How much of an expert does one have to be in Ukrainian gas market dynamics?
Here's the dynamic in twenty five words or less:

Russia practices oil and gas hegemony on Ukraine and the rest of EU and Eastern Europe.

That's it. That's all there is.
Burisma's specialty is hydraulic fracturing for oil and gas, commonly known as "fracking".
And while fracking is detested over there even more than it is here, European enviro fracking standards are more strict than US standards, which are almost nonexistent.

But as bad as fracking might be, Russian oil/gas hegemony is much worse.
People DIED in the last few years when Russia CUT OFF access to heating oil and nat gas.
If you look back at the news of the last few years you will remember that Russia cut off oil and nat gas on quite a few occasions to various countries in order to pressure them to accede to their will.

Burisma's goal was to leverage fracking to the point where Ukraine could free itself from its dependence on Russian energy.
And since fracking was INVENTED HERE by Halliburton, a US company, it is for the most part American technology.

It makes perfect sense to have an American on the board of any fracking company, and the above makes it clear what the gas market dynamics are, because the dynamics consist of a single binary choice:

Russian oil and gas or Ukrainian oil and gas. Take your pick.

And by the way, the rest of Europe is also in favor of fracking as a hedge against Russia.
Russia truly IS, for all practical purposes, Nigeria with snow, or...a GAS STATION masquerading as a country.

He and his son are not on speaking terms. Hunter Biden got married and didn't even tell his parents.

For Biden to defend himself, he would have to defend his son, and it is likely his son is guilty of something.

When Biden was VP, and his son was on the Burisma board, we were not making any loans yet.
Oh and, by the way, it was never a LOAN, it was foreign aid.

I already explained, in terms I was sure anyone could understand, what it takes to understand oil and gas vis a vis Ukraine.
Allow me to try one more time. And if you still don't get it, you never will:

1. Ukraine was dependent on Russian oil and gas.
2. Because Russia wanted to exert dominance over Ukraine (their former USSR republic) they used oil and gas as a market weapon.
3. Sudden exorbitant jumps in prices, sudden "emergencies" with supply lines, etc.
4. Burisma is a Halliburton trained fracking company. Fracking gives Ukraine a large measure of independence from Russia's oil/gas hegemony.
5. The only thing Hunter needed to know about oil and gas was how best to connect Burisma to needed resources in horizontal hydraulic fracturing tech. For that you need a "Rolodex" and a phone.

There was no ongoing investigation when VP Biden made an offer the Ukrainians could not refuse and further the offer was not contingent on furthering VP Biden's personal wealth or career, or any Biden political campaign.

Now mind you, I am not all that interested in defending Uncle Joe's ne'er do well son but the facts should be in order if you're going to argue.
In fact, I don't even mind if you levy a nepotism charge.

As for my personal feelings about Biden's campaign, I'm a Liz Warren fan, so Biden dropping out isn't going to bother me much.
The only way I would vote for Biden is if he gets the nomination, and I don't seriously believe he has a chance.

There is no reason to go thru all you want when you set out to prove your own message false - claiming that company didn't need anyone at all other than someone with a Rolodex - furiously claiming your message they needed to hire some American expert is false.

Despite all of this, Joe Biden is the stronger than Warren as an opponent to Trump because Joe Biden is Joe Biden. He often talks goofy, but then so does Trump. Biden is a known quantity for which voters would have to hold their nose deciding which of the two goofy old men to vote for - a straight up partisan contest. Joe Biden's strongest skill is he is very good at talking to old white people - the core of Trump's support. If Biden had run in 2016, I believe he would have won. For some old people, Biden is a likable old guy, old "Uncle Joe."

Warren is just another angry, ranting arrogant East Coast old white women looking down her nose at everyone - and who in actual elections proved more unpopular than Hilary Clinton even in Warren's home state - and it's not easy to be THAT unlikable.

Romney never countered Harry Reids accusation about not paying taxes strong enough....it hurts a candidate not to refute strong allegations like Trump is throwing at Biden.
