Latest Mitt hit on Trump

You are now arguing a different point. I wasn't talking about whether China should investigate Biden. In fact, that's pointless as, if a dirty deal went down, China is hardly going to admit that, yea, they bought old Joe. The point is that Biden is the topic because Biden engaged in what appears to be shenanigans on behalf of his son. That doesn't happen and Trump isn't talking about it.

As for the crime, we don't know what it may be until it's investigated. One can certainly raise legitimate questions as to why Hunter Biden, a private citizen, was along on that trip and what happened that led to this deal.

Quoting me that you replied to:

Romney isn't even committing to DOING anything. All he's done is condemn the obviously condemnable, which is the President urging corrupt and authoritarian foreign governments to investigate U.S. citizens, in this case a political rival. No one can defend President's actions on the merits, or argue against Romney's point, so we get what you gave us, which is lazy ad hominem. SAD!

Trump told UKRAINE and CHINA to investigate the Bidens. It's on tape, in front of reporters. What the hell did you think Romney was talking about if not that? Or is the strategy is that you will just pretend be dumb?

Romney's opinion was that it's all political as if we have no valid interest in seeing whether Biden sold his office to enrich his son. You guys don't want anybody investigating Biden be they Ukrainian, Chinese or American. The focus must be Trump, always Trump.

Romney said Trump asking CHINA to investigate his rival is political because Trump has never requested foreign countries investigate other citizens, which would itself be horribly inappropriate no matter who it is.

And if "we" here in the U.S. have a valid interest, "we" in the U.S. have agencies to investigate and prosecute if necessary. "We" don't outsource those tasks involving Americans to authoritarian, corrupt hellholes headed up by effective dictators. That's what Trump was asking those countries to do and it's indefensible, so we get the crap arguments you're giving which are denial, distraction, diversion, anything but addressing the actual issue.

That's funny. I thought the premise of the impeachment mania was that Trump asked Ukraine to investigate Biden. You also act as if I agree that China should investigate Biden.

It's always a bit surprising how willing Trump defenders are to debase themselves with dishonest arguments and feigned ignorance to defend that guy. What do you get out of that?

FWIW, it's not either/or but both. The difference is with Ukraine we have POTUS making the request in his official capacity as POTUS, tasking the lead to his personal attorney, and lots of evidence in the call and otherwise for a quid pro quo. With China, he's just confirming for the world that he certainly approves of corrupt foreign hellholes putting U.S. citizens under their investigatory thumb, but only his political foes.

Like I said, I'd have no faith in any Chinese investigation but how would Biden be under their thumb as an American citizen? It also gets a bit tiring reading the self righteous blather from you and others in here. When you don't want to address some point you accuse the other person of somehow ignoring it or debasing themselves or some other nonsense. I addressed every point, no matter how little evidence you have in making it.

Five bucks says that almost every Trump voter championed and voted for Mitt Romney.

My guess is that some even know that Mitt is correct on this one specific issue. They just can't give an inch.

Oh, for sure damn near all Trump voters voted for Mitt in 2012, McCain in 2008, and GWB in 2000 and 2004. They always vote straight ticket Republican. They relentlessly defended GWB during his 8 years in office, and abandoned him in 2008 when Obama won and they realized he was a failure. In Mitt's case, some called him a "RINO" at first, but he became "Reaganesque" when he won the nomination, and when he lost, they abandoned him again. They praised McCain for his service in 2008, while bashing Obama, and then 8 years later in 2016 praised draft dodger Trump when he mocked McCain for being captured. If Trump loses in 2020, or whenever he's out of office, they'll eventually abandon him too, and move on to worshipping the next idiot Republican their political masters tell them to worship.

So you agree with Romney, but decided to troll instead of just saying so... His comment:

When the only American citizen President Trump singles out for China’s investigation is his political opponent in the midst of the Democratic nomination process, it strains credulity to suggest that it is anything other than politically motivated.

So you agree with Romney, but decided to troll instead of just saying so... His comment:

He claimed it was politically motivated. That would imply that we have no reason to investigate what happened except for the fact that Biden is running for President. No, I reject that idea. It should be looked at regardless.

[Trump should urge CHINA] It should be looked at regardless.

