So the Dems are going to impeach Trump

When are the House Democrats going to vote on the impeachment inquiry ? We were told this was the worst scandal of Trump's Presidency, that there was a quid pro quo, that Trump threatened to withhold aid unless Ukraine investigated Joe Biden and his son.

Then Trump released the transcript, and it was so " damning " that Adam Schiff had to start the hearing with a totally made up and fake account of the call between Trump and the Ukrainian President

When called out on it, he claimed it was " parody "...:lamo And your'e whining about propaganda from Trump supporters..:roll:

A move to Formal Impeachment Inquiry does not require a vote on the floor. It requires EITHER the authorization of the Speaker (now given) or a vote on the floor. I would like a vote just to get everybody on the record but Pelosi does not need it. The whip count is now 225 and likely higher today. So she has the votes. I think we will see what the committees produce for Articles of Impeachment by Christmas and vote on the floor on the Articles then. The Articles are a result of the work of the House, not a predicate for it.

If the Articles or some Articles get a yes vote Trump will have been formally Impeached and the Articles move on to the Senate for their Removal review.

Hunter Biden sat on the board of a Ukrainian Gas company that was being investigated for corruption.

Joe Biden bragged ( there's a video and everything ) about leveraging one billion dollars in US aid to force the Ukrainian Govt to fire the prosecutor running that investigation.
He was fired and the investigation was closed and charges against the Companies owner were dismissed.

This narrative that the prosecutor was corrupt and Joe Biden pressured him because he wasn't doing enough to fight corruption ( including investigating Burisma Holdings ) doesn't make a lot of sense.
Firing the prosecutor effectively ended the investigation.
Take the above scenario and replace Hunter with Don Jr and Joe Biden with Donald Trump.
Would it be worth investigating ? Yes. Would the MSM an the Democrats run with it 24/7 ? Yes. Would Trump be impeached ? Yup ! And rightfully so.

You’ve erred on a crucial point; at the time Biden went to Ukraine there was no ongoing investigation. VP Biden had no reason to threaten to withhold the money.

With all the impeachment talk from Democrats over the last 3 years, the Democratic House doesn't have a choice but to pass the articles of impeachment. It's just the timing. There's no way to get 67 senators to go along, so Trump will be found not guilty and remain as president.

This will harden each sides view of the other for the 2020 election. How that effects that election remains to be seen. Perhaps not by much as those views, pro and anti Trump has been pretty much set in concrete since the day after the election.

Impeachment and a trial in the senate is on its way. It just depends on when.

I highly doubt it. That is unless it is a month or two prior to the election. Perhaps the political savvy Pelosi is waiting for just that. For her and the Democrats to get all the political advantage they can from impeachment.

A “shot across the bow” is a colloquialism for a warning to stop doing something.

What Trump did was attempted extortion, which is defined as a form of theft that occurs when an offender obtains money, property, or services from another person through coercion. To constitute coercion, the necessary act can be the threat of violence, destruction of property, or improper government action.
