to pay $30k plus a year to lock people up for a private arrangement between consenting adults. Now... I would not think to tell any woman or man that they should focus their life on being a prostitute. But... if they do... its not likely they will listen to me or anyone else tell them not to, if they are determined to do it.

It's a Catch 22 or a Catch 33 or a Catch 55 or any variation of such that one can come up with, and I don't have any control over it... when it comes down to what individuals choose.

Priest, Preaches, Judges, and Mom's and Pop's have tried to 'intervene" and unless the person is willing to not prostitute, then they will simply find ways to hide it from whom ever they want to hide it from.

Maybe there should be "safe places' they can function... People created "Red Light Districts"... as a place where they could collectively look out for and after each other.

Guess based on your comment they should outlaw Soap Opera's... they've been into soft porn, adultry as an ongoing theme and Gold digger scheming to hook up with someone with money or title, and geez's ... for decades they have intricately interwoven the subliminal "heavy breathing" that is purposefully mic'd into the audio.... Maybe even outlaw sitcoms and the sexual innuendo's that are cornerstone to many of the theme scrips of these "Prime Time" shows. By, goodness..