Again, my question is why Trump defenders willingly debase themselves like that ^^^^^. I don't understand it.

I've inserted the actual argument in [brackets]

And you talk of dishonesty. On most forums, altering a post like that will get you banned. What I said was perfectly clear despite your attempts to play Schiff.

"Almost every" is relative.

Remember, a lot of Trump voters wouldn't have been able to get past Romney being a Mormon. That's why when Romney actually would have been the logical person to take on the job of helping the country recover from the 2008 recession, Huckabee supporters joined with McCain supporters to shut Romney out.

Then in 2012, Romney acted quite inauthentic in his attempt to try to win those voters over. He wasn't able to get up there and bull**** with the talent and passion that Trump was in 2016. Romney couldn't set his intelligence aside well enough to nail the performance he needed deliver in order to win the hearts and lymbic systems of the people who are starry-eyed over Trump's over-the-top rally cries.

So, actually for multiple reasons, there could be a significant percentage who voted for Trump who did not vote for Romney, and of those who did for Romney, a lot probably didn't "champion" him.

Rush Limbaugh did eventually champion Romney, by the way. Thus, many of Rush's fans might have dutifully tried to parrot Rush's rationalizations about Romney meeting the three pillars of Reagan's conservative ideal. But it wouldn't have been whole-heartedly.

Report me if you like. There is a triangle with an "!" button on the lower left side of my post. Hit it if you want. I alerted you and everyone else where I inserted words and didn't delete a single letter of your post. If I get dinged, OK. I am tired of your trolling, though, so I'll end it with that.

You define any opinion opposite your own as trolling.

Romney's point isn't a point at all. Biden was VPOTUS. Biden flew his son on AF2 to China where he left with a $1B+ deal with a company tied to the Chinese government. Who else are we supposed to investigate in such a circumstance, Joe Sixpack from Des Moines?

What's more revealing is the utter lack of interest the Dems have in what looks to be an extremely suspicious deal. What did Joe offer in return? We know his no account son isn't what the Chinese were interested in.
Its not all that interesting. The same people that are ****ting themselves over these phone calls shrieking treason just spent three years cheerfully praising the democrat party hiring an agent that hired an agent that hired a foreign agent that hired another foreign agent that hired yet another foreign agent to fabricate dirt on a political opponent and then when that effort failed, used that same fabricated dirt to attempt to launch a criminal campaign to oust a duly elected president. The idiot left in this country is corrupt as ****. They are literally standing covered head to toe in their own **** pointing at Trump saying "look what he stepped in!".

Mitt is a tool. The question is whether or not he is smart enough to know it. Mitt has forgotten that in 2012 he too was labelled a racist and accused of wanting to hang black people from trees in chains.

SOP, for some. Some always accuse others of what they, themselves, are doing...

Why do you need to announce this?
I'm tired of your highjacking threads because you won't tolerate a difference in opinion.

He's also correct in this case. Shame the rest of the GOP are such cowards acknowledging the obvious is a bridge too far for them.

I regret having voted for him.
Obama would have been the better choice in retrospect.

Mitt Romney the new self-appointed John McCain. ;)

Poor Romney. He got rejected at the polls and can't forgive Trump for succeeding where he failed. What a lightweight.

Standard response.

Deride the caliber of the personality or their numbers

You chose the former rather than to deride the numbers as just ONE.

I'm sure the men with the adding machines in the WH are saying to Trump, relax it's just ONE man.
Tomorrow it will be two....then three...

It's good to know Romney has a new name: pompous "aas" ...

It's even better to see how fake Republicans step all over their own party to defend Trump.

He's jealous.
He's a Never Trumper globalist.

And yes, he's an arrogant poor loser.....

It's not a difference of opinion I'm objecting to, but that person constantly moving the goal posts and beating up straw men, along with deliberately misstating my argument that he'd quoted and ignored, then changed when he ran out of dishonest ways to attack Romney and defend Trump.

Go back and quote me a single post in that exchange where he honestly addressed my argument or Romney's ACTUAL comment. I don't think you can. Hence, my closing dismissal.

I actually enjoy debating people on the merits and do so respectfully when the courtesy is returned.
