Was Obama the worst president in United States History?

A case could be made that Obama was by far and away the most destructive / worst president in United States History. I want to hear about your personal thoughts on the matter. Trump is embroiled in controversy, but we don't hear much about Obama anymore. Do you think he is actively working to undermine the Trump administration? Do you think Obama was a valid president? i.e. Was he born on the land?
Now that we have a few years to look at his legacy, I thought it would be a good time to break that down. What has Obama done for America? Is it good? Is it bad?
Do you think his presidency is inconsequential? Please, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter. I will discuss specifics of my claim if we generate enough interest. Lets see how it goes!

Hell no.

Not even remotely close, that “honor” goes to James Buchanan

Bush put us in 2 wars. One we are still in. One was BS for daddy. He didn't account for the cost of wars in any of his budgets.
He was at the helm when the economy went into the worst depression in history.
He was at the helm when Twin Towers were attacked.

It's hard to claim Obama the worst in history. Given Bush was before him.

Obama did stop the bleeding of the great depression.
Had over 75 months of private sector job growth.
He did bring racism to the forefront. Although not entirely his doing. It was always still in our country, but just laid dormant until he became prez.

Well, he was black. And let's face it, Lyndon Johnson's words ring as true today as they did when he said them. Trump's campaign is largely based on them.

President Lyndon B. Johnson: "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."

European diplomats: Trump is a 'laughing stock'
European diplomats also told BuzzFeed that they think Trump's foreign policy doctrine is driven primarily "an obsession" with undoing former President Barack Obama's initiatives.

"It's his only real position," one official said. "He will ask: 'Did Obama approve this?' And if the answer is affirmative, he will say: 'We don't.'"

Very reasonable.

I'd say Carter was the best or second best however.
Carter, really? How? Why? You like his sweater? Billy Beer? Malaise?

He did give us Reagan so not all bad.....but the good? Curious minds want to know.

Obama was horrible.

Only the right wing alleges to believe what you claim.

To be fair, he did build a website that cost 5 billion and it didn't even work. This really speaks to Obama's patriot heart. He wanted what was best for Americans, right? WRONG. He wanted the worst for Americans. That's why Johnathan Gruber said Obamacare was passed due to the "stupidity" of the American voter.

Bush II probably the worst president in our history. Also a 21st century president.
No, Trump has the distinction of being the worst president in the 21st century. A title that hopefully no other president will take from him. One Trump in a century, or ever, is one too many.
I did note that it was a stiff competition for worst.

Much to my surprise, Trump has been pretty good. Bush was not as good, but not horrible. Clinton, if you count him was in the worst part of his tenure. I voted for Obama and he was a colossal flop. ACA is the worst major law of my lifetime and it's Obama's legacy.

That case would fail.

I rank Bush Jr as the second worst president in the History of the United States. Mainly due to his poor oratory skills and his less-than-average IQ. That and he worked for the deep state.

That case would fail.

Eric Holder. Only sitting member of the presidential cabinet (in history) to be held in criminal contempt of court for failing to turn over documents relating to Fast and Furious. That's not a distinction you want on your record. Shall we talk about Fast and Furious?

A case could only be made that Obama was the worst President in US history if one was completely ignorant of US history.

Without a doubt the most destructive/worst President in US history was Franklin Delano Roosevelt. We are still paying for his crimes against the people today. We had to create an entirely new amendment to the US Constitution specifically because of FDR to prevent any future fascists from taking control of the nation for life.

Of the five Democrat Presidents who have been elected since FDR, it is a close call between Truman and Obama as who would be the worst. Obama manufactured laws out of thin air, while Truman tried to nationalize the steel industry and dictated wages and prices. Both put their fascism on display for the world to see.

Before FDR you have to go back to Polk and Jackson as for being particularly bad Presidents. Of course the only impeached Presidents are Democrats, but even though they were impeached, there were still Democrat Presidents who were much worse.

As a general rule, it is a very bad idea to elect anyone running as a Democrat. Assuming one values life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, which Democrats vehemently oppose.

Okay, good. Im glad we have you on board. As far as I know, and I am a little rusty on the facts, but IIRC something like 2000 weapons were handed over to the drug cartels of mexico in an effort to track, locate, and take down cartel leadership. We aren't just talking pistols here. We are talking high powered assault rifles and such. when put into practice the weapons were never tracked and used in numerous shooting incidents on both sides of the southern border. One of our border agents was actually killed by one of these weapons. Something like 700 guns were recovered, but that leaves over 1000 weapons in the hands of violent criminals. To this date, not a single cartel leader has been arrested, and the entire operation was a complete failure. Unless, of course, Eric Holder intentionally released weapons into our enemies hands to cause more chaos and violence at our southern border. How is that for a paradox? Eric Holder: We need gun control in America. Eric Holder: Gives weapons to US enemies.

Is that all ?

Not great. Voting for Obama was one of the worst political mistakes of my life. Voting against Hillary turned out so much better.

I think we live in an age of information overload where you have to crank the knob up to 11 to get anyone to even notice you. Obama can't just be a bad president, not even the worst president. He has to be "far and away the most destructive / worst president" ever in the history of the universe.

IMO Obama was a fairly inconsequential president of no significant or lasting achievements. A century from now he'll be a trivia question ie the first black president.

I guess Trump's political side chicks are just gonna make every dumb thread possible all the way through the impeachment.

You mean the guy who inherited an economy on fire and turned it around? The guy who moved unemployment from over 10% down to 4.7% by the end of his term? Not the guy who created the mess? And not the current clown about to be impeached?

Staggeringly nonsensical.

Did you get to the brainwashing part? You know, with Eric Holder?

Holder was talking about gun violence among Black youths in Washington D.C.

"What we need to do is change the way in which people think about guns, especially young people, and make it something that’s not cool, that it’s not acceptable, it’s not hip to carry a gun anymore, in the way in which we changed our attitudes about cigarettes," Holder said. He later added, "We have to be repetitive about this. It’s not enough to have a catchy ad on a Monday and then only do it Monday. We need to do this every day of the week, and just really brainwash people into thinking about guns in a vastly different way."

Did former Attorney General Eric Holder say he viewed his mission as 'brainwashing' against guns? | PolitiFact

I guess you think urban Black youth need more guns?

But why are you talking about Eric Holder? Your OP is about Obama.
