Was Obama the worst president in United States History?

A case could be made that Obama was by far and away the most destructive / worst president in United States History. I want to hear about your personal thoughts on the matter. Trump is embroiled in controversy, but we don't hear much about Obama anymore. Do you think he is actively working to undermine the Trump administration? Do you think Obama was a valid president? i.e. Was he born on the land?
Now that we have a few years to look at his legacy, I thought it would be a good time to break that down. What has Obama done for America? Is it good? Is it bad?
Do you think his presidency is inconsequential? Please, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter. I will discuss specifics of my claim if we generate enough interest. Lets see how it goes!

History will judge that when we are dead and gone. I don't consider him the worst in history but don't think he was all that good either.

He saved us from a depression and built an economy so good that it's going to take another year for trump to crash it...

I would like to hear your argument of why he was the worst. I certainly did not like him and opposed most of his agenda but i would not call him the worst president ever. I think we need to be careful ranking someone as best or worst based on popularity.

As a leader obama much to my displeasure got a lot of his agenda passed so he was effective on that metric. The economy also did improve under his watch.

In my lifetime i would say jimmy carter is the worst administration i have lived through. I think his heart was in the right place but his head was not. Between bad politics and poor leadership i think he damaged the country the most.

He gave us Trump and we survived his presidency, so not the worst. Lyndon Johnson still has a lock on worst. America may never fully recover from Johnson.

Well, before the ACA 45,000 AmeriCANs died each year because they lacked health insurance; that number is on the rise again under tRump's misadministration.

Trump or President Obama? Trump no, he's damaged the Office of President of The United States more than any or all previous Presidents; we will be suffering the consequences of his presidency for years to come, long after he is out of office.

The following from the History Department of George Washington Univeristy shows that President Obama is being judged as a dignified, respected and accomplished custodian of the Presidency.

Former President Barack Obama was first judged in the Siena College Research Institute’s 2010 survey after he had been in office only a year. Scholars rated Obama the 15th best president. In 2014, the American Political Science Association survey rated Obama 18th. In 2017, upon leaving the Presidency, Obama was rated the 12th best president by historians in the C Span Presidential Survey.

Then in 2018, after one year of Donald Trump’s presidency, the American Political Science Association conducted its Presidents and Executive Politics Survey. The study questioned 170 Political Scientists who self-identified as liberals, Democrats, moderates, independents, conservatives, and Republicans. In this poll, Obama was ranked 8th, ten points higher than in 2014. Democrats rated Obama 6th; Independents rated him 12th; and even Republicans rated him 16th. Donald Trump ended up at the bottom—number 44. After the constant comparison with President Donald Trump, Obama was considered a better president historically. He just might reach the top ten Presidents when the next C Span Survey is done after Donald Trump leaves office.

Gays openly serve in the military
Gay marriage is the law of the land
He ended the war in iraq
He cut the military budget
He entered us into the paris agreement
Etc etc etc
We can argue if the country benefitted or not from his choices but he did get his way on a lot of issues

I agree with your assessment of Carter. He is a very good man, but not the right one for the office at that time.

No, Trump has the distinction of being the worst president in the 21st century. A title that hopefully no other president will take from him.

One Trump in a century, or ever, is one too many.
